The majority of people who are currently not getting vaccinated in the United States are living in close proximity of one another in the inner cities across the country. People living in large cities generally don't identify as conservatives or Republicans. Yet the liberal national media only seems to be fascinated with and focused on the people across the country living in the middle of rural nowhere who aren't vaccinated, and that's less than half the issue. In fact they have found that blacks and Hispanic people are the least vaccinated from all other races. And most minority groups vote Democrat in the United States.

I have not seen anything about the right being against helping minorities to get vaccinated. I'll be happy to look at your evidence of that. The only thing the right has argued is minorities can provide identification to vote.

Now I do believe they may not have the same accessibility. I know this feeling because I live in a rural town where the nearest Walgreens and Walmart are 25 miles away. I couldn't even get my son tested they are so booked up. The next nearest is 50 miles away to the bigger city where I had to take him. So I get it could be hard for minorities who are typically Democrats and people who live in rural areas that are typically conservative. But you assume all on the right are refusing to get it when they too might want it but don't have the same accessibility as big cities that are typically Democrat.

It's absolutely ridiculous to blame one political party when if it weren't for a republican president you may not even have these vaccines.

You have the left calling Trump supporters a cult. Well if we are then why wouldn't we get the vaccine he helped us get so quickly? Follower of cults do everything their cult leader tells them. As for race, there's no clear answer there because different polls have given conflicting results as to whether there's a racial component over intent to obtain the vaccine. However, I haven't seen any polls that indicate that there isn't a partisan divide on vaccine hesitancy.

But regardless of who does and doesn't want to get the vaccine, the less people who get vaccinated => more people get infected => more chances the virus has to evolve into new variants. So it doesn't matter if your pro or anti vaccine per se when the virus evolves into a variant that the vaccine is ineffective against.

The fact is Republicans also don't discount natural immunity like a lot democrats do. They know if you have had the virus, your body built a natural immunity to it. So why chance a vaccine that didn't have the same time spent on perfecting it as other vaccines and risk unknown adverse reactions or although rare, death?

-If someone has a medical condition where they would experience serious side effects from the vaccine they should be exempt from any mandate.

-If anything the media is downplaying the severity. The reason that case fatality rate is as low as it is now is because we've learned how to better treat it. If the healthcare system is overwhelmed then we'd probably have a 2-3% mortality rate.

The bottom line is this: The fact that in nearly two years (the first hospitalization reports started coming out of Wuhan as early as November 2019) there hasn't even been a knock on the door at the Wuhan laboratory by an international science and medical envoy to at least ask questions, is blatantly egregious and outrageous... and social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook had a hand in shaping that narrative by burying legitimate stories that brought up the possibility of the Wuhan laboratory connection.

It has been invested, no one knows how it started besides the first possible cases. It takes years to find the origin of viruses like these. While it’s not possible to know if it came from this lab it’s not impossible to say that it did. But just because it’s not impossible it doesn’t make it likely.

While it could be a man made virus, there’s no certainty that it is. And trying to force this theory is harmful to actually finding the origin, because there’s no leads or evidence to suggest that China accidentally or purposely released it.

It's literally located in Wuhan, and the laboratory workers live in Wuhan, where the first cases were recorded in November 2019. If the laboratory was like 500 miles away? Personally I don't believe it was released deliberately by China. Someone probably handled a Petri dish, blew their nose, and went about their life. Now here we are. However, the subsequent cover-up by the Chinese government was definitely deliberate, and the laboratory still hasn't been visited by international investigators. It's been almost two years since the first cases in Wuhan, and not one knock at the laboratory door to ask questions.

The "man-made/deliberate release" stories weren't the only ones censored. Any story that hinted at any possible connection to the laboratory was censored, and that's unacceptable. The stories became politicized because they were censored, not the other way around. Regardless - chicken or egg - Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg still don't get to decide for the masses what's newsworthy. They're not the media, they're not elected officials, and they're not medical professionals.

About 90% of the covid deaths are people with comorbidities. The average age of a covid death is about 80. So if you are healthy and not elderly, the risk is really not that much. All vaccines have an injury rate. So normally you can run the data and see are you more likely to have a serious outcome from the disease or from the vaccine. Unfortunately most of the "science" community has put out false information at some point during COVID so you can't hardly trust most of the numbers available or it would be extremely easy to determine. Mainly because Donald Trump was president at the time and he did not want to be blamed for the damages of Covid19 and thought he could just have everyone pretend nothing is wrong and keep going without rocking the boat.

Sort of the same thing China usually does when something negative happens around them. A smarter person would use the disaster to rally people around them but no one ever accused Trump of being intelligent hence his first instinct of trying to escape consequences rather than deal with them.

Actually it's the current administration that made it political. Both Biden and Harris caused vaccine hesitancy by saying they wouldn't trust Trumps vaccine if he's involved. And now their administration and the mainstream media want everyone to believe it's the the right that's not getting vaccinated and continuing the pandemic.

But the facts show the least vaccinated Americans are black and Hispanic/Latino. And most minority groups vote Democrat.

But knowing that I wouldn't blame Democrats only. Because I'm smart enough to know it's a mixture of races and people of different political beliefs that choose not to get vaccinated.

@PinkMichae What sort of revisionist history is this? Must I remind you that Trump was warned about this upcoming pandemic in 2019 and did not tell anyone or prepare a response for it. He also tossed the literal handbook that USA had prepared for handling just a pandemic like this and fired the people in China who's job it was to prevent it. This is also just the tip of the ice berg on the sabotaging he did prior to this happening.

Basically Trump is the type of person that chucks out the fire extinguisher because he did not think it was necessary since nothing was on fire then deny that the house is on fire because it reflects poorly on his handling of the situation.

You can also track his response from keeping it a secret from the public to denying its existence to claiming it was just a handful of cases that would magically go away to saying its not even as bad as the flu and that it will go away in the summer etc...

All these things ensured that the Republican political stance was to minimize the threat of Covid19 and not do anything about it because that would send the message that it was not in fact "harmless". In other words Trump made sure that calling covid19 a pandemic and a health crisis that HAS already killed over a million people became a Democratic stance and was "incorrect" and "fake news" which later resulted in the vaccine AND the mask/quarantine measures being seen as Democratic schemes that either overreacts to "just the flu" or is somehow designed to attack you as a republican and/or your rights.

There is literally a direct link between Trump->Anti-vaxx->countless deaths, economic damage and suffering

@Soteris I do remember he was warned. I also remember China lied. Trump didn't want to cause a panic. Still he stopped people from other countries from entering our country in January. And democrats called him racist and xenophobic for doing it. Tell me what did democrats do to protect us. Oh that's right. They were too busy using tax payers money trying to impeach him at every turn unsuccessfully.

I truly believe if democrats would have just work with Trump Instead of fighting him over every little thing, our country would have been better protected. Me and my family weren't struggling financially for once when he was president. Now that Biden has spent so much money, he's caused inflation to the point we are struggling again.

Also Trump made comments about it going away by summer because we were learning as we go. He was trying to be optimistic. That didn't mean he didn't take the virus seriously. He wouldn't have done all he did to try to help us beat covid-19 including helping to make the vaccine available only a year later. Trump made mistakes. But not as many mistakes as Biden is now. I mean Americans have been abandoned and left in the hands of the Taliban. Our Allies abandoned as well. And killing 3 aid workers and 7 children in his drone strike he thought was isis k. I could go on but I'm sure you'll just make excuses for Biden like most do. Personally I think it's inexcusable.

@PinkMichae Well then. Lets revisit the Trump travel ban and explain why it had nothing to do with Covid19 and all to do with racism and/or appealing to his racist followers.

First and perhaps most importantly, they did not work. Not even slightly. We said they would not work and they did not, big surprise. So what made me and many others so certain that Trumps travel bans had not a snowballs chance in hell of actually working? Because they were politically motivated, as in the reason they existed where to score political points rather than stop the pandemic. This in turn means no one actually made sure there was a plan to follow it.

For example, the ban was more like "Travel restrictions" meaning people could still travel although to a more limited degree. This by itself does literally nothing to stop the spread since the virus dont care that a large number of people can't travel since it would just be transported by the few that can.

Limiting the travel is by itself perhaps not the worst idea if paired up with other measures. It could for example make a system of mandatory quarantine easier to enforce with fewer people or help with test and trace. If Trump and his government was actually serious about stopping Covid19 they would have followed up the travel bans with something else such as what New Zealand was doing.

So if the travel ban had nothing to do with stopping the pandemic and it was just a political move then why target certain countries and why avoid others?

There are other travel restrictions during the Trump era but this is the one that ruffled the most feathers. Partially because its straight up racist and partially because Trump had tried to implement this list for 5 years already. Again, what argument could you POSSIBLY make that restricting travel to NORTH KOREA would somehow protect USA from covid as opposed to I dont know... maybe Italy? The very same Italy that had an early outbreak and have a lot of travel between itself and USA?

Also they successfully impeached Donald Trump. Twice. The fact that the Conservative party saved his bacon for political reasons does not change this nor the fact that Trump was unsuitable for the presidency.

As for what the Democrats did? They were not in power so they could not do anything. It is up to the Conservatives to do something and they failed. I also like to point out that you might not have struggled during Trumps time, many did however and even if you did not he basically financed your good times by taking on a lot of debt. It is not Bidens fault that he needs to deal with the consequences of Trumps mismanagement.

Trump has done more harm to the effort against Covid19 than any other human on earth. You could pile up hundreds of thousands of deaths at his feet alone for his effort in sabotaging the vaccine and the other preparations. Also if you want to talk about abandoning your allies, whatever happened to the Kurds in Syria?
