It's Good to be Uncomfortable: Adulting Doesn't Have to be so Bad

It's Good to be Uncomfortable: Adulting doesn't have to be so bad

I've recently been stretching my limits in the comfort zone. I've defied my family's expectations, taken risks (thought out risks, mind you), and done what I felt I should, not what I felt others wanted me to do. I think I've started to become comfortable with being uncomfortable.

So many people these days play their lives safe. I've noticed an alarming amount of young people hindered with anxiety and depression. I think a huge reason this is so is because we think happiness equals ease. Maybe this is old news to you, but I'm just starting to figure out how to be happy when things are hard, and when you might be on your own. Moral of the story: if you want to do something but are scared, do it! Shia Lebeouf it and just do it! I've grown so much as a person and become so much happier as I've started expanding my horizon and been comfortable with failing. Failing is a chance to learn.

So talk to that girl you think is cute in school. Take that dance class, who cares if you're good or not? Take the better job offer and move across the country, life is an adventure. I don't know if I'm doing this right or if this is totally stupid, but I just really believe in this mantra: "there is little comfort in a growth zone, and little growth in a comfort zone"

Good luck and have a lovely day~
