there was this (cartel-linked) guy that was interested on my best friend (this was years ago, when even the cartels had some "codes of honor") and as she used to hang out by the end of the street where she lived, this guy just showed up while I was there by chance, and he told hold her "hey, let's do a round, why don't you get in the car"
I said to him that no, she would not get in the car with him but he just ignored me and said to her to get in the car and "let's go" which, she did not, and that's when he looked at me, then he looked back to another end of the street and there were two trucks full of people, his escorts basically, and then he looks back at me so I just said, "yeah, I know what it takes, and that's what it will take, if you want to take her, you'll have to take me first and whatever happens it'll be, so that's up to you"
then he took out his phone and was about to call someone (because that's the usual around here and back then as well) and I know he was going to hand me the phone "someone wants to talk with you" so... before that happened, I handed him my phone and told him... "you check the numbers in there, and call whoever you want, like I said, whatever happens will happen but she's not going with you as long as I'm standing here"
he laughed, shook his head and then he just got close to me and told me to my face "you'll hear about me soon" and I'm not going to lie here, that was disturbing AF, and all of my insides felt WEAK but I did not, my mind was set and I meant everything I said... anyway, I didn't sleep for about three days after that but it was fine, back then it was all about the calls and who you had in your contacts, today... it goes a bit differently though
when you really care for someone, you do care... that is courage, to me anyway

In Vietnam, rescued a Marine that was wounded. Carried him through the jungle overgrowth under enemy small arms fire and mortar rounds to my rescue boat.
I wouldnât say that I am a courageous woman per se. I certainly wasnât as a 13yo, but once it came to light, telling the police what my uncle did to me took a LOT of courage! Since then, I would say that I am a MUCH stronger person, and I am becoming a LOT more courageous.

As a firefighter we tend to always be getting tested.
One of the fires that was one that made me think twice was a burning propane delivery truck inside of a garage.
They are not supposed to be in a garage in the first place. By the time we arrived on scene it was blowing out of the relief valve a go 30ish feet in the air.
It sounded like a jet engine roaring. I positioned my engine between that garage with the burning truck inside and the extremely larger bulk propane tank that was located not that far away.
Propane tanks have a really bad habit of exploding, called a BLEVE, where when the tank explodes 1/2 of the tank can stay put, and the other part can fly off like a rocket in a huge fireball. Some have landed about 1/2 mile away.
There are a lot of video on that on you tube etc.
Also there is also the ensuing fireball that will instantly burn everything around it, including me.
My job was to keep the large tank cool so it didn't go up in flames, while others worked to keep the tank on the truck form blowing up.
It worked or I wouldn't be here to write about it.
That one had a pretty good pucker factor.
There have been other fires that stand out over the years, but I can remember that one like it was yesterday.I hate pain and avoid it at all costs.
I am not that strong and can't imagine doing feats of strength.
I'm pretty calm around animals but I do think they can all be dangerous, if they want to.
I'm brave when it comes to relationships though. I am not afraid to be vulnerable. I think it's where the good stuff lies. No risk, no reward.I was a firefighter and a confined and hazardous materials rescue technician along with other similar roles so Iâd chalk it up to more of a hero complex and a lack of good sense than guts but I guess theyâre kind of the same thing.
Probably the dumbest thing I did was play chicken with a storm surge from a cyclone (a hurricane in the Southern Hemisphere) where my friend got pretty fucked upFaced my fear of heights and learning to drive a stand up forklift not only while on the ground but while up 30-40ft in the air🤪😬😱 I still need lot more training, but haven't given up or quit. I'll admit I'm nervous if I can really handle doing it every day, but if not, at least I'll know I tried gave it my all.. Helps one of the guys I'm training with is just as nervous and unsure as me. We either encourage/support one another or tease one another to laugh away our nerves..
Drive myself across the country in a U-Haul, while pulling a car on a trailer.
Spoke in front of a room of 300 office employees as a 20 yo marketing intern about why they should donate to United Way.
Ehhh lol. I guess it depends. I tried out for American Idol before lol.
I'm gonna have to get some guts soon to go after what I want and accomplish my goals
Moved to different country for a year all on my own, didn't know anyone where I was going at the time.
One time my truck was parked next to another vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames. I knew if i didn't move my truck it would be next. I could feel the heat on my back as I got the door unlocked. I kept hoping the gas tank would not explode.
I moved my truck just as the fire engines showed up.Stopped a drink driver (along with two other men in monster trucks) from getting away. The car he hit held the daughter of the area chief of sheriffâs.. it most likely did not end well for him. She and her husband were hurt.
I went on stage and sang like twice or 3 times years ago
Never had a reason to be so. But like the character my name on here, I want to die in style so for sure would have guts.
I can be brave when I've got a few drinks in me. 😂
i
can't think of anything
i ran up a hill once
well done lillie- s
I would say that I got guts. Not sure if this counts but the most courageous thing I've ever done was writing a love letter to a white guy I was interested in.😆
I collected evidence about a guy who was grooming me. Hopefully it will help a lady get her justice. She's been waiting 40 years for it.
Well I did jump out of an airplane to face my fear of height. As well as bungee jumping.
That should count for something...Jumped into a group of guys beating up a gun on the ground. Managed to kick all 4 of their asses alone too. ITALIAN FURY!!!
Moving away from my entire family for education traveling alone to another country. I donât know if Iâll make it back
