Facebook timestamp on Ipad?

Hey guys! I have a question about the Facebook timestamp while on Ipad. When using the Facebook browser on an Ipad, what does the timestamp next to someones name mean? I went to go to message my boyfriend and the timestamp says 2 hours ago. He doesn't use the new messenger to send messages, he does it through the Facebook browser (showing Facebook "F" icon) on his Ipad. Does the timestamp show when he was browsing Facebook or when they messaged someone last? Thank you all for your help!

This isn't the downloaded messenger app i'm referring too either, its when you message using your Facebook browser on a desktop or Ipad

Pretty sure it was last tiem he used Facebook chat on any plataform

Okay, thank you. Every time I see this, I ask him and he says he has not been messaging. This has been going over a period of a week and each time, he says he hasn't messaged anyone?

Just from signing in will create a timestamp? Hmm.. I didn't know that.
