I find this subject funny. I say no. Women hate it when men look at women in a perverted way, so how is going topless going to help? I actually watched a troll video of this guy going to a topless protest thing and all he did was stare at the women breasts and many of the women got uncomfortable but that's what would happen. Many men would have respect and try not to look but that's one feature men are attracted to so it will happen on pure instinct. I would hate it if my loved ones went walking around topless because I know guys would just stare. I mean unless these women are just wanting the attention.
Breasts are to feed infants. They were not meant to be sexualized. I think women should have equal topless rights but I don't even like to wear bikinis because I feel so naked so I probably wouldn't roam topless. But if another girl wants to I think she should be able to.
any neurologist will tell you otherwise. as well as any woman whose ever had sex with someone with hands, for that matter. Most animals do not have human-like breasts at all, even if they fall into the category "mammal". Compare the bellies of a male and female dog, or even the chest of a female gorilla, and you won't find much difference unless she's recently given birth to a litter and is nursing young (that's about the only time she will ever have any vague semblance of what we call "breasts" on humans).
Lmao absolutely the fuck not. All the reasons I’m seeing for it is “I don’t want tan lines” or “it gets really hot and it’d be more comfortable” Might I remind you that breasts are considered sex organs and you will be considered nude in public (even if the law doesn’t say so). This brings unwanted sexual attention, and the chances of you being sexualized, objectified, and harassed skyrocket. Fairly sure that no woman wants that
For real in my opinion we should. I’m outside a lot in the sun and I see guys with their shirts off and always wish I could do that because a) it gets hot b) I hate getting farmers tans c) sports bras, crop tops for me acquire sweat like no other - I’d love to be able to just go out with nothing on top
Nope because the topless women will be blamed for random dudes groping them. Anyone remember the the clothing optional music festival in New Zealand when a topless woman was groped by a man? I remember the responses on here. "if she didn't want to be groped then she should've had a top on".
@Juxtapose see most men and some women are voting yes but in the end it'll be the topless woman who'll be to blame for a man's actions. I'm no feminist I'm just seeing the reality of what could happen.
@Juxtapose I got into an argument with my brother over the way that women dress. His opinion is that if a woman is dressed in revealing clothing that she is partly to blame if she is a victim of rape. So I asked if I would be partly to blame for being raped if I wore a bikini to the beach and he said YES. This is when the fight started and unfortunately my brother isn't the only person that has that opinion. I had my other brother, my sister in-law, mum, dad and husband in the same room as us and no one else said anything. My dad did have words to my brother after I left the room.
For the record, your brother is insane to believe that. I don't care if a woman is walking around naked, it's 100% not her fault. It's 100% the assailant's fault, ALWAYS. People are 100% responsible for their actions and these excuses for molesters disgust me.
Yes, I grew up in a culture where women went topless; swimming, sunbathing and so on... I know that sounds amazing to most guys and sure, it’s great, but when you grow up, and don’t know any different and all my friends never made a big deal about it, because the context matters, and truthfully after a few minutes of seeing hundreds of topless women laying around who aren’t thinking about sex, you stop looking or caring, or seeing them the same way unless boobs are expressed in a sexual way on purpose. I think when you put a bra on an undeveloped young girl, that is what is perverted, and that mentality in the culture, causes problems in America and other parts of the world as far as molestation and stuff
there's no nudity laws in newzealand. .. but lots of unwritten rules of descretion. So you can be naked or topless on any beach here. Just choose you beach and place on the beach that isn't going to offend anyone and behavour in a no offensive manner. Like dont go nude near by famillies with children or pre/early teens. and dont flashing your junk or bare vagina/breasts in peoples faces or perform any sexual acts.
I don't see that as a right. A far greater right is for the weak to be protected from abuse by the strong. Some women want to be able to get a strapless suntan. Some don't mind if people look at their bare breasts; but don't want to be touched, approached, raped, beaten or kidnapped. It's unrealistic to expect all men to completely control all their desires. Only one badly behaved man can create a disaster.
Actions have consequences. All rights are tempered by some common sense.
Not in this society, no. I wouldn't feel comfortable with all the staring and gawking and pointing. In the deep Amazonian jungle, maybe, if the local culture doesn't see female breasts as a sexual object. As long as they still are seen as a sexual object, I'd rather keep them covered.
The question is 'should women be able to'. If you dont feel comfortable with it, its your choice not to do it. Do you want to give others the choice to do it if they are comfortable with it?
@nichtweiss no. Because that's just feminazi BS. In many parts of the world little girls still have their genitals cut off without anesthesia, and all people in the west wants is to be able to fucking show off their breasts? You've gotta be kidding me. Why should I cater to these feminazis' stupid egos when there are other more important things to think about?
Also, if every girl walks around barebreasted and I don't, I WILL get the backlash from society. I WILL be judged and be called prude, etc. So no, I vote for no one bares their breasts as long as it's still seen as a sexual thing by society that we live in.
WTH are you talking about? We aren't talking about genital mutilation. Way to go completely off on a tangent. The issue here is the right/choice to choose what is right for you. Its about equality. Its got nothing to do with egos. And they do want other things. This is just one of the things. And do you think that if its legal all women are suddenly going to take their tops off? 1) Nope. 2) If they did, then the majority of people want this to happen. Its seen as sexual as people make it sexual. But people can change and use context. Sunbathing in the park, not sexual; flirting at a bar, sexual. And dont say it can't be like that because in many places in the world that is exactly how it is. Attitudes can be changed.
In your scenario of a backlash, I would also defend your right to not be topless. Its a personal choice and none of anyone elses business
Its absolutely your opinion and you're entitled to have it but since you posted on a forum where your opinion can be debated, thats exactly what Im doing. And Im doing it without personal attacks. In fact I said I would defend your rights too. I simply dont think its right to punish (fine/jail) someone for showing their breasts in public, within reason
At the beach, on landscaping jobs when the foreman allows men to take off their shirts, working construction, basically every place men typically go topless.
My friends and I, despite me being proudly bi and many of them being proudly trans, sat out Pride Day, but we already have plans to go to the next free the nipple rally in our state.
The truth is you can but YOU girls dont want to. Recently had a long talk about that and more than one girl was involved. Problem a) You have very little confidence. Even though you believe your boobs are ok, you are still afraid sbout the one negative look or comment. Problem b) You are really competitive when it comes to looks. Even if we are talking about best friends. Problem c) You want to keep it hidden as its easier to use it to your advantage and flirt your way through. So to all bitching about double standards... pleeeeease.
Anyways. Nudity is something im comfortable with so i wouldn't mind. Id be curious and looking at every pair but after a week it would get old.
once in a while i go in public braless with a sheer or semi sheer top. lot's of googoo looks . but never a problem . i do it for me . because i can . i'm 20 . if someone has an issue with it . like my showing off or wanting attention . then that's their issue and their opinion . but not on campus or the workplace . ok i know . sheer is not topless . toplessness will only come about when bear breasts become less offensive than guns .
I totally agree and support you wearing sheer tops, and I think it should be legal in the US for women to be topless on beaches, and in public! In Canada it is legal, and there is a program called 'Naked News' and they go out, topless, and there isn't any more crime, or bad things, happening!! I am confused how you juxtapose beautiful breasts, with guns, and add the word 'Offensive', as NEITHER are offensive, in any way.
@FMJ_Guy i was just being a little sardonic . and not very objective . :) ok another way of saying it . bare breasts are regarded as more offensive than guns .
I disagree, totally!! Bare breasts are beautiful and should be shown in any place that she feels comfortable, unlike guns, that have their place!! Sheer, and see-through tops are almost 'topless'. But, like when thongs became popular, laws needed to change, so women could wear them, publicly. Now, on some cable channels, they show bare ass!! So what's the big deal? If men can be 'topless' at a beach, maybe women with smaller breasts than the guys, can be too? Or maybe people just get over the issues, and stop freaking out about it!! OMG, really? I've been in restaurants, and seen women breast-feed at the table, in full view of anyone that isn't so embarrassed that they turn away!! One place, the woman was literally right next to me, and she noticed that I noticed what she was doing, and didn't, mind at all!! When her daughter was done, she actually asked me to hold her, while she tucked in and whatever!!
@FMJ_Guy debate. org did a poll . Should women be banned from showing their breasts in public? 22% said Yes . 78% said No . but still . the government's federal appeals court ruled preventing women from going topless . giving the reasons of = to protect public health, safety, and morals = ofensiveness to others... and the importance of keeping lady breasts out of public . that also overruled first amendment rights of free speech . of women going topless . and also overruled equal protection issues of men permitted going topless which is a violation of the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause . so there you have it .
Just because they are idiots doesn't mean you should stop pressing the issue!! I TOTALLY support you (oh, bad pun, sorry!!) in that!! Someday, maybe just at certain beaches, or places, at first. . .
guys are obsessed with breasts anyway and women often use their breasts as a weapon to attract and seduce guys . since society prefers to ban bear breasts and not guns . therefore in throwing out all common sense . strategically there is no other approach other than to compromise . and women can acheive their same goals . or else . tribzap2it.files.wordpress.com/.../...-breasts.jpg
This is the one thing most men will be happy for women to fight for. Until the topless women scream sexual harrassment at the men who admire their tits. They are setting you up guys. Seriously if you think about it.🤔You men are called secret for telling a woman to smile.😁What do you think is gonna happen looking at their tits?
I wouldn't want it because while it would be distracting. If a ton of women were casually topless often and topless on tv in a casual sense. At some point you'd start getting used to it and it would desexualize breasts. But it would take away the visual fun men have toward breasts if desexualized and normalized.
That's true. A woman's body could then be as exciting for men as the male body is for women... This is why I think it sucks for straight women sometimes, but maybe it's irrelevant anyways because women are much less visual anyway...
@pizzalovershouse. Women these days scream sexual harrassment just by looking at them and making them feel uncomfortable. I agree that's not sexual harrassment but doesn't mean that's how so many woman see it as.
Yes we are less visual. Sure it's nice to see a guy with a nice body shirtless. But it doesn't make Mr want to go rub my hands all over him or jump his bones. And I'm a very sexual woman. From my experience most men are very excited about boobs and will get sexually excited about them. I think with women running around topless it may desensitize men eventually. Or maybe not. Women show a lot of cleavage these days and men still get excited but they are still leaving some mystery by not exposing the whole breast.
Men get excited by cleavage because they are a sexual display and we learn by symbols and they show but cause sexual tension because not seeing all of the breasts. Men in nudist or tribal cultures where women are casually topless aren't fazed by breasts. And cultures like the middle east with women and burkas, just seeing a woman's hair can be exciting for men there because they don't often see hair shown. Ankles during victorian times were seen as sexual and scandalous to be seen. Exactly, you can like a shirtless man, but there's nothing to be excited for. So when or if you have sex the first time with a man you're attracted to. Are you really that excited seeing his shirtless body? It sucks for you ladies. Us guys get this excitment seeing your breats when stripping because they are sexy and because they are shown off but hidden so fun for us. You don't get to have that fun seeing out bodies.
I would hate being a straight woman coming from my perspective being a man and knowing the thrill I get out of seeing a nude woman's body and taking her clothes off and her breasts and butt. And it sucks for guys too, who wished to ever feel that lust and excitment toward their body and rush and being a sex object to the woman of their desire to be ravaged. Even if a woman is turned on, it's a "false advertissment", because it's not really the man's body causing that excitment but combined things to go with the aesthetic of his body. So it feels a little bit of a lie when she's doing things to said body like it's something arousing and sexy because if it was, there would be excitiment in seeing a man's body shirtless from the get go and can't want to touch said chest and torso, but women aren't getting too excited or thrilled of the unraveling of the man they want to have sex with and seeing him nude or shirtless
@brennanhuff Yes it's more than just a man's body we are attracted too but I do get turned on seeing my man completely naked. I'm turned on by his ass, thighs and his cock that I know I'm gonna get to touch and will be inside me giving me multiple orgasms. When he is changing clothes I can't help but look and admire his body. But half nude doesn't send those signals that I want to ravish him. I can't say that all women see their men this way but I do.
you're turned on by your man, thus emotional aspect attached to the visual. So that excitment is his relation to you and the body you see. The cock is not really aesthetically pleasing, so though not seen often, it seems like most women aren't generally interested in seeing it unless it's intimately with the man they are with. Thus the big difference. Like how many women want to see a man's cock they may find attractive but don't know or a connection to? Whereas, guys don't even have to know the chick hardly, but just find her attractive to wanting to see her nude body or pussy. Maybe you aren't that attracted to men's chests or torso or shoulders. There are women where I've seen chest was a top body part they find attractive or sexiest. But I don't know if it's much different for them because while they find it attractive, because men so casually are shirtless, it seems a woman has nothing to get excited about when a man undresses
Whereas, I and men can get excited and anticipate fun times when going to see a woman's naked boobs. I like the freedom being shirtless when it's hot, but it kind of sucks in a way too, because I wish women get excited too and male body casually shown may part have to do with women not being excited about a man taking his clothes off. Maybe some guys aren't just their dicks and like their chests touched and kissed too... oh well... if a woman does that, it's fake... because if said body part or torso doesn't prompt that, then it's not the body part that would cause her to touch said body part and be excited. Part of the fun is not seeing your partner liking to please you, but knowing your body is part of her arousal and excitiment. It is for men when pleasing a woman, because women's bodies are arousing and sexy and anticipatiion women being sexy and sexualized but covered creates an amped excitment.
Well yes, but there are countries that don't sexualize women who wear no shirt. It's a bit late to change that in other countries that do. It's to the point where people sexualise women taking naked maturity pictures with their children. It's to the point people sexualize a woman fucking feeding her baby in public COVERD UP.
I think I the woman's breasts are beautiful I don't see it as a pornographic thing I mean I could it was my girlfriend or wife I wouldn't care she took off her top and other men on the beach saw her breasts, got to be pretty insecure her to panic about that come on
I voted No because it depends in the environment. Nude beaches, whatever. Public shopping or roaming the streets not unless they wear at least a bra. Female breast are as private as a man's penis. Keep it covered.
Exactly why I wouldn't do it. Of course men will love it when women have their tits out and legs spread open for them cause then they have easy access to women and they won't need any effort to get what they want. I don't wanna become so cheap.

Just another case of men using feminism to their advantage.
Sure, why won't you throw your life away in some corporate hellhole.
Sure, marriage is just something something patriarchy, let's just be friends with benefits.
Sure, go topless, it's unfair.
Suckers.
What?
Heyheyhey...
Feminism hurts us too. It sucks for everyone. Talk aboit the top 20% of men maybe.
Hahaha pathetic, it would be a choice not a necessity so don't get your knickers in a twist love.
This is the one thing most men will be happy for women to fight for. Until the topless women scream sexual harrassment at the men who admire their tits. They are setting you up guys. Some men don't care. Boobs are boobs. But still I say it's a trap.
That's because some men (not all) also have very little to no standards.

Exactly , I would avert my eyes , not drawn to boobs anyway
I just wish women would stop and keep a little mystery about us. They are gonna take the fun out of people's love for boobs.
by the way. My original comment I meant sexist mot secret
butbif a guy stares its not sexaul harrasment cuz if a guy stares at a sressed girl it isn't plus he would have to make a rude comment or fondle her
That's true. A woman's body could then be as exciting for men as the male body is for women... This is why I think it sucks for straight women sometimes, but maybe it's irrelevant anyways because women are much less visual anyway...

I can't say that all women see their men this way but I do.
if we lived in a world full of nude people guys would still get aroused by the yype of bodies they like best
you're turned on by your man, thus emotional aspect attached to the visual.
I think I the woman's breasts are beautiful I don't see it as a pornographic thing I mean I could it was my girlfriend or wife I wouldn't care she took off her top and other men on the beach saw her breasts, got to be pretty insecure her to panic about that come on
i can't tell where you're from since you are under anonymous but I thought they already had this right in America.

anyways i agree they should have equal rights since its something that doesn't hurt anyone
i forgot to add that it probably will hurt the porn industry in a way but that is obviously one of the last things we should care about
I voted No because it depends in the environment. Nude beaches, whatever. Public shopping or roaming the streets not unless they wear at least a bra. Female breast are as private as a man's penis. Keep it covered.
Hairy men should also keep their chest hidden?
I think women should get these rights, but I personally would not be topless. Although I still think that if women want to be topless, let them.
if a guy wants to go pantsless, let him.
Um sure, as long as he is wearing underwear. If not then I don't know what to say.
Hell no. Breasts are a private part for a woman why the hell would I show it to the public? What exactly is the benefit of women being topless?
It benefits men
Exactly why I wouldn't do it. Of course men will love it when women have their tits out and legs spread open for them cause then they have easy access to women and they won't need any effort to get what they want. I don't wanna become so cheap.
They would not access the breasts...
They would just stare at those amazingly beautiful piece
@guyuser2 still no. What gives those men the right to see my body?
Because you expose it
@guyuser2 never. I'm not up for display
