Being a Slave to Social Platforms

I'm sharing my opinion on people being slave to the society because it's an important matter that really deserves more attention in my opinion.

People nowadays find themselfs in pretty odd situations most people never really considered a threat or something you'd have to worry about, even though they couldn't be more wrong.

Often when i'm searching social platforms i see people in general (so not just girls) who are seeking attention and approval from anyone who sees their new post and subject. It doesn't matter whether you're popular (it does a little but not too much) or not, but the fact that people will like their post is all they live for sometimes...

People never realise that at some point their addiction turns into a must with a need to approval/liking from others just for the sake of their social status, without seeing the danger in it. This is, not only a bad thing for the "enslaved" but also a very unkown or not-willing-to-see subject to the people around it who aren't addicted to it. You'd find someone addict to its social platform just to find out that his/her friend is encouraging them to go even further for more followers or likes or whatever suits the social platform.

The fact that people are being driven in a corner and might respond unexpectedly to their lack of stats can even cause situations like suicide, without the public caring it, or seeing the danger of it for the sake of others. That means that, just like depressed people or suicidal people, social slaves could end up doing the same thing without the public realising/seeing it, only to find out it's too late when they do.

I (luckily) don't have the experience of being slave or having friends in such situations, but i definitely do fee like this should earn way more care and attention than it does at this point.
