Women killed chivalry. If women wanted chivalry, then men, wanting win over women, would act chivalrous. However, women decided they want "bad boys", so nice guys dropped the chivalry routine and adopted the bad boy routine in order to get girlfriends. And that's how we got to where we are today.

Not all women are the same, just like not all men are the same. Personally, I don't want a "bad boy". I do like rugged men with manners. One who won't shy away from just grabbing me and kissing the daylights out of me. At the same time, I do like when a man holds the door for me. A man who can be chivalrous and "manly" at the same time gives me butterflies.

Chivalry started to lose popularity with the sexual revolution. Women no longer wanted courtesy and courtship and romantic pursuit. They wanted sex. Unfortunately for us women who actually like to be courted.

i feel the media is responsible for the death of chivalry to a certain extent. but it really comes down to the individual. i feel i'm a champion of the chivalry culture. a woman should never touch a door when in my presence... why would it die? it is something that is well known to make women weak so why would guys stop doing it? makes no sense...

    Feminism and Mazochism.
When feminism started to explode, mostly at the last 4 decades, arrogance became a fashion among women, thus subconsciously having an attraction for aggression. Gradually and naturally, this became a cancer to romanticism and chivalry, as men abandoned such means to approach a woman, having the idea that such means are outdated and no longer 'appreciated'.

If you're wondering about the mazochism thing, I can tell you that women ARE mazochists. I've seen too many examples of women saying that they like being hit by a guy (!) and especially if the guy is a crush. Also, Go check the Milgram's experiment.

I would only want help with a tyre if I was trying to make someone stop to help me. If I'm on the ground and look like I'm doing good, I don't want help. I may look like a girly girl, but I'm also a tomboy who likes cars and pretty good at things like that.
I think women are responsible seeing as women are dropping their standards in men so guys think they can get away with putting no effort in because there'll always be a woman who isn't too bothered by it.

Queen Elizabeth I who ended the tradition that any knight could create another and made it exclusively the preserve of the monarch. And since they would die faster than they were created soon the code of chivalry was gone and knighthood became a hollow rank.

Chivalry was never something done towards all women... noble men were chivalrous to *ladies*. And chivalry was done from a position of power.

Women today want to be men's equals, and they are not ladies.

I still act fine to women, opening doors for them, letting them pass firs and all that, but one time I saw a girl carrying heavy bags and offered her help, she screamed at me thinking I'm hitting on her. Women like her are the reason Chivalry is dying.

My bf still practices it. What you talking about? If when certain guys do it for a reason behind and not because it's simply in their nature or only help out pretty girls but would close the door on a not so great in looks girl that's a turn off.

Now if someone doesn't appreciate that, then why even care about that person? Move on and continue being who you are without a care.

Avoid her might be sexist, but helping her out could be deemed sexist too.

    Feminism has killed chivalry.

BUT, I also point my finger towards the PUA community. The men who call themselves "alphas" and other, who choose to be chivalrous, "betas".

The PUA community has told us men to not act like "lap-dogs" towards women, so many of us want to be chivalrous anymore.

All in all, it's a massive societal change that has got rid of it.

Chivalry was also a form of medieval combat, so unless men are willing to duel for a women's hand in marriage than... But chivalry wasn't just a sense of romantic love but national pride. The idea was be willing to go war and die for your nation (I should say kingdom) to go home to your lover. The entire thing was wrapped in it own code of ethics from warfare to courting. So yes, yes chivalry is dead, I buried it in my backyard.

Chivalry (in modern times) was men putting women on a pedestal and treating them as if they were special. They used to be special, but they no longer are, and feminism saw to that.

Feminism went a step further by generally treating men like shit, so not only is it now not OK to treat women as special, the motivation to do so has also been destroyed.

Chivalry is dead, feminists killed it and they are getting exactly what they asked for, and what they deserve.

i don't believe that chivalry is dead. but if it was to be honest (the second person that uses this account may be upset by this) i think women would be responsible. for the shear fact that a lot of women want independence from men. and chivalry has a lot to do with women being *lower than men in social status* i don't believe that they are. but that is what i believe the lowering of chivalry is caused by.

    Chivalry is just positive sexism.

Whenever you're about to do something nice for a random woman you don't personally know, you should ask yourself if you'd have done the same, had she been of a different gender, looked different, etc.

I think if more people became self-aware of their unconscious biases, the world would be a very different (better) place.

Except the actual code has very little to do with women there is only one part of the code that deals with women.

Chivalry is largely dead, at least in the Western world. Girls have awful attitudes and are looking for guys with the same awful attitude. My girlfriend is a lovely Korean girl and we are the perfect example of Disney love. Chivalry. It isn't dead, you are just looking in the wrong places.

It's women's fault it's gone. They want to be treated as equals but either it's gone or it's not because we have some women don't like it but other women will give you hell for not being a gentleman this that and the third but I think they're more of the we want to be equal women out there

Well, if someone tells you that they can open the door themselves and bitch at you, then slam the door door in front of them, lol.

Feminism and stupid women not wanting to be treated lovely. Believing that just because a man is opening a door for her automatically makes her the weaker sex. Dumbasses

I love chivalry, but I also appreciate it, when a man opens a door for me... I say thank you. There are a lot of women out there who forget that.
I feel that if a woman expects to be treated like a lady... she should act like a lady.
