+1 yGroupthink. This sound like the feminism everyone is against, as well as other groups? (Mgtow) I am against both, for these reasons.
-Occurs when a group values harmony and coherance over accurate analysis and critical evaluation. It causes individual members of the group to unquestioningly follow the word of the leader and it strongly discourages any disagreement with the concensus.
Rationalization:
This is when team members convince themselves that despite evidence to the contrary, the decision or alternative being presented is the best one.
"Those other people don't agree with us because they haven't researched the problem as extensively as we have."
Peer Pressure:
When a team member expresses an opposing opinion or questions the rationale behind a decision, the rest of the team members work together to pressure or penalize that person into compliance.
"Well if you really feel that we're making a mistake you can always leave the team."
Complacency:
After a few successes, the group begins to feel like any decision they make is the right one because there is no disagreement from any source.
"Our track record speaks for itself. We are unstoppable!"
Moral High Ground:
Each member of the group views him or herself as moral: The combination of moral minds is therefore thought not to be likely to make a poor or immoral decision. When morality is used as a basis for decision-making, the pressure to conform is even greater because no individual wants to be perceived as immoral.
"We all know what is right and wrong, and this is definitely right."
Stereotyping:
As the group becomes more uniform in their views, they begin to see outsiders as possessing a different and inferior set of morals and characteristics from themselves. These perceived negative characteristics are then used to discredit the opposition.
"Lawyers will find any excuse to argue, even when the facts are clearly against them."
Censorship:
Members censor their opinions in order to conform.
"If everyone else agrees then my thoughts to the contrary must be wrong."
Information that is gathered is censored so that it also conforms to, or supports the chosen decision or alternative.
"Don't listen to that nonsense, they don't have a clue about what is really going on."
Illusion of Unanimity:
Because no one speaks out, everyone in the group feels the group's decision is unanimous. This is what feeds the Groupthink and causes it to spiral out of control.
"I see we all agree so it's decided."30 Reply

+1 yWell, I guess it is because it started out as an equality thing but now its different. You can't call yourself equal if you single yourself out. I mean I am all for equal this and equal that but not blaming everything on society or men. We females have to stick together but we shouldn't single ourselves out. You can complain about not being equal to men but the whole feminist branch makes it seem like we are superior to them. We are not. If we want equal stuff we have to make the effort in a different way. We are an equal part of society not outsiders. Meaning for me... blaming stuff on men is stupid. Thats just saying that men are this and women are that. How can we be equal when we treat another so different? Maybe my comment expresses feminist qualities but to be honest its just equality qualities LOL I am not sure if I made sense but here you go. :)

The problem is just people are idiots that's it. Instead of actually looking at what all different types of feminists are doing they only interest in what radical feminism. They don't realize that radical feminism is corrupted by white middle and rich women. But all the other feminism are not bad and feminism comes in many forms not just radical. But the less dramatic you are the less attention you get. This is why the whole Chyna and Kris K drama was on everyone radar because it was dramatic enough to pay attention too.

Good point :)
Because people like to look at the extremists of any group and characterize the entire group based just on those extremists. That way, they can pretend that there aren't any actual problems, dismiss any criticism, and have an excuse to continue with whatever Bullshit they're doing.

Exactly, good point
+1 yThere are a few aspects to this, in my mind. I think a lot of people characterize the movement by its more radical members, which is narrow minded. I also think a lot of men use it as an excuse to blame some very real men's issues on something other than the fact that a lot of men (most, even) don't take responsibility for themselves in social and political settings. You'll hear a lot about personal responsibility from the very people who spend most of their time blaming their troubles on others.
Another aspect is that even if it's true that all the battles of sexism have been won, there is still a lot of work to be done in order to keep the gains of the past 40 or so years from being eroded by a complacent population. Even though I don't agree 100% with everything Feminists strive for, I can cut them some slack because if they aren't hyper vigilant, they'll lose their gains with a quickness (something that is already happening with Mr. Trump's administration).
I also think that many of the people that complain about Feminists are those who represent the status quo and have literally never had anything to complain about, in a political sense.00 Reply

+1 ybecause a few women who claim to be feminist are actually of the belief that females are better... so they are in fact not feminists
but by in large it's the projection of anti-feminists that all or most feminists are actually female supremacists or feminazis which is of course incorrect. i think it's mostly done to try and discredit feminism or simply ignorance of the reality21 Reply- +1 y

Because I've never met a feminist who has advocated for the inequality that men face, but many who advocate for the inequality that women face and betterment of the position of women. Therefore, I think it's not about equality, it's about the female issues and how to correct them.

I've met a lot of feminists who have talked about male inequalities
I'm not a fan of feminism but not because I'm against equality of the sexes, quite the opposite. I also don't consider feminism to be about female supremacy, at least not among the moderates.
The main problem I have with the movement is how it tends to want to achieve "equality", what this tends to mean to a moderate feminist and especially to those who subscribe to notions of the patriarchy and toxic masculinity.
For most if I start investigating how they want to achieve equality and what they consider the end goal is when feminism is no longer needed in a particular nation, I generally find a lot to disagree about.
Technically if people just want to define feminism as nothing more than the desire for equality between the two sexes, I could be called a "feminist", but would absolutely refuse that label since I don't think I fit into how most organized feminists think about how equality should be achieved and exactly what it means.00 Reply
Anonymous(18-24)+1 yFeminism was originally about equality, but modern feminism is something else entirely. I won't bother to explain, it should say itself.
I don't declare myself as a feminist, and wouldn't date a feminist either.70 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Feminism is defined as a movement for equality, that is correct. Yet the actions of feminists have been of supremacy. Take the vote as an example, when the British Suffragettes started working toward the vote, most men didn't have the right, only rich land holding men. Then came the issue of the draft, men got the vote due to the fact that they were being drafted into combat, yet the suffragettes wanted the vote, but not the price that came with it (i. e.: draft) in fact many women who opposed the vote were opposed not to the vote but to the draft as they were conflagrated issues. I can give plenty of other examples as well.

Let's take the modern equal pay, there are two issues connected here as well, one is the spending gap (women SPEND more then men) and the fact that the wage gap is mostly based on women's own choices (if you're a doctor and choose to go into family medicine, then you can't honestly complain that you don't make as much as a brain surgeon now can you?). In LinkedIn there was recently an article saying that in order to close the wage gap, we must force men to use all of their available time off because women have a tendency to use more time off (again personal choice). Choice without consequence while insisting on men being responsible for not only their actions, but also women's decisions is neither fair nor equitable. Yet this is what feminism consistently lobbies for.

+1 yI think it's because many of the figureheads of feminism are or make it seem like they want matriarchal society.
I'm not for silly MGTOWs or MRAs, but you gotta admit that there are areas where there's female bias like divorce and custody cases. And no prominent feminist seems to want to speak on the issue.
However, I do still feel that feminism is still needed, but not the way it's currently being run.50 Reply 869 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Feminism pretends to be about equality.
There's just too many to list, but here's my favorite example.
If feminism was truly about gender equality, then it should not promote any gender as being superior, right? But still, they've stubbornly stuck to calling the movement feminism, and thereby sending a very subtle, yet incredibly toxic subliminal message in everyone's mind that females are the force of good.
Yet when you make an assiociation like that in people's minds, you need to be aware of the side effects. So, what is the opposite of female? Male. What is the opposite of Good? Bad. See what they did there?00 Reply

They know what white people of power did to the blacks. so they think blacks are going to do the same.
Why do some en get scared when they see women rights activists?
Same. They think women are going to do the same thing what our forefathers did to them.
Why do some dads get upset when their babygirl falls in love with a boy?
They're scared that boys are going to treat their precious princesses just like the way they once treated women.10 ReplyMen and women aren't equal. The average male is physically stronger than the average female. But we're also created to be sexually attracted to females. So the average male won't use his physicality to harm them. Actually it's just the opposite - Men usually cater to them. The problem comes into play when we give them societal freedom to openly display sexuality. Remember the average male was made to be sexually attracted to the "female". Her sexuality is powerful. It is her power. Without any restraint society will fall into a moral decay. Also she's in the

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yOriginal feminism was about equality. Modern day feminism, not so much.

In what way though
Opinion Owner+1 yOriginally, feminists fought for equal rights. Things like rights in the workplace, and voting rights. Nowadays, you have feminists wanting feminine hygiene products to be free, free birth control, and stuff like that. I don't call that equality. That's special treatment.
- +1 y
Well if by hygiene products you mean tampons or pads then i agree with them, why should women have to pay for something that naturally happens to them? What if someone couldn't afford one? i just think things like that should be free. Birth control, i'm not sure really, they should probably be free to. I don't think it's special treatment, a tampon or pad is a basic thing a woman needs.
Opinion Owner+1 yA woman doesn't have to use disposable pads or tampons. There are reusable options. Pads and tampons are actually a choice. By your logic, toilet paper should be free as well...
- +1 y
Okay and again why should they have to bay for a reusable one? It should be free for them. It's not the same though.

Opinion Owner+1 yBecause we are all respinsible for ourselves. It's not the taxpayers burden to pay for my sanitary needs, it's mine. For those that can't afford it, there is plenty of assistance out there. It amounts to about $5 a month. Seriously, it's not like it's expensive.
- +1 y
I think it should be the taxpayers burden to pay for things like that.
Opinion Owner+1 yUntil you are the taxpayer
- +1 y
Not really, i don't care if it's more for that.
Opinion Owner+1 yI guess personal responsibility is a dying thing.
- +1 y
I don't think of it like that, i just don't think it's right for women to pay for stuff like that.
Opinion Owner+1 yIt's called being grown and responsible for yourself. I don't need or expect anyone else to be responsible for my needs. I can take care of myself, and think modern day feminism is an insult to women.

I'm agree with @ExperimentalMale.
Opinion Owner+1 y@curiousnorway. Congratulations
+1 yI thinks in many cases a feminist supporter and a feminist skeptic are both for gender equality and fairness, but they use difference words and definition for what they means. Me for instance call people who fight for gender equality for equalist/egalitarian and human right fighters. I dislike the word feminist because many abuse the word, it's a misleading word and the word have lost it's meaning.
+1 yBecause actions speak louder than words. Feminist say it's about equality because that's what the definition says, but when it comes to ideologies, definitions may change if people's actions change.
Today, feminists fight for female superiority, it's just what it it is.10 ReplyThe term feminism on its own gives the impression of female first. This, however is not the only reason. Feminism was never about equality for all, it was about equality for females, for women to have the right to vote and the opportunity to work. Where does feminism help males, where does feminism help those of a different "race" or help those of differing religious beliefs. Its not equality for all, its equality for females. That was the initial goal. And now its moved to supremacy by a handful of crazed loons in their movement.
I'm an egalitarian in the sense of all humans are equal and should be treated as such under the eys of the law. Feminists thinking they are for equality for all should start calling themselves egalitarian, or create a new term for equality for a movement that is for equality for all people.00 ReplyBecause it kind of is. Feminism has not been about equality for quite a long time.
In Western civilization, we have reached a point where both men and women suffer from sexism. Feminism only focuses on women.51 Reply
+1 yIt's obsolete. That concept of equality regardless of race, sex, and religion is called 'egalitarianism.' With the 'fem' in feminism, that tends to point towards something dubious for most. You'll find that the more rational minds don't identify as feminists, and the crazy ones do.
TL;DR: Feminism was good at one point, now it's just an obsolete concept living on borrowed time.00 Reply

That's exactly what 3rd wave feminism is
93 Reply- +1 y
Normal feminism isn't though
- +1 y
"Normal feminists" aren't feminist, but egalitarian/equalist and human right fighters in my opinion. The word "feminist" is misleading and therefor I doesn't use it about people who fight for gender equality and fairness. I use the word feminism about other things. E. g. the 3rd wave in addition to extremists and not about people fighting for equality.
+1 ymodern feminism is a complete joke but back in the early 2000's that is when it actually meant something because you had real educated men and women explain and provide the proof that inequality existed.
