Teacher acting odd towards me? Inappropriate or just friendly?

So I have this really clever funny attractive teacher that I've been really friendly with, as we have similar personalities and I get on well with and on occasions babysit his 9year old son. Now I've described him in a way that makes it seem like I have a crush on him, but he was kinda like a big brother.

Until recently. He broke up with his life partner about 6 months ago, and since then he and his son ask me over for movie marathons and things, which is fine, but I went to a school party all dressed up and he made comments like "you're stunning, you look really gorgeous," and at school the Monday after the other teacher complimented me on the pictures they had seen on his phone, including ones of me and his son.

Now here's the thing. I didn't know he had ever taken a picture of me. Is it completely inappropriate or simply innocent friendliness?

That sort of behavior isn't simply innocent friendliness. It's inappropriate, and if it's bothering you, then you need to tell someone such as your principle. If he's a well liked teacher and word gets out about you talking to the school authorities about it, there will be some backlash. I had a similar situation when I was in highschool.. teacher was just completely inappropriate but it was more than just comments. I took it to the authorities and I had to write a police report. Somehow, the entire school ended up reading what I'd wrote in the police report and I dealt with threats and just pure hatred from the other students. Tough situation.

Taking pictures of you without your knowledge or consent is very inappropriate.

I would suggest you not allow yourself to fill this void that he's feeling in his life. Stick to a simple teacher/student relationship and if you decide babysitter as well.

I never said a life partner is always male. If you're teacher was female and had a life partner, she'd be a lesbian.

True, but you can't assume he's gay without knowing him, which he isn't.

His life partner is a woman who gave birth to his son. They just weren't married. I doubt a dude is going to push a baby out his penis.
