They make times good and strong. I mean women deserve respect but men should be in control. While the woman's opinions should weigh heavy on his decision he should make a decision based on what he thinks is truly and morally right for his family.
I don't know but our grandparrent marriages lasted like 50 years our parrents like 20 or 10 relationships nowadays are lucky to get to a year so they where doing something right that we are not
The fact that I like dominant women, it means that I am against traditional gender roles
the female accounts lmfao. its hilarious.
lets all not say what we wanna say just for the sake of "rebelling"
They are needed, and good. But not with force. Not with force to be put into traditional roles and not be forced to be accepting of people who dont wanna be in traditional roles.
Yes to a degree, don't force it on others, men are men and women are women, homosexuality and bisexuality is where it ends, none transgender bullshit, I believe they're just making it more difficult for the gay and bi, you may think I'm wrong and hey fuck you!
If you count stay at home mothers as a traditional gender role, then no.
Children are better off when the mother works.
In long run those are...
But not mandotary...
Its depends with whom you are and what you want to be with the other person/partner
Society is general likes a nice simple way of life, leads to less stress. However your house/environment is more important, figuring out what works there is far more beneficial. Whats good for society isn't always whats good for the individual.
We're not living in the 1940's and 1950's anymore. When you're married you can't have your partner giving 110% and YOU nothing marriage is not to be taken lightly. It's a commitment for life and well being of family equally shared.
You shouldn't EXPECT people to do things just because they're of a certain gender. That would be wrong
Traditional roles aren't perfect, but the ones we have now aren't either.
No absolutely not. i refer to sit at home all day cleaning, changing diapers, catering to a guy that has two arms and legs like a slave.
*I prefer not to
That's some hate you have there
No it is not. My dad was never a lazy man. and thanks to him I do not have a lazy man like most you guys today.
Because all women are hard workers. That's what you come across as.
I'm a hardworker. i can't speak for the rest. i know some lazy ones that prefer to have a thousand kids and watch dance moms all day. i dont see how they do it
No, two people working is better fot the society and their country's economy.
i think people should be able to choose what they wanna do.
Gender roles make 0 sense, so they are not good for society.. Doing something just because it's tradition is always a bad idea.
I agree with you bro! I want an individualistic, self sufficient woman, not one who wants my money and has no ambition to get it herself to buy clothes and support herself. I don't want a stay at home girlfriend, I can cook my own meals and clean by myself
@GothAncap are you willing to dress like George Washington? With make-up, curly wigs and frilly lace clothes?

That's irrelevant and I have no need to explain myself. You're just belittling the people who are strong enough to stand against the norm. You're insecure that not every girl likes or accepts your sexist, limiting "gender roles".
Hopefully you see that your way isn't the only way. To do that, you need to accept yourself and not rely on others. Puttimg others down is never ok, but it'll never effect me. This conversation is over. Have a nice day
Yes, because gender roles are based in biology and are essential for the creation and continuation of a society.
I bet you wouldn't be so mad if you weren't insecure about your ways being accepted. Nobody is obligated to accept gender roles in their relationships and I'd rather have a strong, independent woman than one who wants to be taken care of with my money and all. Of course, I'd help her if needed, but not just because she's a girl. I have no obligation to anyone in society, and it looks like you don't support freedom if you don't like what's being said. How about next time you try being more civilized and less condescending? She didn't deserve that
@GothAnacap
She deserved more than that for denying self-evident biological reality.
The gender drivel that both of you are parroting is a poisonous lie from the Communist Jews of the Frankfurt School.
Snowflakes.
Whining leftard snowflakes everywhere.
If all you can do is use ad hominem attacks, it shows you know you're wrong! I'm a voluntaryist, so you're actually more leftist than I am. Even if I was leftist, your argument would still be an attack on my character instead of you addressing my question.
How does it feel to be so intellectually weak that you have to threaten others and put them down? If everyone did what they wanted as long as they weren't harming anyone, you would go cry in the corner. Your desire to control others stems from a lack of emotional intelligence and self control. Whether you decide to be happy is up to you and you have no right to force your will on anyone.
There's nothing else to say, so this conversation is over
Division of labour has been a successful way of living for thousands of years.
I suspect that's not what you mean though.
I'm not saying we're bound by our genders, but we've both evolved in such a way that we specialize in certain fields.
Men are physically stronger and thus excel in more dangerous situations.
Women are more nurturing and are better with raising kids.
Both have their own ups and downs but we shouldn't demonize them because "muh not-so-overbearing patriarchy" You do what you want in life. Just don't be a dick to others for their choices.
Not bad nor good, whatever works works. The problems I see with younger people is they try so hard to get away from traditional gender roles that they don't do what is natural, making them unhappy.
I would say look at the divorce rate in this day and age and compare to 50 years ago. then make your own conclusions as to what works and what doesn't.
I think that women nurture the baby because they have boob milk. That’s why they should be the ones to stay home with the baby. Other than that, they can do whatever the hell they want
Men lactate as well.
Men can lactate, yes, but people only lactate after a pregnancy, so, unless the man deceives his body with special hormones into thinking it's pregnant, the body won't start lactating. Also, women are by nature built for lactating unlike men.
@Blunique that’s the most messed up thing I have ever heard. Why would you trust feeding a baby with anything else than what is most healthy and natural?
Oh I was just stating that.
It's upto person what she/he might chose to be.. If a guy wants be house husband... It's cool... And Wife want to do job... It's cool... Some men like dominant women some like to rule women... A house husband will do a great father with great fun
It doesn't really matter what type of life people choose for themselves or their family. So it's neutral tbh.
Gender roles are okey if there is mutual respect and appreciation and if for example a female does something that a male usually does she. should be applauded for it not tortured..
There are so many different types of people living different kinds of lives. What works for those guys over there, might not be right for you and me.
Nope, gender roles are just a social construct, I can't stand them... I don't like to "fit in the stereotype".
I would say neither do as you like assuming if you stay home that you can afford that
Depends on your definition of a good society really. I don't think that the people who think gender roles are good and the ones who don't have the exact same ideal society.
how many times has this question been asked now jfc
Anything that disregards the individual like that is bad news.
They were good for older agricultural and war faring societies.
A steady supply of cheap farm labor and fighters was the aim.
And social security for the men
Everyone has a job to do however what that job is should be up for them to decide
I think so as long as both respect and appreciate each other. Try help each other, acknowledge where you can. Little things and it would get your far
It worked for thousands of years. Not saying it's the best way of going about things but it still works and benefits society in its own way.
Yep. Obviously, nothing is good in excess, but look at where traditional gender roles brought us this far.
Well, it has worked well for thousands of years, why change something that works?
I'm a boy and I love cooking for example and I'm good at it, too!
Yes definitely. Not everyone is focusing on everything, we all play our part.
They just cause me issues daily so I'm not the biggest fan of them
I feel it's too stereotypically and is forced into the children's brains on what to do in life.
A woman belongs in the kitchen, buck-naked and pregnant.
No I'd still choose freedom even if with freedom comes chaos.
Roles should be shared , it's not complicated to figure that out 😂
In an ideal scenario though, the gender roles do share responsibilities.
Traditional mannerisms tend to evolve from generation to generation.
It's not particularly bad nor is it good, it really just depends on the people. For me personally, it can be either or.
Im. my house... we do the traditional roles but we also cover n do whatever needs done.. we cover eachother when need arieses
Good is a moral measurement societies are pragmatic measurements.
While I was reading this I couldn't help but wonder where is my sandwich at?
Traditional gender roles are good for society
I don't know as a Lesbian in relationships my girlfriend plays takes up the male role she one makes more money then I do kinda of a workaholic.
Only if they work for all those involved. That's most true of everything.
Yup, it's better for the child if the woman spends more time raising it.
Yes, women MUST be reduced to fuckslaves asap for the sake of all good.
Their "role" is to constantly strive to serve and please their lord.
In my opinion yes bring on the downvotes
You go girl
Thanks 😊
I'm in favour.
some are some aren't but none should be binding
No, they are absolutely not.
who let you out of the kitchen?
Why reinvent the wheel?
I find traditional gender roles pointless
