Not to step on your mytake but the only thing that has happened so far is the rate of accusations, rise of lonliness, plummeting marriage rates, and men not wanting to work with women anymore. All this in the short span of 10 years and that's due to how feminism is defined today.
What is this alleged patriarchy supposed to mean to me when much of my success is contingent on getting along with colleagues, educators, friends and relatives of BOTH sexes? If my idea of masculinity is somehow harmful to the women in my life, they or someone close to them are going to let me know about it. So far it hasn't been an issue. No one had to sit me down and give me a bunch of gobbledygook about "redefining my manhood." It was just common sense that you simply try to be a decent human being while striving for a life that makes you happy.
@Cherokeehp How have they been forced into boxes? They've actually been able to be themselves according to biology. When you go against nature, it doesn't work and it only hurts.
Patriarchy took us from living in caves to landing on the moon. Yes it imposed a few gender roles but take a look around. That system works. Now lets look at feminism. It kills babies en mass with abortion. Removes fathers from the home which by the way leads to the vast over crowding of prisons. It belittles the roles of a home maker and mother hood. And it basically claims that men are the devil.
100%. As much as feminists would argue this about patriarchal cultures, a feminist society is completely dysfunctional and is therefore unsustainable.
The difference between a successful culture vs a failing culture is pretty much about natalism vs anti-natalism. In order for any culture to survive it needs to reproduce itself. If it doesn't do that it will be replaced by a culture that does. Patriarchy is pro-natal, feminism is anti-natal. Patriarchy is pro-family, feminism is anti-family.
Feminists and effeminate men tend not to have many children if any at all. That's why these feminist phases come up and disappear very quickly.
Rome is the most obvious example, but there are plenty more examples. Cultures always seem to go through cycles, and it seems to be inevitable. I just find it funny that so many people today think that all of the "future is female" stuff is even real.
I agree with this. Though I would never want to wear heels myself, I actually view heels as probably patriarchal in origin. I see the true gender expression of all people as individuals as agender gender expression. Allowing it to vary authentically by personality of the individual.
Hey man, woman, whatever you are, it's fine you do your own thing, but when you start trying to say this behavior is normal is where I have to disagree, if going to women's talk was normal male behavior, why were you the only male there? Come the fuck on, stop trying to normalize this utter horseshit.
I only know one thing. Only men can define what is or is not masculine. I have no idea about "patriarchy" or whatever that is. But when it comes to manhood. . . that's an all man kind of thing. It has nothing to do with how women define themselves.
I know you mean well friend but men will always be judged for being feminine, especially by other women. Most of the times I've been judged harshly for acting feminine, its been by other women. I pretty much don't show any emotions around my female friends anymore and I avoid doing anything around them that might make them think I'm feminine and girly.
Men are made. Not let to women's talk and comedic romance crap while wearing a pink undie. Men are made. XX and XY we like the X but made and should stick to the Y. We are born to be taken away from being cucks. Men are made. Warriors. Conquerers. Assertive like a dick.
The patriarchy doesn't exist... Live in the real world for 5 mins and you'll realise the majority of CEO's now are women. And it's actually pretty hard for a man to get ahead in life. It's a lot easier for women now. Also if you're going around wearing heels and dresses that means you're a transvestite... you have a fetish. That's not redefining your manhood.
This patriarchy no longer exists. Women are no longer systematically oppressed. People only get in positions of power if they deserve it, through "merit" you could say.
I cannot think of a single situation where the patriarchy still rules.
Explain to me how pornography is patriarchal, because as far as I am aware, women are not shamed for refusing to partake in it. They may be shamed by other women and men. It is a service that is consumed by men and women alike and neither the men nor the women are forced to partake in it.
I'm going to need your help understanding how it is patriarchal. How does it benefit men and how is it detrimental to women?
As an industry it's better for men. Particularly amateur porn. Porn using trafficked women is terrible for the women yet the men are fine. Men are much less likely to be taken as a teen and raped on camera than women. The pay is also uneven given the physical demand on the women. Read up on all the health issues that arise from rough dp or anal scenes.
Pornography is a business, and as any business, it is subject to regulations and inspections for safety purposes. It's true that women are the main commodity of the pornography industry, but they also get paid higher salaries as a result, with men being paid less.
When you say porn trafficking, that takes away the legality part of the industry and is equivalent to saying that gun sale should be banned because some people illegally import guns in order to make it untraceable to the user.
The majority of pornography is legally made and with consent of all parties involved. As for the health issues, the actors are free to choose whether they want to do the scenes or not.
As a result of this, I don't see the porn industry as patriarchal, and the kidnapping of women for the purpose of raping them is made in complete disregard to the law, so if the patriarchy exists, and controls society and the government, it would not protect women from rape, as it currently does, if it did not have a problem with their safety being in jeopardy.
I never said we should ban porn, but it's also no secret that the distributors knowingly leave videos of illegal activity to remain on their sites.
Just because you love/live for porn doesn't mean it's a perfect industry. What I seek is a crack down of distribution. All porn should be licensed instead of only large companies facing regulation. Videos of incapacitated or unconscious women should be removed without exception.
I never said pornography should be banned either, nor am I defending it because I love it. The entire defense of the pornography industry turns around your belief that it is controlled by the patriarchy, that's the only point I am debating.
I'm not defending illegal pornography businesses, either. When I speak of patriarchy in relation to the pornography industry, I speak of those that are legal, have an address, pay taxes, etc. like any other business entity.
Others who are unregulated and out of control is not something I defend, nor can remotely control and again, these are a minority, so the conversation should be based on the majority and not the unfortunate minority.
You may think that you have chosen to be a feminist but hearing how weak you sound, you have no other options but to be a feminist. I'm not the most masculine guy out there but just because there are guys more masculine than me, doesn't justify me taking crap on the idea of masculinity. You're just sore and you're a little femboy who tries to degrade what he can't have which is masculinity. I usually try to empathize with guys like you but you are a lost cause. You're already a feminazi
Does this horeshit work? To get girls into bed? Cause I'd use it if it did. If not... just shut up. Nobody cares about your opinion of how everyone else should behave and think.
Maybe my brain is shutting down from lack of sleep last night.. but I feel like I missed the central thesis of yours. In a sentence or two, what is your core belief about "patriarchy" and "redefining manhood" in relation to that?
Honestly though. I feel like most men prefer to be more rough and testosterone filled and personally I dont feel as there is anything wrong with that becuase there is a difference between being masculine and being toxic about it
That last statement is an idiotic form of identity politics. I don't have a pussy but you couldn't make me stop holding onto an idea of or desire for feminine women.
Yeah, and to define "feminine" they have to have an opinion on the matter. Most women want masculine men, THEY ALSO therefore must have a definition/ opinion on what that means.
Man.. I completely misread your first note, I'm really sorry.. I feel like an idiot.. I'm not in my right mind today, my father in law just died and I'm not thinking right. I wish I could delete my first comment..
women will always despise any man whom they don't view as superior to them and super macho. it's in their nature. you can redefine all you want but women will always validate certain appearances and behaviors, which are sometimes called benevolent sexism but really it's just sexism of all kinds
@AJC997 you can redefine masculinity but you can't change what women perceive as such or better what women like in men. women, including feminists, like men who patronize them and cater to them. they want men who earn more and who appear strong and "dominant". when asked what they want in a man they say things associated with wealth, status and power. women also divorce men who lose their job even if involuntarily. they're also more likely to divorce the more housework their husband does. poorer men are undatable to women unless they're exceptionally attractive. young women are not outearning young men but does it mean gender roles have fallen? no. it means they have a harder time finding a partner because it's just female nature to want to be catered to by a macho man. they'll call you a misogynist for saying so but they admit to all of this themselves
I'm truly tired of all that stuff. What we should do is just come together and shut up for just a little while. There are many adults in the world, yet most of them are babies.
Basically, I don't have a problem with men fitting traditional male stereotypes. Many traditional male behaviors and styles are what I find attractive in men.
You don't understand the take. Its about a man being who he is without being judged as gay or feminine. Its not an article opposed to traditional stereotypes. Its an article that says stereotypes shouldn't exist. Men are diverse.
"Stereotypes" shouldn't exist is like saying cancer "shouldn't" exist. The core way humans identify on groups and stratify means we will always stereotype for good and bad.

Goodness no. That's a horrible idea. Why get rid of something that has worked perfectly since always?
But it hasn’t worked perfectly.
@Cherokeehp it works, that's the point. The alternative has never worked.
@Cherokeehp Agreed. The portrayal of men in society and what it means to be a man has harmed men and women.
@Apope16 I agree. There are some other issues too.
@Cherokeehp How so?
Forcing people into boxes tends to make them unhappy.
@Cherokeehp How have they been forced into boxes? They've actually been able to be themselves according to biology. When you go against nature, it doesn't work and it only hurts.
The OP is doing the opposite of going against nature. He wrote about how being authentic goes against social expectations.

Yep feminism is largely responsible for the collapse of Rome and now wester civilization is next
Rome is the most obvious example, but there are plenty more examples. Cultures always seem to go through cycles, and it seems to be inevitable. I just find it funny that so many people today think that all of the "future is female" stuff is even real.
Ancient Roman patriarchy legalized infanticide, and it was considered the right of the father to have the infant murdered or not.
I agree with this. Though I would never want to wear heels myself, I actually view heels as probably patriarchal in origin. I see the true gender expression of all people as individuals as agender gender expression. Allowing it to vary authentically by personality of the individual.

Actually only 5% of CEOs are women. 95% are men. www.pewsocialtrends.org/.../
@mistixs okay fair enough. Patriarchy still doesn't exist though
This patriarchy no longer exists. Women are no longer systematically oppressed. People only get in positions of power if they deserve it, through "merit" you could say.
I cannot think of a single situation where the patriarchy still rules.
The entertainment industry is an example. Many of the super-liberal industries are somewhat patriarchal.
What do you mean by entertainment industry?
Films and cartoons, or the pornography industry?
Porn and mainstream film.
Explain to me how pornography is patriarchal, because as far as I am aware, women are not shamed for refusing to partake in it. They may be shamed by other women and men. It is a service that is consumed by men and women alike and neither the men nor the women are forced to partake in it.

If you think feminism has anything to do with fighting masculinity, you're part of the problem.
Well right now everyone who has a problem with masculinity fits well among and is embraced by feminists. There must be a reason for that🤔
Does this horeshit work? To get girls into bed? Cause I'd use it if it did. If not... just shut up. Nobody cares about your opinion of how everyone else should behave and think.
I do me i gives not one fuck about stereotypes or those who perpetuate them i commend you on this my take very well thought out and written brother.
Maybe my brain is shutting down from lack of sleep last night.. but I feel like I missed the central thesis of yours. In a sentence or two, what is your core belief about "patriarchy" and "redefining manhood" in relation to that?
Honestly though. I feel like most men prefer to be more rough and testosterone filled and personally I dont feel as there is anything wrong with that becuase there is a difference between being masculine and being toxic about it
Feminist drivel.. Sorry, when it comes to masculinity. No penis no opinion..
That last statement is an idiotic form of identity politics. I don't have a pussy but you couldn't make me stop holding onto an idea of or desire for feminine women.
News flash dumb ass, most men want feminine women...
Do you prefer traditional or nontraditional women? ↗
Yeah, and to define "feminine" they have to have an opinion on the matter. Most women want masculine men, THEY ALSO therefore must have a definition/ opinion on what that means.
I'm sorry if you couldn't follow.
Man.. I completely misread your first note, I'm really sorry.. I feel like an idiot.. I'm not in my right mind today, my father in law just died and I'm not thinking right. I wish I could delete my first comment..
People don't think right most of the time, learning how to cope is part of adulthood, learning how to hide it is to be masculine.
It's fine. I myself have migraines that make me forget literally weeks of time so I'm plenty experienced in not thinking right.
DUDE that sucks. Never had one of those, but I've heard horror stories..
women will always despise any man whom they don't view as superior to them and super macho. it's in their nature. you can redefine all you want but women will always validate certain appearances and behaviors, which are sometimes called benevolent sexism but really it's just sexism of all kinds
Explain more?
It’s a good thing I’m going to college then huh
What signals a testosterone deficiency
@AJC997 yeah it's a good thing but i don't understand your question
Can you tell me what behaviors and styles women approve of vs don’t?
@AJC997 no i'm sorry. i can do politics like everyone else but i'm not in a position to do life coaching. i'm not any kind of expert
I'm truly tired of all that stuff. What we should do is just come together and shut up for just a little while. There are many adults in the world, yet most of them are babies.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion.
Ok... did you have your own thoughts on the matter?
Basically, I don't have a problem with men fitting traditional male stereotypes. Many traditional male behaviors and styles are what I find attractive in men.
You don't understand the take. Its about a man being who he is without being judged as gay or feminine. Its not an article opposed to traditional stereotypes. Its an article that says stereotypes shouldn't exist. Men are diverse.
That's because your head isn't fucked up.
"Stereotypes" shouldn't exist is like saying cancer "shouldn't" exist. The core way humans identify on groups and stratify means we will always stereotype for good and bad.
Well, women who use chainsaws, have short-lesbian hair, and otherwise exhibit male characteristics, will be defined by many as "masculine".
@Apope16 Thanks for mansplaining that to me. My feeble female mind couldn't understand the complexity of your male diatribe.
@drippinghoney
What types of styles and behaviors are you taking about?
