Blonde hair isn’t synonymous with just white people. You realize that right? There are black people with naturally blonde hair. Look it up.

I agree with you besides the fact that there are so many more important issues going on in the world and we focus on this. There are conflicts and tragedies across the world and we focus on small social issues that can be argued whether or not they are issues in the first place.

All Invented by White. So non-white who use all this are culturally appropriate. It's funny why no one complains about hair with 1000 chemicals that Beyoncé uses.

Who cares a lot about this is why there is nothing else to do. Normally Progressive SJW.

You do realize cultures have been appropriating other cultures for thousands of years right?

I am not particular a fan of it but that's just how it is, pretty much every culture on earth I guarantee you borrowed something from another culture.

    Cultural Appropriation
(Also a funfact, dreadlocks aren't from black culture. The oldest recorded history for them are from Egypt and the Scandinavian Vikings, making dreadlocks apart of Middle Eastern and White culture

There are African Culture (s). There may be a "White" American Culture. There may be an African-American Culture or "Black" American Culture.

      Culture is specific.

Race is not. Race is weird, nonsensical, and fruitty.

I'm going to need you to learn the difference between cultural appropriation, cultural appreciation/exchange, and cultural assimilation before making myTakes as ludicrous as this one.

"Am going to need you to learn" Your are more concerned with throwing things back at people than actually learning from what they are telling you. If you were serious, you'd look up the terms she gave you.

Since ole boy here clearly wants to be difficult I'll bite the hook a bit on the difference between appropriation vs appreciation vs. assimilation. Appropriation is taking credit for something that's of significance to another culture/people and claiming it as your own making it trendy, profitable, and not giving credit where credit is due when the people you've stolen it from are still suffering from putting those parts of their culture into practice. Appreciation of another culture is learning about their practices, styles, struggles, and more as a way to gain more knowledge of those people as a way of honoring them and their culture, and if you're welcomed enough you can partake in it without backlash. Cultural exchange is when cultures voluntarily exchange customs and practices with others while still giving credit where credit is due with decent understanding of its origins and significance.

Cultural assimilation is when you're being forced to adopt customs of another culture while being stripped of or getting rid of most of your own culture as a means to conform to the standards of the culture in power so you won't be treated like shit in their society or worse because the culture/people in power see your culture as bad and unwelcomed in their area.

Yes but this is true for all dominant cultures. Very rarely will any person have to strip every aspect of their culture to conform to societal rules. That’s just the nature of society. The dominant culture will set its norms and anything outside the norm might be seen as odd in some cases it could be dangerous in particular regions but this not the case in the majority of regions. If some decided to wear traditional clothing very rarely will that person be presented with a dangerous outcome. They might have to deal with ignorance from older white Americans but very rarely will it present a danger or outcast situation. Although l don’t agree with companies asking people of color to straighten their hair that would be unfair to reject domes natural biological appearance. As for clothing if companies have a uniform policy well all have to abide.

There are times when it's more than ignorance from older white Americans and it turns into full on assault. I've actually seen in person that verbal and physical assault that a minority can receive for putting something from their people into practice. Like when my befriend Jocelyn starts speaking Spanish with her sister and you have a bunch of asshole young men telling them they're in America and should learn English while saying they should "go back to Mexico (even though my friend and her sister were born here), and even going as low as calling them be*ners and wetb*cks as if it was funny. These will be the same assholes that also go on about how "hot and spicy" Latina women are when they're horny enough. And don't even get me started on the amount of times my ass has been called a ni**er every time I call shit like that out.

Exactly, the more we evolve as a society the more interconnected we come. America is a melting pot it’s envitable that cultures will fuse. America and all it’s restaurant took elements from other cultures and modify them. There is nothing inherently wrong with modifing elements of another culture it’s all around us.

Cultural appropriation doesn't exist. People from all over the world came to America, and they brought their culture with them, and their culture became part of American culture.

You need to watch the video on youtube where an African male states that it isn't appropriation. And he explains how even African Americans/Africans are "appropriating" dreadlocks because not all African cultures share dreadlocks as a culture. Only a few have it and within those few, only warrior men are allowed to wear them.

It's hilarious because they think all Africans share dreadlocks as a culture when in fact only a few have it and in many of them the women are not allowed to wear dreadlocks. It's specifically for the warrior classes. So, if they want to go and say that it is cultural appropriation (when it isn't) then a lot of Africans/African Americans themselves are appropriating it. LOL.
