Illegals are duly processed and deported. The process due is are you a citizen? If not bye.
"No-- person-- shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
Person, NOT citizen... any person is entitled to due process.
@Still-alive "No-- person-- shall be held to answer for a *capital,* or otherwise *infamous* crime".
In the United States, illegal immigration is a crime, specifically a misdemeanor for the first offense of entering the country without permission. However, it is also a civil violation, meaning it's not the same as a serious crime like theft or assault. While entering without permission is a misdemeanor, illegal reentry after deportation is a felony. Overstaying a visa, on the other hand, is a civil violation.
In the US, a capital crime, or capital offense, is a crime punishable by the death penalty. Generally, these crimes include murder, treason, espionage, and other offenses that vary by state. The term "capital murder" is used by some states like Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas, referring to specific types of murder that may be eligible for the death penalty.
An "infamous crime" is generally a crime punishable by imprisonment in a state penitentiary, or a federal crime punishable by imprisonment for more than a year. This legal distinction often leads to a loss of certain rights and privileges for the convicted person,
Illegal immigration itself is not considered an infamous crime, but it can be a crime with potential consequences. While the act of entering a country without permission is often a misdemeanor, the methods used to enter and the circumstances surrounding the entry can lead to more serious criminal charges. While a misdemeanor, it doesn't carry the same level of infamy as crimes like murder or treason.

oh ok then explain why several were sent to Cecot in El Salvador then if you say them being in the country illegally (also legally too but you will conveniently ignore that im sure) they were indeed just 'misdemeanor crimes'?
@Still-alive the United States and El Salvador have an extradition treaty, signed in 1911. It allows for the mutual extradition of individuals who are charged with or convicted of certain crimes committed within the jurisdiction of the other party.

For major crimes only. Just entering the country illegally is not listed among them here.
@Still-alive they've been tried in el salvador
No they haven’t lol. If by ‘tried’ you mean sent directly to prison without a trial? Sure but thats not what most people mean and i’d argue you’re being untruthful in arguing that.
The issue to me is there is no true check against error. A law enforcement agency is not impartial and we need someone somewhere to say "stop, lets take a look."
@Still-alive tried in el Salvador. Its up to then to turn up for their trial.
lol wow such a callous evil person. no regard for human life whatsoever.
@Still-alive commit the crime do the time.
The 'crime' of wanting to live normal healthy lives...
![Due process isn’t optional — even for “illegals”]()
this is you.
one day you and all you disgusting maga's will face justice. believe it.
@Still-alive Americans want that too but that's not going to happen with legions of ilegals.
But they aren’t just sending ‘illegals’ down there but im sure you know that. And the way you say that sounds so dehumanizing….
@Still-alive if they enter the us without permission they are illegals. They commit a crime in a country with an extradition treaty with the us they have to face the music.
illegals = animals to you huh?
@Still-alive no they equal law breakers.
I don’t believe you
@Still-alive we saw how quick liberals in Martha's vineyard deported a mere 50 ilegals to the next town. They didn't even let them stay a night in the thousands of empty houses and hotel rooms. Instead they locked then up under police guard in a church basement and had armed national guard members bus them out.
yup they were fucked in the head too as was the florida governor for cooking up that scheme to send them there.
they were all bad correct.
You're obviously not a black man. A mere accusation of a crime has falsely imprisoned us, or worse.
Due process is what makes this a democracy, not a theocracy
Republicans, hate that
Democrats hate due process, too, so don't give me that. The difference is Democrats target US citizens directly. In this case Republicans are targeting illegal immigrants.
That is a lie. Is that all you people know how to do? Really just lie and lie and lie? Aren't you ashamed of yourself and don't you feel stupid?
@msc545 is that directed to me or @DCVsMarvel2?
I don't think it was actually targeted either one of you. Instead, I think it was just random ranting on my part. That said, I believe that what I said was not entirely untrue
illegals are a group that some people don't like. I want you all to really digest that statement.
The criminal justice system is just looking to waste tax dollars and pay attorneys and judges
Hope you can hide from the leopards...
They do have due process. They have to see a judge to determine if they truly are illegals.
Illegal immigrants aren't owed due process
Still wrong.
@WhiteThought You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but both the US Constitution and the Supreme Court have taken a different view.
Still wrong
Only for verified US citizens
How do you verify it without due process?
@goaded Did they follow the legal rules to enter the US and obtain legal citizenship?
Who knows? Why shouldn't they be given a chance to prove it if they have?
That's all "due process" means. It doesn't even necessarily mean involving a judge, if you know you're in the wrong why would you bother? It means the chance to argue your case, if you have one, eventually before a judge.
That's why Biden wanted more judges.
