It is a bit of a grey area. No one should be able to use your body for their own life. But what if the entire world needs to use your body for the survival of the species? And what if that use is of the least inconvenience possible? These aren't easy questions. How can you know if someone is refusing because they have genuine concerns they mysteriously never had before or because they are trying to bring the end of as much human life as possible, just to have something to blame on a new president they don't want anyone to like? You can't know. And neither is really worth risking all of civilization over.

It's like the train track thing where it's headed for 7 people tied to a track, do you divert it to another track that has one person tied to it? What if you knew all it would do to the person on the second track is lightly brush up against them with a needle? It's still violating their bodily autonomy and you can no longer just assume they will accept the mild inconvenience to save lives. Right wing misinformation has worked tirelessly to frame everything in contexts like these.

The future of the species isn't at risk because of the coronavirus. It's actually quite benign so far as viruses that cause pandemics go. It only really affects the obese, the otherwise seriously unhealthy, and the very old. In other words, those who were already dying anyway.

A morbid outlook, but anyway it's more general than this specific instance of a pandemic. The next one could be worse and if we still have a third of the country that feels like it is more satisfying to get attention from being rebellious or sabotaging an administration they don't like instead of performing the mildest of inconvenience, then it isn't going to be any better.

I get the sense that such people actually hate their free will. They want to be told to do what they want to do, but don't want to be the one in charge of making that decision, if that makes sense. But because the left is this huge faction of people who seems to revel in their free will, the religious right, who hates their own free will, is determined to make the left also hate free will by wielding it in as asinine of a way as they can arrange to force the left to agree that maybe some people would be better off if they had no free will. The they get to point out that there is no way to judge who is worthy so we may as well leave it all up to one sociopathic strong man to tell us what to do. The world isn't so clear-cut, so black-and-white. One "exceptional circumstance" I had in mind is if the mother's life is in danger, or the pregnancy was the result of a rape. Both relatively rare, but they do sometimes still happen.

You are trying to find a relationship where none exists. What you are attempting here is called a crosstabs analysis and unfortunately what such an analysis leaves out, mathematically, are the interaction effects if they exist. If they DO exist, they can exist in the absence of main effects. You cannot assume a main effect based on an identified interaction, and vice versa.

Further, if not getting or not getting an abortion had no effect on the health of others including unborn children, nobody would care. As a matter of fact, abortions kill unborn children. If not being vaccinated had no effect on others nobody would care, but NOT getting vaccinated means that you can infect and kill others more easily, and additionally your body when infected becomes a sort of petri dish where variants can form, and in turn, those variants can infect and kill others - so vaccination status is a legitimate public health issue twice over.
