The question is something of the an "apples to oranges" comparison in that "my body, my choice" when applied in the abortion case involves not one body, but two. Whereas with the vaccine it involves only the individual, albeit with the potential to impact others.

In the case of abortion, there are those who will argue that the fetus is not a human life, but the burden than falls upon them to say at what point, specifically and concretely, the it becomes human and what the differences - moral and scientific - are one second before that point and one second after. Get it wrong and you have the state, in effect, legalizing murder.

The point being that with abortion the individual is making a choice for herself and foisting the consequences of that choice off on another who has no responsibility for that that initial choice. Thus creates an ethic of power in which the individual imposes their will on another because they have the capacity to do so.

By contrast, with the vaccine, no such ethic comes into play. The individual may choose not to get the vaccine but the consequences of that choice fall on no one but themselves. It may be a wise or an unwise choice, but its consequences do not extend beyond the individual who makes that choice.

To be sure, the possibility of transmission of a disease to others comes into play. However, here the consequences can be limited because the other individual may get the vaccine too and thus protect themselves from the consequences of the choice made by those who did not. This being an option that the unborn fetus does not have and has no capacity to attain.

Even in the case of the vaccine though, it is somewhat the fallacy of the false alternative. As the state does, in some cases, mandate vaccines.

For example, before a child may be enrolled in school, they are obliged to be given certain vaccines by their parents. Polio and Mumps being two examples. A child not so vaccinated may be excluded from school. This in turn being precluded because the state requires that all children be given a formal education.

So in truth, directly or derivatively, the concept of "my body, my choice" is never absolute. As indeed no right is absolute. It is not that such abstract rights do not exist, but as the 18th century British statesman and political philosopher Edmund Burke put it, "their abstract perfection is their practical defect."

All rights are in balance and the purpose of politics and democratic government is to allow the society to weigh and balance such rights against one another and against their absence and to set a standard consistent with what the society deems practical and moral. The problem at the moment being that society, unthinkingly, has turned this on its head.

Thus, "my body, my choice." This, again, conducing in practice to an exercise of mere power relations. The individual chooses, because they have the power, to decide not to get a vaccine. This being offset by the fact that others have the same power and thereby may protect themselves from the consequences of other's choices.

By contrast, with abortion, the individual chooses because they have the power. The problem being that the fetus, which is NOT responsible for the actions that created it, has no defense against the power to exercise that choice. Thus it becomes mere object - a thing to be dispensed with or not according to taste.

"My body, my choice" then really is a slogan for power masquerading as morality. As Burke said, "The effect of liberty to individuals is that they may do as they please. We ought see what they will do before we risk congratulations."

The vaccine. It takes a man and a woman to make a baby and the baby is not 100% owned by the mother (otherwise, they'd stop bitching about child support and "men need to step up" and all the clichè sh*t terrible women say). Not taking a rushed, potentially dangerous vaccine made out of fear, paranoia, and greed isn't the same thing. Especially for something that has a 99% survival rate.

I can certainly understand how people would want you to take it; "you're risking others health and safety" and blah, blah, blah... I'd even be willing to agree to those not taking it to have limited contract with others at work or whatever... IF it was actually a safety risk. We all know this vaccine isn't about mere safety; it's about power and control. Too many sheep are lured in by the promise of free donuts and virtue signaling and other bullsh*t for me to trust this vaccine, even if it was properly tested and completely safe (which it's not).

This is just about obdience and control, just like with the masks (which only exist to subjugate the population; no cheap $5 mask is stopping an airborne pathogen; the masks are just to stop you from putting COVID in your mouth, nose, or eyes if you have it on your fingers, which is why washing your hands is far more important than wearing some cheap-ass mask you got from Walgreens). A small part of it is about greed and giving China more money, but it's largely about power and control. SJW'S don't give a sh*t about the safety of others, but they sure do love telling people to wear that damn mask, and hate it when people don't obey.

So with all that said, I'm never getting a f*cking COVID vaccine. If so many assholes want me to do it, it can't be good. That's hardly the same choice as letting one or two irresponsible people raise a human life for 18 to 20 years. I'm all for abortion; the world has enough humans in it, as it is.

The vaccine is a global experiment to see how easily the governments can control the populations. The experiment has been a huge success.

You MUST MUST wear a mask to walk into a restaurant where I live.

Once your're inside the restaurant, the Covid demon will leave you alone. You are perfectly safe. It's just the walking in part that's very dangerous.

The vaccine is phase two of the experiment.

Will people be dumb enough to get a vaccine, knowing they still have to wear at least two masks to get into that same restaurant?

As for killing your baby... that's difficult, and up to you.

I bet a lot of people who support abortion actually think it's murder, they just justify doing it because it's legal and act as if those who support it, are trying to 'oppress' them and decide to play the victim as a result - truthfully, I don't know the science behind it, nor do I care to argue it, but people who are against it, do seem to have a better argument and some of the same 'oppressed people' are the same ones that probably don't even have an issue with circumcising a baby boy and I mean it 'no uterus no opinion', then why not 'no penis no opinion' ?

If it's okay to decide to abort a baby, simply because you don't want it, then people should be allowed to refuse a vaccine, that from what I've heard that doesn't even stop you from spreading it to others, which totally takes out the 'selfish' factor (assuming I'm right about the spreading part) and that has a 99% recovery rate, I mean think about this, if the infection rate is that high and it spreads that easily, then the chances are most of us have caught it at some point and I don't recall dying and any time I 'fell ill', I had a bit of a runny nose, sometimes I get every year and I'm pretty sure I've heard worse ones before and since I never got tested, I can't confirm that it was even covid-19 and I've even heard that once you get it and recover, you're immune to it.

People are quick to deem anyone who doesn't want the vaccine as stupid, but at the same time, say it's good, because we know who the idiots are, yeah well, their body their choice and if die out due to not getting it, people won't have sympathy for them and think it's a good thing, so I don't know what they're so upset about, I mean it's a win-win for them.

There's always the chance I'm wrong, because there's a lot of things I don't know, but this whole thing sounds like an excuse to control people's lives and fuck around with their mental health, because the media and politicians are very honest and never lie (!) I mean I'm sure , there are people who have died over it, more than likely people who already had some underlying health conditions, but is it really anywhere near as high of a number as people are making it out to be or is it an excuse to scare people, hoping they go to the hospital, where they aren't allowed visitors and anything could be going on, that we don't know about, where someone goes to hospital with a broken finger of something and next thing you know, they died over 'covid'.

Due to the uncertainty of not knowing whether or not I've caught it, if I did take a test and the results came back positive for it, I sure as hell aren't going to the 'overflowing' hospital where I'm not allowed visitors and anything could be going on.

It's your body, so nobody should be able to force medical operations on you (within reason, if you're found unconscious and in need of medical attention, you could argue doctors medically aiding you without your consent is justified).

However, I don't think that statement applies to abortion, as the "body" is arguably not yours. Just because you're attached to it and your body produced that body doesn't make it yours. Similarly, it wouldn't be right for a conjoined twin to say "my body my choice, so I'm going to get a tattoo on my conjoined twin's face." Because, again, it's arguably not their body.

So it has more legitimacy regarding the vaccine.

But I'd also like to clarify my stance on abortion, as this likely will result in inaccurate assumptions (not that I'm faulting anyone who assumed incorrectly, I understand why they would), I'm not entirely opposed to abortion. I support early-term abortion (as a last result) and oppose mid to late-term abortions unless the life of the mother is at risk.
