hahaha I can't tell if you're fucking around or not with this post... but like seriously? men are oppressed because it is not as acceptable to wear a t-shirt by itself? and your second point makes no sense? when do people get offended for having a door held open for them haha i just really don't get how you seriously believe men are oppressed like wow
Well that's the beauty of the world, in most places people are allowed to have differing opinions :). I appreciate you reading and responding to my post. by the way obviously the t-shirt example was an exaggeration to prove a point.
Yes, it's a dumb thing to read because you're no doubt living in a culture that probably only acknowledges women as being the oppressed. You wouldn't know the discrimination men face because, simply stated, you probably are not a male. And you probably haven't ever held a door open for anybody. It's just like how men don't understand that they're apparently so privileged of a gender compared to women. In most cases, they don't feel they are.
Feminism is all for equality between the genders, until men mention how they are also discriminated against by society, more specifically, by women themselves. And then these women are in complete disbelief, because they believe that only they are oppressed and that only they should get any positive attention.
Men might not be so oppressed now, but when a society only focuses on women's issues over men's issues, then women become the superior sex while men become the oppressed. People need to be more understanding and open with one another,
rather than always trying to find ways to disprove personal experiences. Silencing this guy because of what he might have experienced or witnessed is definitely a form of oppression, and one that feminists usually have no problem doing against men. Sexism by women does exist, in fact there's a societal tolerance of misandry in western cultures which is just one other issue men face.
@PlacentaSalad I respect what you are saying but I just don't get how men are being oppressed... I'm no trying to be rude but this post doesn't really make much sense, it doesn't seem like the things discussed are really important issues? are we really going to call men oppressed because someone got mad at them for opening a door? I just don't see how these are serious issues of discrimination...

I agree with you. There's an overcompensation.
it is not reverse sexism, it is jut regular sexism
It's just sexism, and I agree.
