There's a lot of accents in England: I think the OP put that to specify the RP accent rather than say one from Bristol or South Hampton or any other distinguishing accent from England.

I class London English as Cockney. Although I think the asker means Queens English accent (aka BBC newsreader).

I'm English as well, I don't class London as Southampton in the same accent. There are many dialects, but Southampton and London are not the same. That's like saying Essex and Chelsea are the same because they have tv shows and are well known.

To be honest that is more where I'm from, I have a Dorset accent, I've only ever heard certain ones be classed as their own other than that it's just English, that's what I've always heard

Every English person classes themselves as English.

There are so many accents. Everything has a tag line but I understand. You would probably class me as "English" or "posh". You wouldn't match where I live to my accent despite living here forever.
