You're right, people in certain areas here do defecate in public.

This has a number of reasons.

In the very past when the sewers etc were not developed and population density was low, people used to go out in forests and fields for defecation which was believed to have dual benefit- one you don't have defecation and related germs in your home and another is natural fertilizer to fields and forests

That's though a thing of past. We have a number of people still drowning in poverty in rural areas who do not have proper living facilities, leave aside the availablity of toilets.

In fact, there is a campaign by our current government to provide assistance and other support to build toilets in such rural areas so that people get hygenic by use of toilets.

In the other hand, if the question is just to make fun, you should also realise and take note of the progress of people have made. Indians are commanding to positions in many MNCs, bodies like NASA. we are providing and supporting most of the IT system across the world... and there are many more

That said, it's a free world and you're entitled to your opinion!!!

In America, in rural farming areas, it was common for women to pee with others able to see. They usually did this with long dresses on. And when traveling, there were no public bathrooms or gas stations or Burger King's to stop at. And if you were working a large field, it made no sense to walk all the way back to the out house every time you needed to pee.
