Why do SO many people dislike transgenders?

I've heard so many people say really hurtful things to them. They make fun of them. They harass them and they leave hateful comments on social media. The way some people look at them when they walk past them
.. It really makes me wonder what's their problem? They are not harming you or something, so why do so many people dislike them? What happened to live and let live? It breaks my heart when even their family cut off ties with them. It's really sad. I'd appreciate your input

As a native-born East Asian, I really admire the Thais. I've been to Thailand several times, and it's SUPER refreshing to see an entire country treat transgenders like normal people. Seriously. In Thailand, people just treat transgenders very normally. No disgust. No hate. No acts of violence. Thais treat transgenders like a normal human being - which is exactly the way I would think transgenders would want to be treated.

I feel that where I'm from, East Asia, we treat transgenders the same way as well. Many transgenders end up being fashion icons or have a strong social following on social media. I don't think we're exactly at the Thai level yet - there are still some people who are rather... neolithic about transgenders.

But by and large, in general, we accept them as individuals and human beings. And sometimes, they even go on to be celebrities. We don't have the contempt, hate, fear, paranoia and revulsion that many Americans and other people living in predominantly English-speaking countries tend to have toward transgenders.

Here is a very famous Thai transgender, Ms. Treechada “Poyd” Petcharat, widely considered to be the most beautiful (and the popular) transwoman in Thailand.

She even starred in a Hong Kong film with several very famous Hong Kong actors. And from what I've read, the Hong Kong guys treated her like an absolute star. I think many of them were in awe at her beauty, her awesome sense of humor, and how much of a consummate professional she was on set.

And that's the way it absolutely should be.

Its something that doesn't make sense to me either. They are human beings who laugh, cry and feel just like us. I treat them with the same amount of respect as I should do with everyone in general. No idea where the hate comes from. Its their life, we all have a right to our own happiness, if they wish become a transgender, thats good for them. They don't deserve the hate. Exactly. One of the people on here think that they chose to do that because they want physical advantage at sports or because they seek attention, but I do not agree with that. Why would you take the risk of losing your friends and family, go through all the pain and suffer rejection just to get attention or get an advantage? So, no. I do not think that's why they chose to be a transwoman/transguy. Like you, I think that they just didn't feel right as a man/woman and decided to finally do something that would make them feel comfortable in their own skin. Nothing wrong with that, not sure what's all the hate about. Sometimes I think that people just hate /are afraid of anyone that's "different", but maybe I'm wrong.

I think a lot of people associate genuine trans people with the preachy “there’s billions of genders and to say otherwise makes you literally Hitler!” types. And therefore try to annoy them with comments like “you’ll always be male no matter what” which they don’t need reminding and most trans people seem to accept that anyway but at the very least want to be accepted as a woman (or man) on a social level. I mean take Blaire White (YouTuber) for example, yes she is biologically male but it’s hard to look at her and call her a man especially considering that she has boobs.

So now the onus is on you to show that transgenders were treated during early childhood in a manner a child of the opposite sex would be treated and that caused their dysphoria. It can be reversed but not always depending on the age that the desistance begins but that doesn't mean it can be reversed for everyone (especially if they're adults).

A transgender is not, and never will be any gender other than what they were born as; transition surgery is purely a mutilation of a body. You're also dealing with a mental disorder that, despite having several related mental disorders (all of which are still considered mental disorders despite trans being reclassified as sexual health) that are more specific to individual body parts or traits, is given special treatment to the point of celebration, which makes no sense. Additionally, all of these groups have an extremely high suicide rate, further highlighting the fact it's a mental issue. Now normally when somebody is psychologically ill, they are treated in such a way that attempts to help them get a grip on reality. This is the opposite of what coddling them does; you don't help an alcoholic or a drug addict by showering them with their vices.

So in summary... It's not that I "hate" transsexuals; it's that I hate how we are forced to handle the subject and I don't want any of that baggage in my life, plus I'm not into men especially not ones who have surgically altered themselves to look like women.

Like here a couple weeks ago, the government made so only men could leave days X Y and Z, and girls, the rest of the week, as to prevent couples from leaving (that happened very often)

I have a lady friend who's a corrections officer at our states wimen prison. Ans she works with a transgendered. Now they have locker rooms for men and women. And the C. O. tried to appease everyone by creating a separate changing room for her. And she turned around and sued the state because she's like i identify as a man not an "other'.

Fear is tied to aggresion, and is a common reaction to the unknown. 1. Gender is a factual existing thing, referring to the social aspect of sex. It's real, and you can look that up in the dictionary. Likewise, there actually is some scientific backing evidence for gender dysphoria, so saying it's false and not real science is just plain wrong. In fact, the fact that trans people exist just outright proves that to be wrong too.
2. That's not changing your way of thinking, that's someone asking you to call them by their pronouns, and you being like: "I'm not going to do that" even though at no point does that negatively effect you whatsoever.
3. Link the study please. Two problems with that statement as is true or not: one there's other solutions compared to outright hating an entire group of people. Two, that's not necessarily a bad thing on its own, but I presume number 4 explains why you might think it to be a bad idea.
4. First off, individual people do not get a suicide rate. A fully accepted trans person does not "have a suicide rate that never goes below 41%". That makes no sense. They're either suicidal or not. What you actually mean is the suicide rate for trans people is high... for a lot of reasons. Sure, I'm sure some of them are unhappy and never truly feel comfortable in their body. But also there's people like you who harass them and outright make it your goal to make sure they never feel comfortable in their body, like you specifically stated you do in number 2. I can at least admit that makes me agree with you that a lot of children feeling they are trans is troublesome given the living conditions to be trans, but ya know, suicide rate doesn't have to be ridiculously high, we can just treat trans people as people

3. Yea reading the abstract included in the link you provided, it's actually late teens who have people in their friend group come out as trans, not what you said AT ALL. You specifically stated false information from that specific study. It also doesn't really conclusively determine why this happens, just shows there is a connection between the two, sorta the same thing with how as ice cream sales go up, so do murders. It's not because people eating ice cream tend to murder more people, it's because people tend to murder more in the summer when it gets hotter, and amazingly, also tend to purchase more ice cream. It doesn't really support what you say outright. It's ways of determining this seem kinda shoddy with parent surveys, not enough to be like "this is outright false" but enough that it should probably go through a better sort of test or multiple evaluations.
Also this study conflicts with what you said in number 1, whereas gender doesn't exist and is not real. Not only does it mention it's real, it determines there might be a new version of it they dubbed "rapid onset gender dysphoria."
4. That's just outright not how suicide rates work. That means 41/100 trans people in the same room IN THEORY would kill themselves. This does not mean a trans person has a 41% chance of killing themselves, that's just not how math works. You have a 50% chance of flipping a coin and getting heads. That does not mean if you look at the top of the coin, it has a 50% chance of being heads. That side is always heads.

1. Your study doesn'tprove anything regarding transgenderism. In fact, there are bigger differences among the sexes than there are between the sexes. The neurological differences between men and women are rather small to be exact. But those differences coming into play and making someone have a more "feminine" or "masculine" brain doesn't make them suddenly the opposite gender. Those are two very different things.
