My views on Ron Desantis

Americans are trying to find out who Ron is.
He just ran for president, against the man who got him to the position he’s at. He banned books from schools. He trucked illegal imagrants to the Democrat politician’s backyards. He must be facist(for banning material that don’t line up with his agenda), disloyal(for running against the man who endorsed him), and racist(for using taxpayer money to send immigrants to democrats backyard for politics).

Ron Desantis ran against the man who endorsed him, sure. But sorry ultra-maga Trump HAD HIS CHANCE at four more years in 2020. He failed. It’s time for new leadership. Period.

We as Americans need to WAKE UP and stop trusting the media. ANYTHING you hear on CNN, FOX NEWS, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NEWSMAX, needs to be FACT-CHECKED. They’re trying to cast Desantis as dangerous, scary, racist, exactly what they did to Trump that give him his reputation.

He has done a great job in Florida. He subscribes to a lot of the same America First policies that Trump introduced. The Marthas Vineyard illegal alien invasion he did was pure genius. Not only did he rid his state of a busload of future lifetime welfare recipients but embarrassed liberals and democrats.

In Florida, books are "banned" at the local level, not by the governor. They are reviewed by a locally-appointed panel and a decision is made to remove them or not due to inappropriate content for the age of the students and the fact that it's a public school setting.

TBH, it makes no sense for DeSantis to run against Trump in the primaries, and he would also have been better off completing his term as governor before running in 2028. Maybe he thinks Trump will have to leave the race or maybe he wants to face Newsom in 2024 rather than in 2028. The argument being made that DeSantis is using this run to benefit himself financially rather than winning is a plausible one, but would seem to greatly reduce his chances of ever winning the presidential nomination (if he actually wants it).

I think he’s willing to “play ball” with the oligarchy. They could use someone who will still keep foreign policy, monetary policy—in other words, neoliberal globalism—off limits for debate. They’ll let him slow down the “woke” for a term or two with some fake victories while it festers in the institutions. But, there are still many in the inner party (DNC) who want complete control. I wonder if DeSantis can stop hundreds of thousands of ballots with a single-candidate (Uncle Joe) selected from showing up at “closed” polling stations in select urban areas of swing states at 4:00 AM. If not, the odds are stacked against him.

@RealMarek: He can't prevent that. Notice how well he did in 2022 when the Democrats couldn't pull those sorts of stunts. Now, if the apparatus in the swing states decides to support him, particularly the Secretaries of State, it may turn out differently. I do agree with you that the elite want a "Neocon", and you're absolutely correct that the elite do not want to share power and wealth any more than they have to.

@Avicenna It’s amazing how the states that adopted common sense voting security measures (like Florida did after the 2000 election debacle) did not have mysterious 100% Democrat single-candidate ballots show up after observers were sent home. That horrible GOP governor of Georgia, Kemp, actually made some kind of deal with Stacey Abrams concerning election regs. So Atlanta could be in play if needed, along with the cities that were used last time.

What I know is that I prefer him to Donald Trump, who I also like. I will vote for either. Both men love their Countries (RDS, his State. Both are Libertarian populists. We need new blood in the presidency. I want to see DeSantis versus Robert Kennedy in November.

I like it that both men are devout Catholics; one Sicilian, One Irish. Being one, I know what they are thinking.

I just wish he and Trump would mend fences and team up. Just as Trump should have mended fences and teamed up with Ted Cruz in 2016. I dare say that had Ted Cruz been Veep in 2016, Trump will still be President now, and we would not be having the wretched stagflation and criminality run rampant that we are having lately. Let's face it - Mike Pence was a dud.
