I have no idea, I learned a long time ago most things aren't about deserve. It's a sign of the times so many humans are emotionally out of kilter. If it was one of the people he traumatized, or the family members of D. Chauvin, so be it. It's traumatizing to many... girlfriend had some responsibility in fostering a mess, as did his parents. That said, he didn't deserve to die as he did, was wrong.

The statue was uninspiring. I like the modifications, it wasn't defaced, it was enhanced... has lot more emotion... like he's pouring out tears of one side of his mind. The two sides of girlfriend... the traumatized little child that turned into a menace to society, and the one crying out for hope and freedom towards end of his life. I like it! Had he had proper upbringing or had survived that day to overcome his wounds, who knows what good he could have done. That's the tragedy.

Find out who did that, hug them, hire them. They have talent.

How can it deserve anything? It's a statue. What moral standing could an inanimate object possibly have?

That said, it's still censorship of a sort, and while I'm no less opposed to that now than I've ever been, it's hardly surprising, given what... I don't like thinking of it as "that side", but it IS mostly the same people, have started, making the destruction of "objectionable" artwork politically valid. You reap what you sow.

George Floyd didn’t deserve to have a status in the first place. Image if your the lady who was pregnant when George Floyd broke into your house and held a gun to your stomach and said I’m doing to kill the baby if you don’t give me all your money. George Floyd was a criminal and a drug attic all his life and frankly he deserved to die he should never have gotten a statue in the first place

@goaded except it wasn’t a homicidal cops it was a cop doing his job with the suspect that was suffering from excited delirium which is quite common in interaction with heavy drug users and cops. Most people with excited delirium have to be rushed to the hospital after being restrained until the ambulance shows up otherwise they would die in the back of the cop car. Floyd was to far gone by the time Derek Chauvin had gotten to him. No amount of better training would have prevented George Floyd from dying that day

Why was it held in Minneapolis
Why was the jury allowed to see the protesters saying they’re going to burn down Minneapolis if they didn’t get conversion they wanted?
Another issue with this case is there would never be an unbiased jury for example one other jury selected it was a member of BLM. My brother and one of my best friends is black so obviously I think black lives matter however I’m considered a racist. Because I don’t agree with Marxism which is BLM even though most of the people don’t understand the underlying ideology. And I think what BLM is doing over the summer of 2020 was wrong how am I racist

I find it odd that he gets a statue; it's not like he was a good role model or anything. I'd rather see a statue of his killer in handcuffs, as a reminder of how the system works.

When you look at the before and after and you see where the low part of the arc is, it's damn close to the crown of his head.

If this happened 3000 years ago, this is the kind of story that would make it into the bible and the fedora-tippers on r/atheist would snort and say "No way that happened, that's obvious hyperbole". I'm not a religious man, but even I appreciate the symbolism of God literally throwing a lighting bolt at the mural.
