Honestly, most things like this will go right over children's heads. I doubt they would even get the true meaning and point of this video. It's hard for them to understand grasp things and to read between the lines when you're really young... ESPECIALLY when there's no dialogue involved that explains what's going on. Just think of all those kids shows you used to watch that hinted at serious topics like suicide, depression, divorce, etc... and you didn't even realize it at that age.
Young teens, middle schoolers, and young adults may relate to this more so than elementary school children like everyone is talking about in the comment section.

Actually, it's the psychiatric community that determined that was a more reasonable treatment than institutionalization, electro-convulsive therapy and lobotomy, which were recommendations they USED to make for people who believe they are trans. It took decades of research for them to reach the conclusions they have reached about transgenderism. These tend to be people already caught in a world of self-destruction. The therapies recommended for trans patients tend to focus on self-reconstruction.
You're just caught up on bottom surgery, which only a tiny percentage of trans people will ever undergo. But in terms of a transgender person, like I said, it's an act of self-reconstruction.

I think it's a cute short that's meant to be a step into a direction that allows same sex relationships to be seen as normal by more than just mature television. There's nothing wrong in showing kids that liking the same gender is normal and it's okay to feel that way if that happens in the future.

Wtf heterosexuals aren't being neglected. The vast majority of romances in the media are still heterosexual, possibly even a disproportionate amount (haven't checked the stats, but that's just based on what it seems like from what I watch). Like, come on, at least come up with a better excuse than that.
What does that have to do with the original topic though? Like do you have an issue with LGBT media being shown or not? Because the mere existence of LGBT media does not in any way put heterosexual media at risk any more than having animal characters puts the existence of human characters at risk.

In any case, my issue is essentially that I don't think that there is any kind of risk of LGBT people "forcing" their lifestyle on other people, and I think that to suggest that there is such a risk is a misrepresentation of the facts and unnecessary fearmongering, particularly considering that there's a far greater risk (and historical precedent) of heterosexuality and cisgenderedness actually legitimately being forced onto people, something that I don't see acknowledged much by those talking about the same issue with LGBT people.

I don't really see a problem with it. I don't care if someone is gay, it's not my business but i think making people aware at an early age that this is a thing they're probably going to encounter in their life and there's nothing wrong with it is gonna be beneficial for society as a whole in the long run.
There's a fine line between lets not be mean to each other and teaching that choosing a gay lifestyle is an appropriate choice for a child. This sounds like propaganda to me. But I haven't seen it.
In general there seems to be confusion about what acceptance means. To some people acceptance means that we should all get along, accept a person for being gay and that we shouldn't disagree with it and that I shouldn't do anything that may cause offense or go against that social acceptance of lifestyle. To me, that is not what acceptance means. Acceptance to me means that they are free to make their own choices, that I shouldn't seek to cause harm and in turn acceptance of the person doesn't mean I need to accept that they are gay as an acceptable life choice. Now if a gay person finds offense in that then that's ok, I am perfectly fine with them being offended. Acceptance in these films is not actually acceptance in freedom of choice, its sets an expectation that being gay is a socially acceptable life choice in the same way that a hetero couple is acceptable. It simply isn't and it shouldn't be taught that way.
You may choose never to do "gay stuff", but what you are is still what you are. Just like celibate people who know they are heterosexual. But none of this is promoting a "gay lifestyle" as you call it, which I am not even sure what that means. This particular cartoon shows a male person (age indeterminate) who has feelings for another male person of similar age. There's no sex. They don't show them buggering each other in the restrooms near the men's shoe departments at Nordstroms. They're just existing, having this one experience - of mutual "like" for each other.
Being LGBT is natural, normal, and perfectly acceptable in society. We don't all get to have society be just the one way we like - we live in a culture where we will encounter many people doing many things. Why we spend time freaking out about people loving each other when we have crazy warlords trying to find an excuse to nuke millions of people I will never understand.

But you know what, all kinds of things not beneficial have occurred over time and across species. It might be natural in that sense, but that doesn't mean its right or beneficial for society.

In fact I'm so fine with that I voted to legalize gay marriage in my state, not because I think its right and beneficial, but its because I believe the government should have no say and that people should be left to make their own choices. Ultimately what you and the OP are asking is to have your right to spread whatever lies and hatred you wish but to have that right denied to us. It just doesn't work that way under the US Constitution. We have to put up with all the rhetoric your type of person feeds into society, so, guess what... you have to live with what we have to say also. (Assuming you're U. S. as the OP is.)

@MlleCake I'm not emotional with this, though I'm sure that you feel completely assailed, not just by me in particular but by a larger community of people that are against you and the fact that I have not been even in the slightest, sensitive to your position and feelings on the issue. i think being gay or lesbian might be a mental issue... because their is no way they can make a baby between the two... it has to be a man and a woman... (my opinion)

The only people I have heard say they are a "lesbian trapped in a man's body" are get men. I never hear trans people issue forth such nonsense.

I thought it was a pretty cute video. I'm not scared that kids will be influenced into being gay when they're not.
They can show how many gay vidoes as they want, only a very small percentage of humans will be gay thanks to human evolution.

And homosexual people can reproduce by all the normal means as well. Most lesbians I know have children, and quite a number of gay men too. L and G people, in fact, procreate with the opposite sex *purely to reproduce*, even when they don't actually like the process.
Whereas, I'm sure you will enjoy sex with your eventual mate and probably do a lot of it just for fun, not wishing to reproduce at that moment.
There are animals in nature that perform homosexual acts, but for the sake of argument, does something being natural make it good and unnatural make it bad? It used to be natural for 13 year humans to have kids, so are you for lowing the age of consent? Hospitals kill natural disease, are you for abolishing unnatural hospitals and medicine?
