The argument I see most often against it is that female breasts are sexual, but it's just the nipples that need to be covered. Which is the only part of the breast that needs to be bare to function, yet mens nipples is a ok. Girls do find males nipples sexy, just not as much because they are allowed to be shown on TV and in public. Civilized cultures used to make females cover there entire body, making everything about a woman's body sexual, because the only time you saw a naked woman is if you were in a sexual relationship. This kept men in power over women sexually. Lots of guys get jealous when their girlfriend or wives show off their body and get attention from other guys even today.
I believe that we should destigmatize and women's bodies. I understand it's not likely to happen anytime soon, and we have a long way to go, but we've already come along way.
Yes I do, there is nothing inherently sexual about exposed breasts/nipples. Also, topless equality would mean women choose to go without a top where it is acceptable for men to go without a top. Women would still be allowed to wear tops, of course, and both men and women would still be required to wear tops in restaurants, etc. Of course there still would be a lot of women that choose not to go topless, but that isn't a good reason to prohibit other women from going topless if they want to make that choice.
Girls, you should really educate more before decide to go ''against''. really think through your choice after you get enough information regarding the event. Free the nipple is a global campaign of change, focused on the EQUALITY, EMPOWERMENT, AND FREEDOM OF ALL HUMAN BEINGS.
The movement is not about girls to always show their nipples - nobody is asking you to do anything you don't want to do.
It is about girls to not be banned for showing their freedom, of course we are not talking just randomly flashing out your goods at the park or schools or what ever. We are talking , for example, as on Instagram, you can be banned if you are a girl and even the slightest of your nipple is showing, but if a guy pops up naked - no probs. See the difference.
No I don't. It's mostly stupid especially because they have their concepts wrong. Mainly because:
1) "Boobs aren't sexual unless we make it sexual." Boobs ARE sexual.
2) Men and women are equal as in equal values and basic rights, but not all aspects of life.
3) Even if we CAN change people's mindset about women's nipples, it's not gonna happen overnight.
1.) Why are boobs sexual and male nipples not?
3.) Whether or not we can do it overnight seems irrelevant to me. People didn't change their minds overnight about whether or not women should have the right to vote, shouldn't be raped by their husbands, shouldn't be beaten by their husbands, etc but that doesn't mean it was good to keep those laws on the books.
Does it?
That doesn't address the question. If a woman wants to wear more clothes, more power to you. We're talking about whether or not there should be legislation about what you have to where.
On the society I live in men can mostly get around without a shirt, you couldn't go into a business sure, but there wouldn't likely be legal action against you. That would be different for a woman. I don't see how that's justifiable
Oh, well obviously I'd never presume to tell you how to dress, and I don't think that's what the "freethenip" campaign is about. It's about whether or not women SHOULD be allowed to dress in such a manner, not whether or not they ought to.
I support a woman's right to dress as she want but don't personally care what she wears if that makes sense.
Perhaps I'm confused though 😂
It's not really our business of whatever happens to someone's nipples. I mean, in case of censorship - then free it. Both sexes have nipples anyway. It makes no sense that men can expose their nipple, but not women. We should be teaching the people not to be distracted by them, not blame it on the nipples.
I always wear this type of bra (it's called a shelf bra) so yes.

Not entirely sure.
I have no problems with a woman breastfeeding in public, but I understand that in our society there is a taboo about women's nipples. I don't think that taboo makes sense, but I understand that we start to get into some issues of where people are allowed to be topless.
Don't know if any of that made sense.
The taboo makes sense because the nipples are attached to breasts and they are used for sexual pleasure when not feeding our babies. No matter what they are a sexual part of the body. Men don't have them so they want to see them. Most women enjoy men sucking them. I don't want women walking around with their tits flopping around and their nipples poking eyes out around my children. Also most Womens nipples look a lot different than a man's nipple. Why do men support this more? Because they'll see tits more.
@Bliss-taylor the nipples are an errogenous zone on men as well. They're not a sexual organ. They're just fatty deposits that can also expend milk that happen to have a large number of neurons. This doesn't seem any different than male nipples to me, except that females are more likely to exude milk, in males it's not normal.
I never said they were a sexual organ but they are a main place of sexual satisfying. Women can have orgasms from just having their nipples sucked. I've never heard of a man having that happen. I'm not saying it doesn't feel good for some men. I know it does, but women are more likely to enjoy it than men. Women don't find guys nipples as sexy as men find girls. Womens breast are viewed as sexual because men and women both made it that way. It's still going to always be a place men are sexually attracted to. Making it normal to see them in public won't change that. Just google the real reason men are attracted to breasts.
@Bliss-taylor how sexually satisfying does a place have to be for us to cover it up? In many middle Easter countries women are forced to wear a cloth bag over their entire body because it's exciting to men.
Do you agree with that?
No. Even in places where this is legalized it isn't really taken advantage of. Breasts are a sexual object and are supposed to be, don't taint it. Your chest is not for the public but the viewing pleasure of a few lucky souls throughout the girls lifetime.
It's supposed to be a feminist movement, but I don't think it's being effective lol more guys support it than girls 😅😅😅
Exactly lol
The irony!
No, I don't want boobs to be de-sexualised. Of course a breast feeding mother is within her right to do so in public and to that I say it's completely natural and normal. But standard boobs out on show, no it's not the same.
Nah girl I don't wanna see your tits. What happened to class?
Class doesn't really exist among many women anymore
I'm not for or against it. its the individual's decision. as for myself, I'm keeping mine hidden lol
hmm, looks like a downvoter wants me to be part of the movement. nah buddy XD
No I'm much more comfortable with keeping them to myself.
No need to support on how women should drees. It's the wish of a specific girls. If she wants to free her nipples then she can, otherwise not.
I honestly don't care. If a woman wants to show her tits to the world I don't have much of a problem with that. Just be prepared to see lots of people staring at your chest.
I'd never support any stupid feminist movement
You're feminiphobic
Yes. You're discriminating against a community 😐
If this is about the totally dumbass practise of blurring out or covering up nipples in media and on tv then i do support it. We all have nipples (men too) so it isn't feminist... and in any case, it is totally daft to single nipples out for censorship given we all have them. Makes no sense.
I support the movement of covering everyone's nipples, not just women's.
I support you lol
Feminist movements like this and the entirety of feminism is proof that human stupidity knows no bounds.
Stop this cancer seriously.
Yes because what is the difference between male and female's nipple? One is larger? You making a mockery of female's body and that's ain't good.
@eddie777 Ok, I agree with you, female nipple is sexual to most society but it has no sexual function. Is this really reasonable to restrict them from showing certain parts?
Early human were naked for several 10s of thousand years and they didn't suddenly came up with clothing because its sexual but rather it was used for protection from elements and keeping debris out.
You may find female wearing topless as stupid (NOT talking about the feminist ones) then I find female covering their breast due to modesty reason as stupid. We all know who came up with this idea of women covering up their clothes as a must. Patriarchal men.
I think it's time to tell those lunatics who think they can socially engineer basic sexual needs to go to hell. They have created 500 new sexual 'identities' and created a society that can't even procreate at sustainable levels. Everything has become twisted and poisoned, and it's time to stop the madness. Let's just say that breasts and nipples are extremely sexually arousing, and let's thank God for that.
@eddie777 Exactly, I agree with you.
You got to pick your fights. This ain’t one of them. We got powerful imaginations, it’s not that hard to fill in the blanks. And plus we got photoshop lol
I support it. It should be the person's choice on whether they want to cover it or not.
Free the nipple's If men can show there bare nipple's in public why not having women showing there nipple's public.
You see nipples and boobs are sexual objects, so they are hidden as you can't go around showing off your sexual parts. I mean why can't guys show off their dick then?
Can't we just censor female nipples by putting male nipples over them? Problem solved!
Yeah jaggle those pasties, let em get it out. Why not.
I'm neutral, I think it's a silly movement, there are much more pressing issues.
