Is 19 too old to have a birthday party at a local roller skating rink?

My friend is turning 19 tomorrow. We are gonna be at the roller skating rink from 12:30pm-6pm. They do dances like the wop, wobble, macarena, chicken dance, hokey pokey, ymca, cupid shuffle, conga, cha cha slide, 2 step, limbo, juju on that beat, lean and dab and they play songs from 90's, 00s and today. I'm scared there's gonna be a bunch of kids there and their parents and we are gonna be the only 18, 19 and 20 somethings there. (18-24) and our group has 16 people in it. My parents keep teasing me about going there tomorrow, their like I can't believe your going roller skating, what do you live in the 70s, are you in elementary school, blah blah blah... ugh. Is she too old, are we gonna look weird? Its already booked and paid for.

I went roller blading at a skating rink last weekend with my boyfriend. They did the wobble and cha cha slide and everyone fell on their ass not even 30 seconds into each song. If I were you, during the dances, go people watch!!! Have your phone ready and record! Guarantee people will be falling on their asses over and over! Great entertainment

I am around the same age and wouldn't considering doing that. I would fall on my ass because I can't skate at all. Now maybe if I could skate, I would go! If all you guys can skate, I don't see what the problem is. Nobody will look twice at you. I'm sure your not gonna be the only group of late teens/ early adults there.

Nope! I didn't realize there was an age limit to use a public roller skating rink. Sure, it may not be super popular amongst teens anymore but i'm sure you guys won't be the only "older" people there. I have seen a lot of people older than you there skating and having a good old time

Only thing is that around that university-level phase, you might turn off some people by the lack of alcohol/weed. Maybe they could get a little bit tipsy/high beforehand.

No. I had my 17th birthday at one last year. We all had a blast. I really hope you guys don't care what a bunch of 10, 11, 12 years old think and that would prevent you from going. Who cares what they think? You don't even know them. I have seen people probably in their 40s, 50s and 60s with no kids there skating

My husband and I, went roller skating two weeks ago. It was very crowded but we had fun. We did not do any of the dances they did though. I am 40 and he is 46.

I love going skating and taking my daughter. I think 19 is not to old to have a party at a skating rink. They do have adult night at skating rinks, not sure if you knew that. So yes go have fun!

Nah if that's what you want to do then do it, I've seen people in their 50s roller skater and doing all kinds of crazy stuff in the rink so I doubt your going to be to out of place.

I don't know about roller skates, but ice rinks host adult party's so I don't see a difference, just change the music line up a bit.
