Today I was triggered by a "caution men at work sign". For a start why do you never see a person at work sign or a woman at work sign? Then there's the question of why should I be the one to be cautious? Safety is their responsibility or can men not be trusted to injure passers by?
We need a sign that says "people of various genders working carefully as possible but please be cautious just in case one of them has a little whoopsie"
It soon will be in the USA.. LoL. The American House of Representatives just banned all use of gender words in their meetings. It will happen first in California, and then spread like a disease to the rest of the country. That is usually the way things go. You can take a look at what is happening in California to see what is coming soon in national laws.
I was just reading that the California board of education has guidelines for teachers about the use of gender in everyday speech. The teachers in kindergarten and elementary school are instructed to pull a student aside if you see "it" refer to another student as a boy or girl. The teachers will explain that using those harmful words might make a transgender kid feel sad or left out. The guidelines also say that if for some reason the teacher needs to separate the classroom by gender, they have to say things like, "Alright, everyone who likes to wear pink dresses and play with dolls, move to this side of the room, and everyone who likes sports cars and monster trucks, move to this side of the room. 🙄
Another thing the school board did was make a list of "banned words" that some people could find offensive. All teachers and professors in the state have to comply with this directive. Of course the standard genders are banned, but one of the banned words is "American". 🤯🤯. Why? Because if you say, "I am an American!", You might hurt someone's feelings who is not and they would think you are boasting. It might make them cry.
I am sooooo glad that I do not have to live in that country right now! Many countries are quickly passing laws to hopefully prevent that "cancel culture" from spreading outside of the USA. My country will not entertain such foolishness.
Ok, this is just get'N into the "political realm" of what liberals, leftist and democrats speak of when they talk of racism. And what they're calling stastimic racism , doesn't truly exist like they're talking about. America has come a very long ways since the early to mid 1900's. The democratic politicians use racism to try and garner votes. Just take a close look at all the laws that were passed from the past. Number 1 for instance was Joe Biden's crime bill's in the 90's where it had sent millions of black men to prison for many years for only possessing a small amount of illegal drugs (marijuana included). And even on the House floor he seriously degraded the black community in his speech about his bill he was trying to get passed into law. Being "woke" is just a fake term used by the left to degrade tens of millions of people who just don't see eye to eye with their opinions. In my own personal opinion, I truly believe the woke society needs to wake theirselves up to what the real majority of people really believe and not just degrade everyone that doesn't see things their way. Just for instance their gun theory. It isn't gun's that kill people. It's the idiot's that pull the trigger of the gun. And so they want to just ban guns all together. LoL. Why not just ban cars because there are some people that get behind the wheel of the car drunk and cause fatal accidents. But NO, they actually do the right thing on that scenario and bring justice to the person who's actually at fault for causing a fatality while under the influence while driving. They don't just ban all cars. Exact same thing should apply towards guns as well. I swear, people in this world today are just getting ridiculously totally stupid. And so on a different note, I think you are a very pretty looking young lady and if you would just lose the stupidness of your thought mentality , I believe you would and could get so so much further in life. Well, I would assume since it's generally men working those kinds of jobs and men tend to be more general. Also notice you went from a 4-word sign to a 20+ word sign which no one would bother to even read. I agree more women are starting to also work these jobs so maybe can change to "Caution Men & Women at Work"
and the reason you in particular need to be cautious is that you're the one that is walking into the area, they are at work obviously they already know that they need to be cautious, but obviously, someone who isn't not working might not know exactly what is going on and some people have been known to walk in and cause an accident. Also if a worker gets hurt then they can take care of that with health insurance etc. but if you get hurt that's a potential lawsuit which I am sure they don't want.

Firstly, humanity as a whole is referred to as “man”. The plural is “men”. Under this definition you are already being included.
Secondly, these signs are usually for roadworks and such which is a, you guessed it!, a MALE DOMINATED profession. Certain professions attract, but not exclusively, attract certain genders. Eg, how many male beauty therapists do you see?
I’m personally offended that the sign doesn’t tell me to be cautious of dinosaurs. We need to include the elderly.

Well I mean, men do the vast majority of dangerous work so it kind of makes sense regardless. Men are 10 times more likely to die on the job. I don't disagree that we could change it to humans at work, I just don't see why it matters if women don't want those dangerous jobs anyways. We'll change the sign and it'll still be a crew of men doing it, I guess people are just offended by the truth?

Because depending on context, "men" doesn't always mean "males." One such example would be "the realm of men" which you hear in fantasy stories a lot. Doesn't mean a place where only males are. "Men" is sometimes shorthand for "human beings." "Men at work" is the same. Doesn't necessarily mean males. Just means human beings.

Because not everything is a gender study or politically correct matter. MEN make up the majority of construction. MEN take on more of the dangerous jobs in society than women. As for the purpose of the sign, it is to warn that workers are in the area just like any road construction project and the sign means treat the men working in the area as pedestrians aka don't run them over. And legally construction sites are NOT liable for anyone who gets injured if they walk into a construction area with a sign properly displayed. They are there to do a job, not worry about the safety of idiots passing by. I like your version of the sign, but studies have shown that the average person walking by will not read such a lengthy sign fully. Those signs are phrased the way they are because they get the message across. The message is not "start a liberal whine fest about political correctness". The sign means "don't worry about how this sign is worded but take heed of the safety warning".
Instead of trying to change wording on signs how about you be productive and try and help with the homeless, the elderly, at risk youth. There are way too many things that you can be focusing on rather then focusing on words on a sign. STOP with the BS and start to make a difference in life.

They originate from a period when few if any women were employed in road construction. Even today probably 95%+ of road construction jobs are held by men. Keep in mind, in some contexts, the words "men" and "man" refer to all humans not just male. But I do agree that it would be a good idea if they came out with more inclusive signs. It's a long slow process to change any culture. The first time I ever saw a female on a road crew was only 7 years ago.
Well men do the vast majority of dangerous work, especially construction work which is what this is likely talking about. Perhaps they should change it from "caution men working" to "caution dangerous hazard", "caution construction zone", or something. Regardless it seems pretty realistic as men are 10 times more likely to die on the job when compared with women, it's clear men take the vast majority of dangerous work like construction so it makes sense that it would mostly be men doing the job.

Well we have those signs in America printed on the signs you will see a finger held up to a set of lips and they caption it says shhhhh men at work and then a picture Everyman humping a woman so I think you're right by asking this question I think it is sexist why won't they put the woman on top of the guy humping him

Well I have yet to see with my own eyes a woman working construction yet so as long there's only men it's men at work.
And as far as safety goes the sign is like saying be careful not something meant to justify their mistakes so learn to take things positively.
Also using the term "triggered" is disrespectful to those who have PTSD from war and get triggered by certain things and find themselves mentally back in war so using it so lightly is just wrong

A sign is a notification/notice. It gives you hints about things to alert for. If you go past a sign quickly and it was a big paragraph, you wouldn't be able to no what's going on. It's a quick blurb of info.

No, because it usually is 'Men at Work', and it is a caution sign because those men could be so focused on what they are doing and you do not know the safety rules they are working under, which is why the areas they are working in are usually cordoned off with the addition of the cautionary warning signs.
I don't think we nee to go as far as your last suggestion, because if there is a 'whoopsie' it more than likely will not be a small one!!
I think this is a troll post but I hate the idea that things that are describing what is what is sexist or racist. Like the definition of the word has to include some form of superiority. If it's just describing something than it's not sexist.

No its not sexist, because if you turned round that corner and saw who was working there 99 times out of a 100 there would be men at work. I work in a trade and whether it is sexist or not, men work in these generally labour intensive industries not Women. That isn't sexist to say, it is just a statement of fact, most girls won't want to grow up and become a brick layer or work for the council laying tarmac.
