Funny, a guy (obviously misogynist) pretending to be a woman, writing about "feminism" (actually about femi nazism), nothing "weird" about that, lol.

Just another example of how words get changed over time. Gay used to mean "happy" in the 1950s.

I agree with you but I only agree because I hate radical feminists. But there are many level headed real feminists out there that actually want positive change and care about the west and the countries that are third world and need feminism more.

As a side note I think feminists get a lot of unneeded hate because of the radical part that I believe just hate men and use feminism as a sort of scape goat. This leads to people thinking that the radical part is feminism but their own "cause" is quite different.

the radical feminism is the REAL feminism, it's the HONEST feminism. the rest is more like an ignorance is bliss feminism-reading the dictionary definition, not the reality.

@feminismisnarcissism radical feminism has different causes to real feminism, real feminism is largely about third world feminism but still recognizes there's problems in North America. Radical feminism has a louder voice because sadly drama and controversial shit these days is the loudest and people read into that more. Radical feminism is more of a hate for men than what the definition says, they want inequality ratehr than equality. There are more types of feminism than one actually, https://www.uah.edu/woolf/feminism_kinds.htm Radical feminist worked back in the 1960`s and 70`s but is no longer very accepted today.

that's a "no true scotsman fallacy" ie a false argument. that said, a movement is defined NOT BY ITS CLAIMED DEFINITION but by its behavior-which ends the argument.

if ANY FEMINISM was about equality then SOME feminism would address the largest disparities IN gender that exist today-all of which harm men and benefit women and all of which were CAUSED BY feminism as a whole

      child support (80% disparity)
custody 7 to 1 in womens favor
criminal law - where women get sentences on average 1/20th of men for same crimes
      other civil areas
domestic violence-70% is perpetuated BY WOMEN, yet they get 500+ shelters for DV in USA, men get 12?
college grants: Women are now 2/3 of the population getting degrees in college
gender mutilation: 70% in america is men, 0% is women yet we can't even CALL IT "mutilation" if it's a man/boy... even though circumcision removes 2/3 of the penis skin and 2/3 of the nerve endings and IS about decreasing pleasure

      just a few examples

@feminismisnarcissism I read something awhile ago where feminists believe that they're still majorly marginalized compared to men so they need more of a specific lens, but that doesn't mean you can't be an "equalist". Also like I said you can't really generalize feminism because there are many categories now. So what you're arguing with me is that feminists today cannot worry about third world problems that have to do with women and not still worry about North America's problems without being labeled a radical feminist and their arguments would be invalid because of that? I don't think so.

again - behavior matters, nothing else. Find me ONE branch of feminism that addresses ONE of the disparities I mentioned. you must, they are the largest disparities there are-so they must be addressed SOMEWHERE or NO feminism is about equality. no way around that-and it's YOUR BURDEN. I've satisfied my burden with facts.

@feminismisnarcissism sigh like I said if you understood feminism at all they look through it as a SPECIFIC LENS aka mostly about females because they think they are majority marginalized today. Now is that necessarily false? Not really so that's the way they view it. But they also see it as you can still be a feminist and an "equalist". So you obviously didn't read what I said.

you missed one: An equality movement can't list only ONE group in its title or its doomed to be a superiority (of that named group) movement.

    As feminism continues to prove.

One is aggressive and the other is not. One is openly misandric, the other is too iliterate to find out most of what she's supporting is based on lies and she is actually asking for more privilege. One talks a lot, the other does nothing to stop them.

One is a monster, the other is the coward who allows the monster to grow. See? I know the difference, it just doesn't make them less despicable each in their own way.

No, I believe I'm much smarter than those bloggers. As for cultural appropriation it's not a real thing. Here is one definition of cultural appropriation, "Taking intellectual property, traditional knowledge, cultural expressions, or artifacts from someone else's culture without permission" (Susan Scafidi). As you can see the definition alone is very foolish. Exactly whose permission do I need? It's not appropriation but appreciation. I don't understand cultural appropriation because it doesn't exists, another stupid rant from your modern day feminist.

Cultural appropriation boils down to separating people in ethnic groups and actively pushing for segregation, while the minority groups that defend it actively enjoy western society.

It takes me back to my college days when I graduated, we had various companies come and give applications to prospective students to get a job and i was so excited because after 4 years of hard work I was placed 6th overall in my class and we went to an aerospace companies booth and the lady handing out applications said that unfortunately it was mandatory to only accept female applicants regardless of our performance and it turned out to be a sad day for me. Rape culture as an expression of the patriarchy is, at this point, core feminist doctrine in any western academic environment. Saying this is not taking WBC as an example for what Christians believe, it's more like taking the pope as an example.

It's no longer necessary to say one is a feminist unless one is a third wave feminist.

What you're doing is equivalent to claiming someone is a sjw if they are against slavery.

I believe the problem is she does know some feminists. I know feminists too. They're terrible.

I just ask because a lot of my friends and family are Feminists, including my SO. I also live in one of the most Progressive and ultra-Liberal places in the U. S., so I'm surrounded by Feminists every day.

Problem is, I don't know anybody who is against Men's Rights advocacy. I don't know anyone who has ever said cat-calling is the same as being stoned to death. I don't know anybody who isn't inherently egalitarian.

What I'm saying is, actual Feminists don't really do most of the things you've talked about. I'm not saying it doesn't happen (there are a lot of stupid people in the world, after all) - I'm saying that I would think that since I'm surrounded by Feminists every day, if these things were inherent to the movement, I'd have seen it, and I haven't.

That makes me doubt whether or not you've really experienced these types of things from talking to people around you, or if your worldview is based on second-hand information.

Actual members of any group are defined solely by the extremist members. Like it or not, that's how it works.

@Gommers Yeah, not really. This post is making a point about the behavior of an entire movement, using the behavior of some extremists as proof. If the author was genuinely concerned about the viability of the movement, she would have called that out. As it is, it sounds like she's never actually met any normal Feminists, which make up the vast, vast majority of them. It also sounds like she isn't aware of the difference between Feminists from 40 years ago and modern Feminists today. It's huge.

I'm not talking about ALL feminists, I should have pointed this out but I was heated in the moment and forgot to mention this. I do believe that they are good feminists out there but they are also batshit crazy ones that deserve to be called out. I once saw one get upset at a driver for having a Hawaiian doll in his car as decoration stating that the driver was being rude to the culture. Today the west is a wonderful place to live as a woman so I will not complain about living in this part of the world, where I know I have the opportunities I wouldn't have if I was born and raised in South Asia. It just shocks me all the shit some feminists come up with nowadays.

@Tinerr I can get behind that - the Hawaiian girl thing is dumb. There are stupid people in every movement that ruin things.

@Gommers "Your only as good as your worst member"

Apart from being grammatically incorrect, this statement is a broad generalization that one could use to support any claim. In essence, it's a non-claim used to redirect attention from the fact that you have no other argument.

I personally know feminists who believe these things, and MRA lectures and meetings have literally been shut down by protesters blocking them and then pulling fire alarms where I live.
