No. Imagine the government accidentally mandating you a girlfriend when you actually already have one and then oof some random girl gets murdered by your girlfriend. Also you don’t just pluck a girlfriend out of thin air, she has to be someone and come from somewhere. If female participation was entirely voluntary I think the government would be really low on “supplies,” but the “demand” would be extraordinary. So the girlfriends might end up costing you, or the government would have to resort to acquiring them through questionable means.

Sounds like the central premise of an anime plot. In real life though? Not likely. Though if the government's going to intrude on your privacy to the extent where they know every detail about you, your interests and your fetishes, then they could at least use the results to provide a subsidized universal match-making service while they're at it. Can't see it happening anywhere where the population isn't shrinking to a similar extent as Japan's though...

I think they ought to put the right to own a pet in the human rights act, the right to marry and have kids is in, why not the right to a small furry friend? This sounds like a horrendous idea. No one gets a choice in their partner do a lot of unhappy people. What happens to people who r attracted to their own sex? Do they just get given a partner of the opposite sex anyway? What happens if u want a partner with the same religious or political views as u and u get allocated someone with opposing views. What if u want an older or younger partner?
