Because the vast majority of murders happen in cities that have strict gun control.
If you take out the top 5 crime ridden cities in this country we are ranked like 48th in the world for crime. on a side note the cities with the highest violence and crime rates are controlled by DEMOCRATS. when Australia did there anti gun laws crime went up 500% in 5 years and they went back and amend the laws.

The areas of the US with the highest violent crime rates also have the strictest gun control.
The people committing most crimes with guns aren't legal gun owners. Basic common sense.
