I know a lot of liberals will read this question and will go off on a rant about republicans trying to somehow "disenfranchise" voters by passing voter id laws. I would like them to please answer these questions... So far no liberal will answer them
1) If having to present a valid, state issued photo id prevents black people from voting, then how do these people survive? They must have one to get a job, cash a check, rent an apartment, recieve food stamps, medicaid, welfare., drive a car. Anyone who is living "off the grid" like this has to be on the run from the law and be on the FBI's most wanted list, and they have to be recieving a lot of assistance from someone. They obviously would not be able or willing to vote anyway.
2) You claim that poor black people would have to pay for the id. In many states, a photo id can be free if you are unemployed or on assistance. How many people would this disenfranchise?
3) Why do you support the democrat efforts to remove the verifications on id's? Several important battleground states that are run by democrats, passed new voter laws last summer that were designed to give their party an advantage. They removed the requirement for a photo id, removed the requirement for a check of signatures on ballots, removed the requirement to check the name and address against the names on an official voter list. Tell me how this helps democracy? Without these checks in place, I could walk in and cast my vote for Biden under the name "Mickey F**king Mouse", then go to a different place and cast another for Biden as "Donald Duck". The carefully selected poll workers would be mostly democrat, so they would not bat an eye if were wearing a Biden-Harris tshirt. They would be busy blocking the view from the few republican monitors, as reported in many voting places. 🤣
4) In South Africa, years ago, Nelson Mandela was really serious about the need for voters to present a photo id to vote in elections. There are a lot of black people in that country who are unbelievably poor by our standards. The poorest black family in the USA would seem rich to them. Was Nelson Mandela being racist against his own people by requiring photo id?
Just pointing out a couple things. 1) why would someone living "off the grid" HAVE to be avoding the law or the other stuff you said? There ARE some people that simply choose to "retire" from the human race and maybe go live in a cave somewhere and try to become the next Euall Gibbonns (sp?). There's also the possibility that they are already filthy rich and don''t NEED outsisde support. 2) As far as I know, a state I. D. is only $10.00! How much could that put anyone out unless, like me a couple years ago, they have absolutely no income and are flat broke.
And a driver's licence or state ID shouldn't count. You can get either of those with a Russian passport. In 2016 all the Dims were worried about Russia meddling in our elections. Now they are inviting them to vote in our elections.
That is not what it means. To vote you must identify yourself and be on the list of registered voters. Typically, you must sign and I suppose they could verify your signature. However, that person cannot vote again. You might claim to be someone that is registered and that hasn't already voted. However, you would be committing a felony and if the actual registered voter shows up to vote likely there will be an investigation and you may have been captured on video. If a person values their freedom, they shouldn't take that risk.
A person could register and vote in more than one state. However, that is illegal. It can happen but unless the election is extremely close, it will not change the election results.
So you are saying that if there is no voter ID required to cast a vote, then the person who goes to vote signs his name and they check that signature to the registered vote signature? If one is required to have a voter ID to register, why not use that same ID to vote? That way they don't have to compare signatures, which could be subjective to the person analyzing it?
When you vote, they can verify the signature, but usually, they don't have the time. However, if the registered voter submitted a photo, checking the photo would be quicker and better. It wouldn't prevent someone from voting in more than one state. Regardless, the election results would almost certainly be the same.
The alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election that many, including me, believed occurred was not due to not using voter IDs. Instead, it was voting machines that can be programmed to give desired results, fake mail-in ballots, and copies of mail-in ballots that were counted multiple times.
I’m not opposed to voter IDs in elections because they would eliminate some fraud. However, in my opinion, it would be far better to improve procedures such as eliminating most mail-in ballots, verifying that the voting machines give accurate results, and verifying that all ballots are valid and only counted once.
If you aren't who you say you are, then you go to jail. If you vote more than once, then you go to jail. Illegal immigrants cannot vote, and if they lie about their eligibility, then they go to jail.
Audits are performed at every polling station after any election to ensure accuracy and that fraud is detected and corrected.
All this nonsense about the 2020 "steal" is fiction and at this point if you believe the election was rigged then there's no hope for you- you've fallen victim to fascist propaganda and society will eventually give up on you.
I think the first scenario is more likely. The authorities have your name in the voting list, but that doesn't stop you from voting in other people's names. Of course those people then won't be allowed to cast their votes.
As for the illegal immigrant thing, yes that may happen too. Any person would get themselves registered on the voting list claiming they're a citizen... then without an id, there's nothing to stop them from casting their vote (s).
So in order to vote one first has to register to vote. Does a person need an ID in order to register? And then once registered, one doesn't need an ID to vote. Sam could say he is Tom and vote?
Yeah, an id is required for registering. But in your scenario, I figured maybe it won't be required.
And no, that's not what I meant. I was answering according to the hypothetical scenario you set. Of course you're required to furnish your id at the time of voting. That's why one person can't vote a no. of times and illegal immigrants can't vote at all.
Simple, people who are not entitled to vote, call them non citizens for the politically correct pukes, will be able to sway our elections. Which should never happen.
