Is it true that men don’t typically care whether a women makes a large salary compared to a simple decent wage?

IF it’s true it gives me a sense of relief to be honest. Just one less thing to worry about having to compete about. Having A LOT of money can be a personal goal and less of a burden of being another responsibility. Don’t get me wrong I want to earn a lot of money and I definitely I’m understand the responsibility to have my basic needs covered by my line of work. But to know that it won’t make or break me whether I am rich or not (generally speaking) just takes some weight off of my shoulder.

No, men don't care about a woman's salary. In fact, in some ways a woman with a large salary is unattractive to most men, at least the kind of men most women find attractive. Men find high earning women unattractive for the same underlying reasons women find high earning men attractive, and it has everything to do with what men and women have been genetically programmed over thousands of generations to seek in a mate to ensure the survival of the species. Women have always needed a man who can protect and provide for her and her children, whereas men have always needed a woman who will be a good mother to his children. In the mother's case that means being present to take care of and nurture the children, not being out hunting for food. That was the man's job. In the modern world things have obviously changed significantly, but our genes have remained the same. A woman who is career focused is not going to make a good mother and wife because her priorities will conflict with her primary role as a woman.
