There is a difference between 'Big Girl' and 'Fat Girl'. The latter is a choice, the former is not. If you want to be less fat then eat less, or better, and move more. It's not any more complicated than that. All the whining about how people perceive you is wasted emotion.

People get fat when they take in more calories than they burn off. Fact
Its no ones fault but your own if you get fat. Fact
Losing weight is as simple as reversing the process by which you got fat. Fact
If you're too lazy to lose weight, you deserve to be fat. Fact
If fat is what you want to be, fine but dont call it anything other than what it is. My opinion
fine. the opinion of a girl who still has a lot to learn in life. I was naive and simple-minded too when I was your age. Took me travelling around the world and a bit of growing up to know that things are not always as simple as teens think they are.
Had to travel around the world before you figured out what exactly? That being fat is actually awesome, totally healthy, and not your fault if you get that way? You shouldve fuckin stayed home😒
So you are fat... are you gonna accept that and not do anything against it? You want to stay fat? very well don't come whining because no one wants you. You are doing everything you can to lose that fat because you realise that you are not happy the way you are and you never will be in that current body : you have my full support. You want to stay fat and ask privileges while you're at it? "men should look at fat women too, we should get fat seats on airplanes, we should not be looked down upon for being fat" yeah no i am gonna make fun of you in that case
"You are doing everything you can to lose that fat because you realise that you are not happy the way you are and you never will be in that current body : you have my full support." but despite all the effort, we are still the butt of society. Just look at what people are saying here. Only generalisations... as if ALL fat people are inherently nunhealthy. as if ALL fat people don't workout and try to be healthy. I know that I, for one, am healthier than some skinny people I know. Despite my BMI. No diabetes, because I watch my sugar intake. No cholesterol either. I know people who are skinny and young and have diabetes and kidney disease (high salt intake) etc. I get your second point and I disagree with those people too.
I absolutely agree with you when you say you're human too. You, as a human being, deserve to be treated with respect regardless of your weight, height, skin color, and so on. Still, I don't think being fat is a good thing. It is extremely unhealthy, just like using drugs, smoking and more things like that. Being fat leads (generally) leads to diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease, so I don't think anyone should take pride on having a unhealthy lifestyle.
I get the people may be overweighted, but I feel they shouldn't behave like turning this is to some kind of blessing. For both men and women, if it is not a health problem, every human should care about their weight and other stuff, because the more you eat or you gain weight, it starts causing heart and else problems.
My words are to those who are just lazy to do anything also who just loves to eat and also expects everyone to like them. The nature has a balance, there is a chance but it is rare you to see a doctor and construction worker gets married for example or a scientist.

Fat people are even kinda popular in some African countries. Except that if they actually lived in Africa, perhaps they weren't that fat. Hmm.
Anyway, so now fat people not only don't wanna be shamed, they wanna become the society's role model? Let it be known that most of those fat people wouldn't even be fat if they led a healthier lifestyle, and by that I don't mean going to the gym but just plainly eating less sugar. Granted that today's lifestyle doesn't really promote homemade meals everyday, but yeah.
"Numbers don't mean a thing" to a point that's true and then you cross the line into cardiovascular disease, diabetes, sleep apnea, joint problems... This any number is fine business only hurts overweight people. It's not good for you, it's not good for your children and it's not good for society in general. They don't need to be disrespected but pretending like being overweight isn't a problem is helping no one.
We need to find a middle ground, here. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Shaming overweight people is completely wrong and uncalled for. Heck, just shaming anyone in general is just so. Why not show them there's a better way instead of just blatantly insulting them?
However, acting like being overweight is perfectly healthy, and encouraging it... it's also just as wrong.
We needn't encourage being overweight, but we also needn't shame overweight people. We need to take a more in-between, neutral stance on this.
fat pride shouldn't be a thing. its not healthy. if you want to be self destructive that's on you. I won't treat someone rude just because they're fat though. But there's no way in hell that my future children will be like that. they will take care of their bodies. Your body is a temple not a trash bin

I agree about the bullying, I dont agree about the whole "numbers is just a thing". Science measures in numbers and its proven that being big and being too big comes with a lot of health issues. As someone who was formerly large and has many issues include fertility issues, i feel my best at a low and healthy weight. My issues have become stabilized. It's like praising smoking, and being proud of being a smoker. Smoking kills, as obesity does. I dont think we should be proud of either.
can I ask how big you are? maybe those issues only come after a certain extreme has been reached. Also, people who are within the "normal" numbers can have many medical issues as well, that are caused by poor diet. I have never had any health problems because of my weight, and I know "normal"-weight people who really don't think about what they put in their mouths and have diabetes at the age of 28 or something.
Yes, you can still be skinny and be unhealthy. But is still does not make it okay. Even if you are thin. Being thin comes from genetic metabolism- a science that uses numbers. And actually, a lot of skinny people end up gaining weight later on when their metabolism changes due to aging. Being large and eating unhealthy does not make it okay either. Just because you dont see any issues now doesn't mean there are underlying issues. It still does not negate the fact that you can end up with diabetes or high cholesterol or heart disease when you're older. There are articles and so much research tying obesity to health problems. It has actually been a nationwide problem in America because now you have obese people with health problems everywhere. You are only 29 but it is possible it will catch up to you. Here is a medical article listing the dangers of being obese and explanations of the dangers ://www. niddk. nih. gov/health-information/weight-management/health-risks-overweight
Being fat should not be praised, it should be helped. Its an unhealthy thing. I am not saying stop being fat, i am saying stop praising people and making it seem like its not a big deal. Obesity is a problem not a blessing.

I have friend zoned big girls before but I have NEVER bullied or teased fat guys or girls unprovoked.
However I have met plenty fat guy/girls who bully skinny people of insecurity. If we talk back and point out the obvious that's considered politically incorrect but at the same time we are supposed to give fat assholes a free pass?
To be fair I"ve met plenty of heavy people who have awesome personalities. But overall it's usually 50/50. They are either really nice or really not. No in between.

There's a difference between thick, and fat. There's also a difference between skinny people, and anorexics. People like healthy.
what you're saying are different variables. health has no direct correlation with body size. You: there's a difference between limes, and lemons. There's also a difference between a pickle and a cucumber. People like horses.
You are saying a person with a 800 lb body is "healthy"? Lol, I think the point of my remark flew straight over you head. People like healthy, or if you really need me to expand, since that was too complex for you, people like people who are at healthy weights. Not fat or anorexic.
Those numbers dint "define" you. Those numbers just represent your health. This is quite serious. Being fat isn't something to ignore and try to PR campaign into social acceptance. It's a serious health issue which needs to be taken seriously and addressed with real action and effort to try and lose weight and be healthy.
except I take care of my health. I eat things in moderation, and I exercise multiple times in a week. Changing my size is harder than maintaining my health. Am I not a human now to you?
You are encouraging people to die. You are an accessory to it. So when they die 20 years too young, you and all the people who encourage this are partly responsible for their death.
and if people kill themselves because of fat shaming, who's responsible for that, then? Should society just continue fat shame people, then creating all sorts of mental issues, than to just spread love and acceptance?
Where did you say it? This entire take is saying it. By promoting acceptance of obesity, you are promoting people's death. Obesity itself, and the things that lead to it (poor diet and lack of exercise) are leading causes of death.
Where are the people promoting smoking acceptance? Obesity is a worse for the health than smoking, yet somehow it's perfectly OK to treat smokers like lepers, but the worse killer obesity should be accepted. Smoking is on the decrease, at least partly due to "shaming". Obesity is on the increase, at least partly due to the fat acceptance movement.
Obesity should NEVER be accepted. It's a major problem which has gotten a lot worse.
My intention is not to "shame" anyone. My intention is to counter all this fat acceptance nonsense. You ARE promoting death, and I'm trying to counter that.
Let's get something straight. Society is more accepting to big girls nowadays. Every Target ad ever features at least one or five big girls. And the recent jean ad from Old Navy had tons of big girls in it. And more guys like big girls more than anything. So... just... yeah.
Ok, ladies it's great you are happy about the burgers you eat and all those yummy fat foods. Well die an early death. Enjoy the diabetes, should save up for that electric scooter. There is nothing great about being fat! You can't run. Again I just find it stupid for women to say FAT is ok because you don't like to work out or loose weight,
No, just no. Fat people are seen as lazy. you're not attractive because it's basic human instinct to be attracted to people who are in shape and are fit for survival. No one is oppressing you. Just suck it up and actually do some work, a little struggle didn' hurt anybody.
I don't think there should be any "uniting" - I don't LIKE the way big, fat, overweight, obese, whatever girls get treated, but the bottom line is, it's not healthy, you're likely not going to be attractive to a load of guys or girls, you're quality of life & lifespan plummets pretty quickly.
My question to you, is why can't skinny, fit, or whatever women not have a big personality or heart too? You talk about wanting to be treated as equals, but you don't do it yourselves.

This post keeps popping up, and I don't want to answer it, but it won't go away!! Should I say something Horrible, just to make it go away, or maybe the moderators/managers of the site can stop these kind of 'features' from bothering some of us who don't want to respond, like maybe with a click box that says "DOESN'T RELATE TO ME" or "NOT INTERESTED" and go away!!

no. My BMI is 33 and I'm fucking healthy. Many skinny people are less healthy than I am.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Ask to speak to their doctor first before you open your mouth and judge them.
That's an unhealthily high BMI. Nothing wrong now doesn't mean health.
You're at a higher risk of pretty much everything than a healthy weight person.
