For 120 years the USA has been toppling governments to suit their interests often resulting in dictatorships and more extremist leadership than was in place before and keeping the country more poor underdeveloped and with less rights than before. In the beginning it was banana companies in South America, Iran, arming the Taliban in Afghanistan, getting involved in the drug trade in South America, torturing innocent people in Guantanamo, lying about WMDs in Iraq the list never ends. They're using their power to make sure fast food companies can become dominant in poor countries and they don't care how many people die because of that.

Today they're funding and arming terrorists all over the world to use them if some country is not complying enough with their interests. Like Gaddafi who wanted to create a currency for all of Africa and suddenly his country was full of terrorists and he was killed.

But these things get very little attention in the media often it's the American official version of events that gets reported even all across Europe. There's very little critical journalism about the U.S. mostly it's when someone like Bush or Trump is in office they make fun of them a bit and the ridiculous things they say but it's never about what they're actually doing.

Ukraine conflict

Zelensky became an international hero overnight and Putin got compared to Hitler as soon as the war in Ukraine started. All across the European press this story gets milked nonstop. But in my entire life I've never seen this kind of coverage about any American war. The leader of the invaded country is always the bad guy. It's universal. Nobody is like hey does America even have the right to invade this country? How many people are dying? Should we send weapons to help the resistance? What impact does this war have on the global economy? Should we declare sanctions against the USA?

Are people blind?

Everybody says the Russian propaganda is so influential but my entire life I've lived in a world where the narrative gets completely controlled by the USA and most people don't question it don't even think about it. It takes decades to see through all the lies and understand what's actually going on. How is it that we know about what the American government has done in the past but nobody thinks about that they're doing the same things right now.

They're torturing people right now, they're killing civilians right now, they're selling arms, training and supporting terrorists right now, they're involved in illegal business right now, they're undermining governments in poor countries right now, they're committing war crimes and taking away peoples human rights, they're committing war crimes, they're killing civilians right now, they're exploiting poor countries and taking their resources. They might be doing false flag attacks to justify some action they really want to take.

It's just very stunning to me to see how American propaganda is so prevalent that it just gets seen as "reality" but Russian propaganda which is doing a pretty bad job considering Ukraine is being supported by literally everyone gets painted as this immense threat that is brainwashing people and taking over their minds. Yes very scary.

Yeah, I don't know. I think you've taken a bit of an extreme stance here. Does America have/use propaganda? Yes, of course. Does the government and military sometimes commit atrocities? Yes. Do they invade other nations to gain control over valuable resources? Do they virtue signal? Yes. Are all their 'peacekeeping' missions actually peacekeeping? No. Do they torture prisoners of war? Do they detain without just cause, legally, to use as collateral as trades? Yep on that too.

However, America has also legitimately gone into to stabilize certain conflict zones, because of that nation's own problems, of civil war, religious zealots rejecting other religions, to subdue terrorist extremist groups... etc etc.

Is oil and power and image important to America? Hell yes. But there are many things, which other nations and governments do, that America does not, so they are certainly not the worst of all evils. They do not poison those who oppose the leader (Putin.) They do not create an unavoidable surveillance system where all activity, all travel, all purchases, everything is tracked, rating/rubber stamping all citizens with a 'social score' (China.) They do not ignore and essentially starve their citizens, with zero social support (various third world countries.) I just watched a documentary on how China [mis]handled Covid, lied to its citizens, lied to the world (saying officially there were 3300 deaths when in fact the number was over 30,000, at least, based on burials.) If we're comparing propaganda machines, America is far behind Russia and China. America still has free speech. It's being encroached on a little, but Americans also take it way too far (sometimes, some of them), essentially trying to dismantle democracy, and anything else they don't agree with. They could use a little China, Russia, Korea, to thank their lucky stars for what they do still have.

The Vietnam War was a blight on the moral, and moral high ground, of the good old U. S. of A. Many citizens rallied against this, made their anger well-known. It's not really true to no one calls out America for their propaganda. There's plenty of conversations happening inside homes at dinner tables, at restaurants, parties, on leisurely walks in parks (I hear all of these, regularly), and the internet is still a relatively free and unchecked place, where opinions often run rampant, unimpeded. But no, you won't as often find the citizens of a nation speaking up; nor the media outlets. Because there are consequences to doing these things. In China and Russia, they jail and kill these people.

There have been many Hollywood films seriously critical of the American government's actions, on the global stage. Wag the Dog is a somewhat farcical take on how effective propaganda can be. Good Morning, Vietnam takes a very sympathetic character, Robin Williams as a DJ who eventually sympathizes with the Vietnamese, and what the ravages of war has done to his fellow soldiers. Born on the Fourth of July is Oliver Stone's story of a biography of Ron Kovic, a paralyzed Vietnam War vet who becomes an anti-war and pro-human rights political activist. I could list more but these are the first that come to mind.

Jane Fonda, infamously, derogatorily nicknamed G. I. Jane, back in the 1970s, was a huge critic of the Vietnam War, and I believe she has been ever since, of America's bombasity. George Clooney's father was a very serious and quite prestigious journalist, and both are well-versed in American politics.

I think perhaps you just don't see the examples, but they exist. I am not indoctrinated into the American culture. I grew up above it (some might say, in its shadow, or having the annoying louder older brother), so I see a lot of what is does, and the arrogance and manipulations. But it is not always in the wrong, politically, globally. When oil and minerals are not the main motivator, sometimes they do actually spend piles and piles of money, and casualties of its citizens, to stabilize war-torn areas. Sometimes they should mind their own f'ing business and not play this moral high ground shit. But it's a land built on immigrants (many of them forget that, claiming it as their own, because they were born there), and it's a pretty feisty, bold bunch, with a lot of bravado about how great it is. I think more so, it's really the potential of what it can/could be, not the reality, which is something darker, bastardized, and often unrealized. But I believe in giving credit where credit is due. It's kind of a shit show right now, but that's what you get with a completely not-homogenous society, of such varying backgrounds, and expansive geography. Japan's only got ~ 1% foreigners/expats. It's difficult to assimilate there. In America, you at least have a chance of making a life. It has the possibility of working hard, and it will pay off. What I think America needs (a lot more of) is humility; and genuine curiosity, about how other nations/cultures live. If they were more open to that (such as your nation) they could learn a lot. But American culture remains the most pervasive, and influential, worldwide. It's often a dream, a fantasy, but I can tell you that a significant portion of its citizens know that it's not all is cracked up to be, it has its problems, and they are not buying into everything (or sometimes anything) the government tells them. Trust has been broken, corruption has been uncovered, and credibility lost. There's plenty of skeptics and dissenters now. Some are quiet about it, and some are loud, but they are questioning much of what is being shovelled at them.

Yes but the Vietnam War is just one war they've been doing these things non stop. Some of them are just less known and less widely discussed but they're constantly fighting somewhere. I do agree there are countries that abuse their own citizens worse than the U. S. but when it comes to global military presence and actions in foreign countries there's nobody even close to the power that the U. S. has.

And that's why I think they should be the most scrutinized country in the media but that is not the case at all. In the European media I don't know how things are in the rest of the world. That's what I have an issue with. Yes there are people who try and hold them accountable but they are usually a very small voice. The mainstream media will not shake the boat unless it's something that is unavoidable like the leaked pictures of the prisoners of war. And the Iraq war that was probably the only time where the media was pretty critical.

But the U. S. is active with their military in places they shouldn't be without declaring war all over the world every day since the patriot act got passed and it's just accepted for the most part.

That's why I want them to be challenged more and also because I think it's ridiculous that people are aware of all the things the military and intelligence machine has done in the past but they don't assume they're doing similar things right now. We'll find out in 50 years all the shady things that have been going on and people will be shocked maybe or not but they won't demand any changes. I just want there to be more accountability and scrutiny that's all.

No not really. I think it's partially because UK and France are involved with the us in the same shady shit but also I don't know just the American influence that is everywhere through entertainment. I don't really understand all the reasons for it but the media just is very light and goes along with whatever the official storyline is.

The only time in my life was the Iraq war when I was like 12 and there were demonstrations all across Europe and people knew it was bullshit and they cared but the foreign policy hasn't changed since then and people don't care. I think maybe it was just the brazen obvious lies that got people to pay attention then or I don't know what it was exactly. Like everybody knew it wasn't Iraq that did 9/11(which was the first attempt at justifying the war) so the whole justification dance they were doing just seemed absurd.

US propaganda is never talked about because its the most effective propaganda there is. People eat up whatever media spin they are fed. whatever Hollywood movie comes out, etc. Its actually very similar to Brave New World, just make the populace look the other way and think that their version of things is the safe way of doing it.

Warning to Republicans. What the Democrats are trying to do is to create a civil war within the Republican Party. They know that they cannot prevent Trump from running in 2024. So what they are doing is throwing all kinds of false accusations and non-stop assault on Trump so that Republicans will say to themselves, let’s not vote for Trump for 2024, let’s support DeSantis instead… not because they don’t agree with Trump but because they say to themselves “I like Trump but he has so much baggage. Why not support DeSantis instead so we don’t have to deal with that baggage.”

But what you have to understand is that Trump isn’t just going to go along with that. He was bombarded by the Democrats with false accusations, fake impeachments and a stolen election in 2020. Now he had his house illegally raided and his Constitutional rights violated and more false accusations and he isn’t even president anymore. He isn’t just going to roll over and say “Okay let’s give the nomination to DeSantis.” Would you after all of that? You can bet that Trump won’t. He will fight like a warrior poet to defeat DeSantis and anyone else who tries to deprive him of what he surely and justifiably views as justice and vindication… winning the presidency for a second term.

I have nothing against DeSantis. But it is not his time. It is Trump’s time.

And so the Democrats are hoping that by these repeated, vicious and illegal assaults on Trump they can start a civil war among Republicans and you will just get tired of it and give up on Trump. Be stronger than that. This is about the future of your country. Who cares what the Democrats say about him and their treasonous assaults on him. We know the truth. Stand by it and do your duty for the country.

The Democrats are terrified of Trump… more than any other candidate or person in the country. The reason is that he is a results driven businessman, not a corrupt political insider. He is not willing to play ball with the corrupt political establishment. And most of all… his policies WORKED and made every facet of life better for American citizens, while the corrupt lunatic Democrats’ policies are a catastrophic failure causing immeasurable pain and suffering for Americans. The Democrats HATE that Trump was such a success. It crushes their entire ideology and platform. Their failed agenda cannot compete with his success and they hate that he is NOT corrupt. So for 7 years they have been working ceaselessly to destroy him because he is not one of their own. BUT HE WILL NOT LET THEM. He is a fighter and will not let anything stop him. He is the Democrat’s and corrupt Washington establishment’s biggest nightmare and THAT is what is behind their ceaseless and desperate assault on him. He represents an existential threat to the Democrat’s socialist/communist agenda so there is NOTHING they will not do to stop him… illegal tactics, violence, fake indictments … you name it… anything to try to discourage you from supporting him.

I think it is inevitable that Trump will be the Republican candidate for 2024 and so do the Democrats. They know they can’t stop him. And when you look at this guy’s determination and superhuman fearless strength, I don’t see any way you can have your money on anyone else to defeat him in the 2024 general election. That’s why the Democrat’s are having seizures over Trump.

The biggest risk is that the Democrats will be successful in dividing the Republican party and making Republicans afraid to let Trump be their candidate.

DON’T FALL FOR THAT! Don’t let the Democrats trick you into picking the wrong candidate with lies, fascist tactics and deception. If you want to save this country support Donald Trump all the way. The more they attack him, the more you should support him. He is America’s last best chance to avoid going down the same socialist/fascist/communist tyrannical rathole that has destroyed countries all over the globe. The Democrats know it and so should you.
