I have my own views about gender as it exists as a sexual concept and a social one. These views are at odds with what Transgender (and Cisgender) people often report about their gender. Having said this, I don't believe it to be any more a mental illness than "Cisgenderism", (by the way you won't win a lot of PC points with "transgenderism" lol)
People of any identity who want to be referred to in a specific way will be accommodated by me without any further questions. Even if you disagree with what they believe about themselves or the world, it takes less time to add an "s" to "he" than it does to hold a door open for a stranger. And less effort too.

I think it is ridiculous that this transgender epidemic is so out of hand. Ok, so you are sexually confused and want to be the opposite sex. Great. Nobody gives a shit. Make your changes. That, to me, is a very personal thing. If I have breast cancer and must have a double mastectomy, I'm not going to parade around chanting I'm cutting off my tits Like, seriously, that group of people are craving attention, as far as I'm concerned. The gay community have gotten the rights they've fought for, so now go about your business and quit shoving it down the throats of people who, in all honesty, don't give two shits about what you want to do to your body. The gay community has gotten really really annoying. Don't demand respect when you have no respect to give.
I feel like everyone should just leave transgender people alone like they aren’t hurting you. It’s not a mental disorder, they just don’t feel like they were born in the right body.
No I don't think it should be normalized or glorified because it's not normal. It is a disorder and the individuals afflicted with it deserve to be treated compassionately. But the worst thing for everyone is to expect society to buy into the delusion. And the efforts to push what has become an ideology about being "trans" on children is child abuse. Especially when disordered children are subjected to harmful hormone "treatments" and mutilating surgery. But even the efforts to encourage children to "question" what they really are is abusive and damaging to their psychosocial development.

A mental disease has to be treated, not glorified.
I think it is a mental disorder and shouldn't be glorified. However, I'm not sure dressing up like what society sees to be feminine is necessarily a mental disorder. That's really just nonconformist. Have a look at Motley Crue from the 80s. They basically dressed as transvestites. But did they have a mental disorder? Maybe but probably not. That was just artistic expression and boundary pushing.
It's only when a man literally thinks they ARE female that I believe it is a mental disorder. Likewise when a woman literally believes they are male. For a long time, I fell into the camp of "It's a mental disorder" but not too long ago, a former colleague of mine made an argument that convinced me. She said that a "mental disorder" is a state of mind that is harmful to the individual. If it causes no harm, no distress, and doesn't prevent them from living a happy, healthy life, then it isn't a "disorder." It's just an "order." Different from the norm, but "different" does not mean "bad."
Internally, I still find myself uncomfortable when presented with the subject. That is my knee-jerk reaction. But the more rational part of me now agrees with my former colleague.i think its a joke that has been running to long, it some how went from the movie screen to rel life for some idiots. holly wood messed everyone up lol and seeing how holly wood is no longer relevant to anyone outside of holly wood it only a matter of time before holly wood will loose its name sake which i can't wait for. i got party favors ready to be used on that day. lol
Here's the thing. Why do I have to admire it? Or hate it? Why do I have to dislike it? Or like it?
Why can't I just not have an opinion on something that does not concern me?
But if extending transgenders the same rights and freedoms that I have fits your definition of being an admirer. . . then color me an admirer. Even as I have stated many times transgender folks make me uncomfortable. No, because it is a mental disorder. Just a couple days ago it was released that the need for psychiatric help does not diminish, and in many cases actually increases after surgery and hormone therapy.
Of course I'm sure that'll get censored and swept under the rug since it doesn't fall in line with the agenda...no. we should return to seeing it as the psychological/medical condition that it is. yes we shouldn't hate on them like we shouldn't hate on people in the wheelchair. yet we should not acknowledge people in a wheelchair as "physically perfectly healthy". that's just nonsense.
Glorify sexuality? This is an expression of mental illness. If your whole identity and world view come down to your sexuality, you're a pretty shallow person. I suggest you give people the mental and psychical support they need, instead of giving credence to the imaginary.
Well if that's the case I must have the same mental disorder But doesn't the brain relate to all things , it governs our whole being. They use to say this about women who had children out of wedlock, even living together. But having a kid match of your brain being programmed to be female in a male body.
But being female to male are only the extremes of a spring scale.
To glorify it NO...Absolutely not. These people are mentally ill and should be treated as such. Being unable to accept the reality and hide in a self created world of your imagination is mentally ill. Thinking you are in the wrong body is exactly that.
"Glorified"
Glory
noun: glory
1.
high renown or honor won by notable achievements.
2.
magnificence or great beauty.
No, I would think not.
My standard for "glory" is a little higher than that.No. Why should it. I have never understood all the hype behind people’s choices. Ok you are gay nothing wrong with that by why the need for a parade. Straight people don’t have straight parades. Why make a hype about transgenders. Ok you are trans go on live your life.
Gender Dysphoria IS a mental disorder, and needs to be treated. Part of the solution is getting the "LGBT" agenda OUT of the public schools.
i think we should support trans people and mind our own business about our own bodies
Not glorified or treated as a mental disorder. Just leave it be.
It is a mental disorder. Think about it, how fucked in the head do you have to be, to want to mutilate your body so it better represents what you want to be?
No but people should not treat them as second class citizens
They also should have the same rights as everyone elseWhat's next, cutting off your son's penis because you wanted a daughter? No! I feel it's a pile of faeces that should be flushed down the toilet!
I totally agree with you on the mental disorder. I think homosexuality is as well. I think these people are traumatized and don't even realize it.
it should be accepted. Life liberty pursuit of happiness
