Who you would say is your inspiration in life? And what qualifies them to be so? It could be anyone from teachers to sportspeople to army troops. Would you share with me who are your role models in life?
Who are the people you consider role models in your life?
Mostly people I know personally. My wife is certainly a big role model to me because she has a lot of wonderful character traits that I admire and that I envy her for. For example she is incredibly tough and enduring when it comes to facing adversity in life. She fights so, so hard to get ahead and she is very self-disciplined. But also because she's an incredibly kind and good-hearted person in a very pure and innocent way. I sometimes feel like she's one of those girls that hasn't been corrupted by any badness in this world. Furthermore, my parents are big role models to me because they've always been very good to me and because they have done an amazing job at raising me. I think I will admire them and their work even more once I'll have children of my own. And thirdly, my grandma (who died when I was 16) is a role model to me because she was a very bright and a very wise person with lots of life experience. But she was also a very happy, cheerful and positive-thinking person. There are so many old people who are grumpy and bitter but my grandma always had a way of seeing the good aspects of life. She was the type of old person I would love to become.
However, there are also a few famous people I consider my role models. For example I have a deep respect for Richard Dawkins and his passion and commitment to a cause that is dear to him. I also admire Noam Chomsky with whom I agree on most things (incidentally, I also major in English linguistics). Other people would be Martin Luther King, Giordano Bruno or - despite the fact that I'm an atheist - Jesus (or at least the way Jesus is portrayed by the Bible since we don't actually know if he really existed). And finally, perhaps my biggest role model among famous people is Andrea Boccelli. The reason for this is very personal. Just like him, I was born almost completely blind. People like Boccelli make me feel that anything is possible if you're really passionate about it - even if you're blind and at a significant disadvantage.
George Carlin: countercultural philosopher who was perhaps the grestest comedian of all time. Didn't accept societies bullshit and never yielded to public opinion where many would. I admire every special he ever put out, even the goofy ones.
Oscar Schindler: German entrepeneur who used Jewish laborers during WWII & gave up the fortune he made from it to save all of his employees and their families from being murdered by the Nazi's. He intentionally produced faulty military munitions so that the Nazi military forces would be undermined. Brass fucking balls.
Martin Luther King: One of the most unifying leaders of American civil rights movements & was murdered because he was no one trick pony, once he started defending worers rights for the garbage collectors who were being abused they knew they had to take him out to keep the established order intact. He was not afraid of the prospect of assassination, he died doing everything he could to make the world better. He Tried.
Bernie Sanders: Longest served independant senator in the United States. Refuses party politics and stands up for what he believes in. Was atrested during the civil rights movement for fighting for civil rights, voted against the Iraq war, is an opponent of the P. A. T. R. I. O. T act, doesn't want to use government to make big corporations more money.
Ron Paul: Just like Bernie Sanders he did not take corporate money and I believe he's of the few living congresspeople to trust & value for being principled. Always voted against war, always voted against opportunistic foreign aid, believed in liberty & keeping the government from totalitarianism.
Bill Hicks: Hilarious comedian from the 90's who spread a hopeful message of love, critical thinking skills, and rejection of trashy pop culture. He valued life, he was a poet, & died too soon.
Oh yeah & Jonas Salk, he could have patented the polio vaccine and made tons of money off of it but all of that hard work was just his way of helping humanity & he practically gave it away. He basocally killed polio.
George Washington. He could have made himself king. He had a standing army and yet he humbly resigned his position as Commanding General of the Continental Army.

Your parents. Usually celebrities and politicians are poor role models. Like would you want Kim Kardashian or Hillary Clinton to be your daughters role model.
It's interesting that you would list people who fought for freedom and socialist/communist leaders that believe in power of the state over power of the people.
The two are diametrically opposed, which tells me that you are likely just a shit disturber rather than a person capable of making rational decisions.
More like i believe in people in power that all think they know whats best for their people, as well as war heros, their political affiliations were irrelevant in my decision.
