Why is masculinity considered something bad nowadays?

Why are people denying the fact that men are supposed to be masculine? Why are they even denying that masculinity exists? It's like anything that's masculine is portrayed in a bad light. Masculinity is toxic while femininity is weak. But if we look closely we notice that females become masculine and at the same time they feminise males. I'm not even surprised that many people divorce/break up or whatever, because what else do you expect from something which isn't how it is supposed to be? (Don't even start arguing here, gag is your closest evidence of this)
I don't get why women can't let men to be men. Why do they have to get in the way complaining about shit which makes no sense. With that I mean gender gap, their behavior etc, while men do most of the time the heavier work. Bet we pressure them as well and they just bear all of this, because god forbid masculinity. Ticket to the jail if it does not please a woman.
It's hilarious when you hear women talking about how masculine men turns them on, well then let them be fucking masculine. Men aren't supposed to act like your slave. They've always been the dominating gender, and that's alright. That's not 'traditional', that's how nature is. Their mindset differs from ours and we should respect that, instead of turning them like us.
Worst of all are those men who think masculinity is toxic. Congrats on being brainwashed. However I have to reveal to you; According to science, that's not your nature. You're different and that's okay! Influences could shape you the way you are but that does not mean it is what you are.

Also if you start talking about gender norms or whatever, you could spare you effort, because that too is bullshit once you gain knowledge you'll discover it's natural for men and women to be a certain way.

So why is masculinity something bad nowadays?
Why are men letting themselves to get feminine? Instead of standing up and defending their manhood like how it should be?

I'm considerd a masculine guy by my people who know me.
I believe firstly that the world must wake up to the fact that you can be dominant but not domineering. The language needs to change this modern reality. I think now a days, in general people fear being dominated and rightly so.
But someone can be a dominant person, ready to step up as needed by others. I respect people and do not feel superior to them. I am manly, can take charge in a situation, care for people around me.
People throw around the term 'Alfa male' all the time now.
But the accepted cultural meaning tends to be someone who is wanting to win or beat everybody, dominate and succeed above.
But for me an Alfa mail is just Alfa. He's confident in himself. He's aware of his social position but only a true Alfa would not hold that over others, use things to his advantage or subjugate others. Because he dosen't need to. He uses his abilities to better himself and the others around him. Certainly not to uselessly proclame it to others around him.
We are social animals that work best with others. Not over them.

Now because my 'manliness' poses no threat to others everybody that knows me never has a problem with it. I am friends with feminists and lesbians. The only people I have problems with are people who don't know me and assume my masculinity will be some sort of threat.

Socially I see many of the same things as you; that masculinity is under attack as something negative, something to almost ashamed of.
I don't really care all that much because I'm going to continue to live my life how I want to and anybody who has some sort of problem with that I don't want to associate with anyway.
But I do think it's a shame.
Seems to be kind of the same thing with femininity. I sometimes see it associated with weekness somehow. Not to me. Women can be incredibly powerful in their own way. However they want to do it.

On a sidenote I was at the store the other day in a bit of a higher end nice fashion place. I kept thinking that I had bumped into the wrong rack of clothes that I must somehow be in the women's section or that some women's clothes were in the men's section because so many of the colours were such 'feminine' colours. Now I don't care what people want to wear but it looks like it's going to be a lot harder for a guy like me to find what I want to wear. Lol.

1) why is masculinity considered something bad? Because society enforces the idea that men's identity is based on the fact tbat they are men (example is your way of thinking) and radical feminism uses that to attack men's ego.

My little brother´s behavior traits are considered really ´masculine´. Also I watched a documentary recently about men in jail. Next to the mentally ill, poverty etc. there were also a lot of men who did stuff because they felt abandoned by society. Because people have masculinity and "toxic masculinity" confused. In my mind, they're two different things. "Toxic masculinity" (a term I use VERY loosely) in my opinion refers to when you use the concept of being a man to excuse actions OR if you use it to make men feel like they have to behave a certain way.

I think you've misunderstood a bit what's happening. It's not about forcing men off masculinity, or women away from femininity, but instead not forcing them INTO masculinity and femininity respectively. It's the notion that if you're not a "masculine" man, your not a real man and should be ashamed of not being so. Same with feminine women. It's about accepting people for who they are as an individual, not for what gender they are. Are you a sensitive man? That's fine. Are your a woman who don't really want to do makeup? That's fine too.

Then there's also the facts that that preconceived notions of masculinity and femininity do bring some unwanted mental baggage. Like men not knowing how to deal with their emotions because they are not supposed to be emotional. Or women getting body issues because they're not as curvy/small/fit/etc as they should be. They also both have a tendency to develop fragile egos.

While it's completely true that men and women are biologically different, it's about letting the PERSON be themselves, as an individual. Men or women don't have to fit into these small boxes called masculinity or femininity.

Some people are naturally masculine/feminine, and that's fine. Some other people are not masculine/feminine and that is also fine. What is not fine is how in many cultures you won't be considered a proper person if you're not in your "natural role"

The issue I've always dealt with has been the opposite. People defining masculinity in a certain way that makes anything that appears remotely childish or feminine seem unmanly or a sign of weakness. I enjoy poetry, music, and I watch cartoons. I agree that feminists try to make men seem more feminine and women more masculine, so I won't deny it to be an issue, however I don't think it's the issue you think it is... however that's also largely a matter of social circles and location. Where I live, a defined and (in my opinion) false sense of masculinity is too strongly enforced, whereas in other places not enough masculinity is promoted. It's a balancing act. You can fall off the tightrope to the left or to the right and there are issues either way.

Peer pressure is something that a lot of people won't resist, which I think is the reason why more and more men are 'letting themselves to get feminine' as you say. If they hear it from parents, teachers, TV etc. that being 'masculine' is bad and they hear it all the time, perhaps even get punished for showing that type of behavior, even if they don't really believe it, they might just decide it's easier to not be 'masculine'. Convinience and peer pressure, would be the two main motivators why they do it, I'd think.

I don't agree with the premise that masculinity is considered bad or evil. I think the definition of masculinity merely has shifted and qualities of it have crossed over into people in general. This is because society is changing, whether people like it or not. The definition of masculinity morphs into different things, depending on the culture, society, social dynamics and soforth. Sure, the die hard feminists think otherwise but I frankly don't care. Using the old (ish) definitions, therefore, seem archaic to me.

Because people look at the bad things masculinity has done (wars, violence), yet avoid all the good things it has done (literally built and developed most of the world as we know it). Hating on masculinity goes hand in hand with modern feminism which purports anything pro women and anti men.

I am very masculine, but I am not an asshole. Think that is the difference. I cook, clean etc. I do these things when I am alone and when I am with someone. Roles can change, but that doesn't change the masculine part. I would not expect a partner who works to do all of the household chores etc. We are partners.

I don't think it's masculinity in general that's seen as a bad thing it is the hypermasculinity that is projected over insecurities within their own selves. The inability it to share or express your feelings and other similar behaviors is because of the social norms dictating how you must act within certain ways to be a "man" is the issue. They shouldn't change who they are inside but they shouldn't be demoralised for expressing that which you describe as feminine.

But that's just my opinion.
