It seems hookup culture might have been a byproduct of feminism and the sexual revolution that stared in the 1960s. However, even if women are to blame for creating it wouldn't it be the women of over 60 to 70 or so years ago that created it? Since then it's been perpetuated by both men and women that probably weren't even born till the 80 or 90s. So are you angry at young women today for continuing to perpetuate hook-up culture because their gender created it with feminism and the sexual revolution? On that same token are you giving men a pass for continuing to perpetuate it since it wasn't their gender that created it? I'm not asking to be combative , I am really trying to understand this anger people have towards societal norms that started in previous generations, particularly those with a gender focus. I don't participate in hook up culture because I personally reject it as a societal norm and I know other men and women who have done the same just as a side note.

today women want equal rights that because today society is different and it doesn't come with the same responsibilities anymore. at the time politics was mostly concerned with legal regulation of work and conscription. both work and conscription were not matters that concerned women, cause neither were women a part of work nor conscription, nor did they want to be a part of it. in fact women were not eben able to fight in wars cause back then women still knew the fact that men are just more stronger and tough. and they did not want to be part of work because the male breadwinner model was still the most common and the most popular partnership arrangement at the time for men AND for women.

so the most practiced and most preferred family arrangement was: men work, women rise children. it has been like that for most of the industrial age and that was not forced upon women. women actually actively chose and wanted that.

so since today the male breadwinner model was invalidated by the horrible downwards trend in wages relative to inflation, today women do want to work and do want to participate in a dual bread winner model that legitimates a right to vote, which is exactly why they got the right to vote. additional to that, conscription is no longer a condition to have the right to vote as it has been historically. so the reasons for women to even want to vote chaged and thus the right also changed.
