Its sometimes stupid that people get offended for seeing women breast feeding their babies (which is completely natural), but when they see teens or other women dressed provocative and with all the breasts out, they think of it as normal and agree with it
I know right... Like a girl with a shirt barely covering her boobs is fine but a woman feeding her baby makes everyone lose their shit. Apparently being underdressed and provocative is more beautiful than feeding a baby... smh. When I have a baby i'll breastfeed it for sure. It creates such a bond with your baby! If people aren't happy they can look away, I'm not the one forcing them to stare.
Breasts ARE for feeding babies , they have been turned into sexual objects , especially in Western culture , I have never been drawn to boobs sexually. Colostrum is essential for effective immune defence for a baby , the only reason my ex had to switch from her milk to formula , is that BOTH my children drunk her dry within 3-4 weeks , but at least they got the all important colostrum.
i m totally agree with u on each and every point you discussed here...& there is nothing wrong if u cover or not cover urself during breastfeeding it depends upto u and comfort of ur baby... I don't get it why men stares women who breastfeed there child?
Breastfeeding hasn't become controversial ever since The "social experiment" videos by Joe Salads. These experiments by him are all fake. The reactions look so rehearsed and also one of the guys in the video came out and said that yes joe salads told me to act offended and mad. It as all a set up for views and to create controversy. I'm all for breastfeeding in public and I really don't think it is an issue that is being attacked left and right.
Thank you very much :) A lot of people are actually against it, if you read all these comments. Also I've had personal experience with people who are offended by it. Maybe his experiments are fake but some people really are offended by it.
Yeah, maybe I just live in my own bubble. I just find it baffling that anyone would be against breastfeeding in public. It's like being against breathing.
I know, I would have never thought people would be against something so incredibly natural. But apparently some people are. I completely agree with you.
Some people are so prudish. When I was a kid it was a lot more common. It wasn't an everyday sight, but it was common enough that it didn't get a second glance. Even as a kid who had never seen breasts before it was not a big deal.
Yes, beasts can be sexual. But "can be" doesn't mean they "are" sexual. Sexuality has a lot more to do with suggestion, body language, tease, etc. There is nothing about breast feeding that suggests sexuality. Someone fully clothed can be far more sensual than a few square inches of exposed skin. If someone sexualizes it, that's on them, not on the mother.

I respect everyone's opinion on this matter but I for one cannot stand it. Women these days are too obsessed with public breastfeeding but honestly there is a time and a place for it, and the middle of a restaurant is not it. There's no harm in using a pump and bottle feeding if you're going out. And these mother's who insist on breastfeeding even when the child 18 and 24 months old? It is extremely odd and I know I'm not alone with that one. I breastfed for one week to ensure my baby got her colostrum and that was long enough for me.
I plan to breastfeed my baby until she is at least 2 because studies have shown there are many long term benefits when you breastfeed for longer periods.
Glad you feel comfortable feeding in public. I am the first of my female side to breastfeed since the 30's and formula. Both my grandmother and mother thought it "icky". My step-mom was a good role model for breastfeeding, I don't remember her doing it in public, though. I never felt comfortable breastfeeding in public. I tried the cover up thing and felt like I suffocated my son. I would go to the bathroom and feed him. I stopped going places during growth spurts. Lol. I was still shy with my next two children. Even around other women, I feel self-conscious. Great Take!
Yes because this is totally what's more important right now.
In reality as long as your not doing it in a restaurant or something, board meeting whatever and your not using a pump to actually pump milk from the breasts in public most people don't care.
I don't as long as your respectful about it and the people around you.
Honestly, I never understand why breastfeeding is so controversial. Originally I'm from Czech Republic and there is very, VERY common to see breastfeeding in public. And no one cares. Maybe it's because Czechs are very tolerate people. They support the same sex marriage, marihuana is legal (for medical purposes, so you can get prescription from your GP). So if people see mother breastfeeding her baby in public, if they don't like it, they don't look at it. But usually you can see smile across their faces ☺. Now I live in the UK and I never saw breastfeeding woman in public here. I believe that problem with public breastfeeding is because of American hypocrisy. They are ashamed of breastfeeding but they has biggest porn industry in the world. They are peaceful people, but look at how many wars they've been in even if no one ask them to join, etc.
The ironic thing is that it is predominantly WOMEN who get so upset by other women breastfeeding in public. I know of very few men who care about that - and few men will complain if they see a little extra boob. But I've heard some VICIOUS things from women about it, which is completely baffling to me except that I think that most of them feel that breastfeeding women are "trying to steal attention" that they don't deserve (or, that belongs to the other women, somehow).
Women don't wanna hear that. They just wanna blame men for everything. Their own worst enemy is themselves and they make life hard for each other and bam, who's to blame? Men cause feelings and oppression. Stupid females :/
Jesus christ, for all you morons, breasts are a sexual organ, guys have penis and testicles women have vaginas and breasts, learn what is the difference between men and women, they both have two private parts. Just because the baby is breastfed doesn't mean it's NOT a sexual organ, otherwise it wouldn't produce MILK.
Actually, breasts are not a sexual organ. Breasts have been sexualised by society. They're not the same as penis, testicles, or a vagina because they have no sexual function whatsoever. There's nothing wrong with women whippin their boobs out to feed their babies and if you object, then you're a particularly ignorant overly sensitive piece of human filth and your opinion is irrelevant.
@Overthrow Actually breasts are a sexual organ, what does a breast not do that other sexual organs do? give me an example please, and yes I object, you're a piece of human filth, go troll someone else.
it's sad that you agree with such an ignorant statement by overthrow, this clown has no idea what he's talking about. anyways , I don't mind the cover up, however, there no reason for a woman whose a mother to breastfeed in public without having a cover? I don't see the need to just take the child to the restroom if it doesn't really want the cover or nagging horribly. It's not like the baby's gonna die, some things people need to be comfortable with, for example, why should someone pay 15 dollars to see a movie, to just hear a whining baby every 2 seconds? You know what I mean? No one paid their hard earned money to hear a baby cry.
@mikemx55 Hey Mr know nothing, they have no real function other than to feed infants, and they have been sexualised by society. Yes, women can get aroused if you play with their nips, but please explain why that means they should be covered up. Think of all the other ways women can get aroused. By that logic all women should wear burkas and have their eyes removed because hey, they could be aroused.
@mikemx55 Alrighty then, you believe whatever you want. I could give you the history of humanity assigning sexual meaning to all sorts of body parts and twist it around and ask why you think it's okay for men to walk around in nothing but a pair of shorts. But in the end I can tell that no matter what I tell you, you've got your beliefs and you aren't letting go no matter what's presented.
Oh wow I had to make an account on this website just to reply to the dumbest thing i have ever seen. Ok so anything sexual is whatever leads to the creation of a baby everything else is there as extra in order to keep living and passing genes.
I have a question what about breasts are sexual besides them looking fun to play with nothing about breasts have anything to do with my dick. Is the fact that breasts give food sexual?
@flamethekid No one said anything about playing with them, no one said anything about a dick. I just said they are a sexual organ that lactate. Simple. you disagree? I disagree with your disagreement. I'll agree to disagree, it's just that simple.
I'm all for breastfeeding, but I do think that women should use a little coverage in public. Maybe a little blanket or something so that her full boob isn't out. I think it's a beautiful thing, but I understand why people feel uncomfortable when they see a whole boob out in public.
As you say it is a natural act - The main function of the breasts is to feed offspring - The people who are talking about the breasts being sexualised and objectified are actually the main ones doing it.
Breasts are both a sexual and a non sexual organ but they are a secondary sexual organ. When nipples are stimulated the same area of the brain for genital stimulation is lit up. People though react the way they due to religious beliefs and the entertainment industry has sexualized breasts.
I don't find it controversial at all, it's nature at work :D All animals breast feed and it's good for baby so I like the idea a girl breast feeds. It just feels right :D
Yeah I think it's ridiculous how some people can be against breastfeeding in public. It's literally what breasts are for and it's like the most natural thing in the world.
Yes!!! Thank you so much. It's so great to see some guys of our generation agree with it! I've had a group of guys around our age see me feeding her and they were completely rude about it.
There is nothing wrong with breastfeeding but with breastfeeding public. It is simply about modesty. I think every mom could find a discrete corner to breastfeed but nowadays seems like everyone wants to do it public right in your eyes. Sadly guys have dirty minds and I am sure they can jerk off on all of these photos you put with breastfed babies. So it is like a porn on the street for the side of one gender. Sadly. And for me (I am a girl) it is as if you walk topless not only low cut. It is a private thing as if somebody is doing his/her toilet needs in public. Why don't we do those then? It is nature too in the end.
Maybe don't do it in a restaurant... If you want to whip out a tittie on a park bench, airplane, or on the beach, because your child is hungry by all means. T
he kid needs to eat, but people are trying to eat, have discussions, and sometimes conduct business in restaurants. You might not feel this way, but the needs/wants of every other person in that room outweigh those of you and your child.
I wouldn't say breastfeeding itself is controversial just the fact that when breastfeeding in public its very out in the open. I have no problem with someone feeding their child but i do not want to see bare tits everywhere either. And when i have children i dont want to take them out and have them exposed to adult nudity. I get its just a human body like some say but in my opinion, although they're not technically objects, boobs have been seen as very sexual for hundreds of years. You know what else isn't a sexual object but seen as very sexual? An assh*le. The only difference between seeing a bare boob feed a child and a child seeing some womans breasts is that one has a baby attached to it and both illegal in many places.

@Overthrow Hey Mr. KNOW_IT_ALL breasts are sexual. Women do get aroused with them.
Educate yourself.

It's funny how everyone is just trying to turn this around.

Nooooo why do you have to be so IGNORANT? Ugh you and 90% of girls make me feel ashamed of being a female -_-
Ditto honestly. If you think its okay then great for you. It my opinion. If you're so ashamed its 2016. Get a penis.
