You're an idiot, dude. If you value the life of a total stranger more than your own just because they have boobs then fair enough, but don't expect anyone else to be as dumb as you. Women are not entitled to men's protection.
Your question says, and I quote "men should protect WOMEN." Anyway the main point still stands: women are not entitled to men's protection. If you want the protection of a man, you can call the cops. You're entitled to that much, at least.
That's an outdated mandate. I'd protect any woman that I care about from anything, but I probably wouldn't do anything except call the police if I see something going down on the street.

Necessary until WW2, then women learned to stand up for themselves. That lasted until the 2000s, when Patriarchy tried a come back, with the full power of the G. O. P. behind it.
anyone should protect anyone who need protecting. chivalry never used to be just about women it used to be about children, and the elderly or even anyone who was the under dog
The society say they do, but I think it should be mutual.

Anyone who can protect others should protect others. Men protecting women? Well, in a some special situation their physical strength can protect women though
Yes but man's protection toward women is more physicall while woman's protection toward men is more psycological, adoring him, raising his self-esteem etc.
I don't know what you mean by the " robbed at gunpoint " I'm not a native English speaker, can you give me an exemple / scenrio? 2. Depend why he fight if he fight for stupid reasons, yes because i don't like fighter if he fight for protect me no.
@Highpower It's the intention / gest who matter not the things if he have win or not. Some guys just runaway when there's problem that's far from being attractive.
I'm just saying because a lot of girls dump their boyfriend after getting beat up and that aggravates me (not that it's ever happened to me ) but I'll agree with you running away from problems and situations where someone close to you needs your help is unattractive.
@Highpower In my country most guys would just runaway like coward that's really boring. Hopefully not all do that. American girls do that a lot? Dump their boyfriend for that?
Yeah that's not good to run away when someone needs your help. And yes American girls do that. Getting beat up in a fight to American girls means the guy is weak and can't protect her so she goes to the guy who beats him up because he's strong and manly. Not all American girls are like this but, a lot are. I'm guessing where you live it doesn't happen much.
@Highpower Wow that's really rude from them. No it doesn't happen since in general guys just runaway like coward. If a man in the street catcall his girlfriend tell her like "I give you 30 for fuck you" the guy would just tell his girlfriend to continue walking. I really hate that. So when a guy fight for his girlfriend she wouldn't leave him if he's hurt / lost.
That's the way it should be but unfortunately it's not. American girls here are very shallow and have been brainwashed by the media on what a real man is. It's disheartening.
@Highpower Sound like what my mother tried to do with me. She tried to brainwashed me by a real man is tall, not skinny, etc... I trusted her until I meet really cool guys who were short after it seemed just too stupid to judge someone based on their look and all;
@Highpower I think the 2 difficult things in relationship is physical apperance and money. In Russia it's men who pay, in Sweden it's always 50 / 50 in USA we don't know. Lot of things / rules are unknow and make things hard. So stereotype plus unknow rules is far from helping the dating.
@Highpower I think they should only pay for the girl they prefer (American do date lot of girl in the same time so if they paid only for the one they liked the most it ll be easier).
It's much more complicated than that. I don't know how it is where ever you live but we have a lot of gold diggers here. So these woman only care about the money the guy has and not the guy himself so this causes men here to be afraid of dating in fear of running into a potential gold digger.
@Highpower So just bring the girl to a cheap / free date, if she complain you'll know she's a gold digger. Plus aren't gold digger always all very doll up? I know in France they're doll up everyday and have a certein ways to dress which make them easily noticed. We don't have many gold digger and like i said you notice them easily so. In my country we can't date multiple people at the same time only one since generally guys only ask out girl they already like. So the date is to impression them and make them love them.
That's true. And no you can't always tell they're a gold digger a lot of women are very good at pretending to be a sweet good girl when they're not. And dating multiple people isn't the norm here usually people try to stick to one at a time unless they're a serial dater.
Why "their" women? And why only women? Shouldn't I do something if I see a woman who *isn't* my wife in danger? Shouldn't I do something if my wheelchair bound brother is in danger?

Men don't have to do anything.
You're an idiot, dude. If you value the life of a total stranger more than your own just because they have boobs then fair enough, but don't expect anyone else to be as dumb as you. Women are not entitled to men's protection.
I'm a female number 1
And I don't believe men should protect women just because they're woman

Should woman protect men
@Dog19
If the need arises.
anyone should protect anyone who need protecting. chivalry never used to be just about women it used to be about children, and the elderly or even anyone who was the under dog
Yes, they're defenseless, helpless little beings. Men are stronger.
The society say they do, but I think it should be mutual.
Anyone who can protect others should protect others. Men protecting women? Well, in a some special situation their physical strength can protect women though
men dont HAVE to protect anyone or anything , its up to individual if he wants
or not
No women should not leave the house. The only women allowed in the man's world are the ones producing our children (excluding old females)
Women should bow down and serve us men... or be thrown in the brothels where they belong!!
Yes, it's a biological imperative. Women are valuable breeding stock and too weak to protect themselves.
Should woman protect men?
Yes but man's protection toward women is more physicall while woman's protection toward men is more psycological, adoring him, raising his self-esteem etc.
Not a need but I would only date men who protect me because i need protection
1. If he was robbed at gunpoint would you leave
2. If he was beaten up would you leave him for being too weak?
Would you leave him if he got ill?
Need protection from what?
@Highpower Guys who harrass girls in the street, grab them, rape them, steal their bags, etc...
I don't know what you mean by the " robbed at gunpoint " I'm not a native English speaker, can you give me an exemple / scenrio?
2. Depend why he fight if he fight for stupid reasons, yes because i don't like fighter if he fight for protect me no.
Well I also can't blame you for feeling that way since that does happen. And good thing you said no to dog19's second question.
@Highpower It's the intention / gest who matter not the things if he have win or not. Some guys just runaway when there's problem that's far from being attractive.

It really is like I get so tired of the media trying to tell people how to live. That's why dating and relationships are so difficult.
Here in the U. S the man usually pays but a, lot of guys are getting tired of it because women take them for granted.

@Highpower Where I live people are very blunt so you know directly what they search. Especially since we're in a little industrial town.
False. I protect all innocent civilians.
I love you
You should protect those that need to be protected and people you love. Guy, girl, or animal.
I would say men do because we are physically stronger, but I will admit sometimes it can feel like a burden
Yes! They need to protect their women.
Why "their" women? And why only women? Shouldn't I do something if I see a woman who *isn't* my wife in danger? Shouldn't I do something if my wheelchair bound brother is in danger?
A couple should protect each other, so yes
I've gone my whole life not protecting women.
You wanted equality; you got it. Enjoy it.
They don't have to but its romantic when they do.
