Anyone else feel like being ugly is a death sentence?

You're essentially playing the game of life on expert difficulty, you have to hustle for everything in life, no respect, people don't take you seriously, if you get a "great personality" you're the guy who thinks he's so cool, make less money, way less job opportunities, no matter what your body looks like you're always ugly, etc. The list goes on and on. Whether you average to good looking people want to believe it or not, unless you have money/fame, you guys treat us like shit and our lives are completely different and way worse than you guys, it's a bold claim, I know but until you live ugly, you will never know. Oh and I'm a minority so for me it's Insane difficulty... ha. At least I'm not short though, my condolences to all the short, ugly, minority guys.

There's no denying it can pose certain hardships. Unattractive people tend to make less. They're viewed as less reliable. They're viewed as less trustworthy. Their romantic options are much more narrow. They live shorter lives. Sadly, parents are even less attentive to unattractive children.

However, since most unattractive people do not commit suicide, I would say that no, it's not a death sentence. I would prefer to live and be unattractive than not live at all.

Sorry but this is not true. Maybe during school you'll have a hard time but once you finish studying, so does this.

In a professional environment, people value you for your skills, not your looks. As for girls.. There's someone out there for everyone and it's entirely possible you may end up with someone you would otherwise have considered "out of your league".

Sorry but what you said is not true. Even in the workplace, its documented you make less money and get less job offers, and even in my experience, I've been told flat out told (in discreet ways of course) they won't hire you because of your looks.

- o for an ugly guy though he would likely have it harder getting a hot young gal and it seems most guys think not getting a hot gal is a death sentence

You know, sometimes I feel as though it may not matter so much. I mean I see relatively ugly guys with totally stunning women by their side all the damned time. I don't know what they're doing to make up for their lack of physical attractiveness, but somehow they women they're with don't seem to be bothered about it much. And there's no way all those guys are rich, so it's not about money.

I think on the whole, men are visual creatures to a larger extent than is the case with women. Women are more impressed by confidence, were we are initially more drawn to good looks. So if you appear confident and aren't a total dick, some ladies will be drawn to you.

Just a theory, of course, but it does seem plausible.

Still have yet in my entire life to see an ugly guy that isn't rich/fame/status with a hot girl, confidence doesn't do shoot when your ugly, confidence is for the average because I'm funny as fukk and always make people laugh.

@LonelyLillie13 Well, then I don't know. But I'm positive on the ugly-guys-with-hot-chicks thing. I may be a guy, but that doesn't mean I can't tell a good looking man from an ugly one. I'm also quite sure of my capacity to distinguish between average looking women and really stunning women.

As for false hope, that doesn't really concern me much. I'm no Channing Tatum by any stretch of imagination but I'm not ugly either. Just perfectly average.

Its because when you have looks to give you value that, and then you judge it more in others its just natural. Less good looking people naturally find other attributes more important. .

@LonelyLillie13 Yes exactly, women most definitely care about looks and they care more by the day. For example look at the girls you friends call hot, you are going to see a wide looking array of girls and a lot will be average or plain to you. Then ask some girls, especially if they're younger (18-29) you're going to see Nick Bateman and guys that look similar to him, just google good looking guys and good looking girls, the gulf in attractiveness is ridiculous with guys winning by a landslide.

frankly, i disagree. A woman in todays world is still largely valued by her appearance, while a guy is largely valued for his utility value. A woman without good looks is treated like a car without an engine... avoided, ignored and undesired. A man without looks but maintaining utility value will still be largely respected amongst his peers. Politics after all, is a popularity contest for ugly people... which is why ugly men dominate the field

I'm not only talking about your value to others though. Being ugly and getting shite for what you have no control over really messes with your psyche, confidence, mentality etc... especially in your young years. Even look at interviews with people who used to be fat or ugly and became attractive, they'll be the first to tell you, even though people treat me better now (which is a fukked thing in itself) the treatment they got when they were ugly/fat is still very real, affects and messes with them, so imagine that but never becoming attractive.

i have no doubt that its hard. That's not really in question here. My point though is that at the end of the day, i would always choose to be born an ugly man over being born as an ugly woman, if given the choice.

I don't care about getting girls anymore but this is the attitude that keeps ugly people down. How can you not expect ugly people to feel sorry for themselves when they've been made fun of, ridiculed and treated second class their whole life? Being ugly is a death sentence whether you feel sorry for yourself or not but like I said, you will never know what it's like until you're ugly and for your sake I pray to your god you never become it, I bet you believe that "Oh, everyone is special or beautiful in their own little way" speil, wake up and come back to reality.
