Is the world actually limited in resources?

Not in the technical sense, obviously the atoms are limited and so is the energy

But more in the short term, can we actually run out of metals? Some chemical reactions are hard to reverse yes, but I assume most of the metal is reusable and recyclable. And we don't have to put as much effort as we were when we were mining it

And energy, for example every hour more solar energy hits the earth than the world uses in an entire year. Assuming we could sort out energy needs possibly we would be able to dig deeper.
