What does it mean when someone calls you shallow?

Essentially, they're calling you vain. Meaning pointless, so in this context they're saying you only care about things that don't or shouldn't matter, such as looks rather than personally, the monetary worth of something rather than what it's worth to you, etc.

When you care about the so-called 'superficial' things about people. Like I'm into muscles, good looks, money, is he hygienic, and how tall a guy is. For that I've been called shallow.
