Why do women get so much more attention than men?

Men and their issues are largely ignored in society.
Nobody cares about men or their problems. Women can be standing at a bus stop and get help and attention. Men are almost invisible. On social media and dating sites, a woman gets hundreds of responses, while a guy is lucky to get a couple. Why doesn't anyone discuss this imbalance in society?

Some of the women to answer also would be appreciated. Why don't you care that 49% of the population has serious issues too? People come running to help women but nobody cares about men. They think such men whiny or weak. WE'RE HUMAN TOO.

Why? Because the conservative worldview says that men should not cry, that they can't be sexually assaulted because they are always willing to have sex, that its not manly for men to ask for help and all this other bullshit. Even the act of getting help is seen as a weakness and that a "Real Man" should solve his own problems.

If I had to take a random guess I think you are the type of person that is actually part of the problem. For example, you are probably not a supported of the Metoo movement am I right? Metoo is a movement about bringing attention to victims. This includes male victims. The problem Metoo ran into in terms of male victims is that very few of them felt comfortable stepping forward. That is how suppressed they are in todays society that they can't even openly ask for help.

And who is it that is standing in their way? Conservatives, people trying to maintain the old status quo of male stereotypes and responsibilities. People who want to decide what men should be, how they should dress and how they should act.

There will come a time when progressives manage to "free" men as well but it requires time and effort. It is not something you can just undo by waving a magic wand and everything is alright again. It is also not something that can be undone by attacking the progress we have finally managed to accomplish for women.

Men are made of flesh and bone and have feelings too, but nobody gives a shit especially women who continue to say that men have it easy. It's a joke. Look at this important question and how it getting no responses, except yours. There's a question by an anon girl saying she's sad that has dozens in the past hour. Wtf? Men have real problems and nobody gives a f.

Women by nature on the other hand are far more vulnerable than men in society so we as a society have to look out for them and built social systems to provide help for them as women are the weaker vessel as the Bible teaches..

That's a cop out. Society throws itself at women who are in need of help, but when men need it, it's ignored.

Men suffer from greater amounts of both physical and mental illness, men are victims of violence at far greater numbers than women, drug abuse more in men, alcoholism, men's rights in divorce/custody arrangements, men are held to traditional dating standards while women are free to be modern and promiscuous, men are discriminated against in adoption and in housing, for openers

My question is why society doesn't care about any of this? Women's issues and concerns are always addressed, even here on gag, a girl asks a question and gets dozens of responses from guys and girls but a guy asks something and gets 2 or 3 at most. On dating sites, women are swamped with hundreds of guys to choose from while a guy might get 2 or 3 every couple months at most and usually those would go with someone else. Men are neglected by society. What to do?

Nothing I can do about any of this, my question is why doesn't anyone in society care about any of it?

Obviously nobody really cares if it goes on and on unaddressed. Men are to blame for a lot of it because a lot of men are desperate and will do or say anything to attract girls, but girls also egg on the attention they're getting. An average girl who's getting hundreds of prospects online knows she's getting an ego boost and isn't worthy of that much attention, but it goes on with social media and unfortunately women don't recpirocate the attention to the same amount of guys, so we have many men going after women but few women going after a small percentage of men. This attitude is transferred to society as a whole where women are given a huge amount of attention but men's problems and issues are all but ignored.

I see this being addressed a lot. But there’s a lot to this that is rooted in biology. However, that doesn’t mean that men can improve their outcomes.

It's biological sure, but a lot of social changes made over the past 50 years have changed some things while ignoring others. Case in point, women have become more independent and more sexually liberated, but men are still expected to act according to female preferences while men have adjusted their preferences to fit societal changes. Men, biologically, should want a woman to provide him multiple children in her most fertile 20s, but that has been adjusted because of societal change, while women still expect men to pursue, court, compete and ultimately win their affection. There hasn't been any "give" from women on their expectations from men. As a matter of fact, just yesterday 2 questions on gag were asking why men aren't chivalrous anymore and where the moral men are, also women seem dumbfounded as to why men don't want to marry anymore. There simply aren't the benefits there once were. Women don't really need men to provide and the things men used to get out of marriage can no longer be expected such as having children, having a homemaker wife, etc. Men are left feeling disposable and worthless in society.

Men aren’t worthless or disposable in society. It’s just that a man’s worth to a woman is changing. Women don’t need providers or protectors as much as they need supportive and emotional healthy partners.

It leaves a lot of men feeling disposable and worthless though because the things we're supposed to be needed for are no longer needed by women. We are providers and protectors, it's as built into us as being nurturing and being a mother is to a woman, but the things we're supposed to provide aren't really needed anymore. Women can do for themselves, leaving men feeling worthless. Also, because of the imbalance of social norms, men are still expected to act like men but women can act however they like and still be accepted by society. Men who express their feelings are literally repelling women. Women's biological makeup still desires dominant types and strong types, so men who don't fit the part are basically radioactive to women biologically speaking. Nobody bothered to think how feminism would affect biological desires and perceptions so here we are.

Do you really think most men can handle women quitting their jobs and leaving men to make 100-200 k a year to support the family just so he feels worthy? Face it, most men au ply won’t be able to earn enough income, and they still end up feeling worthless. You’re simply going to have to find new ways to be worthy to women. Being supportive, understanding. And a good partner isn’t too difficult.

You just said a lot of it is biological, now you're saying that men have to change their biological wiring because feminism and society has changed. It's like asking women not to want to have children or not to want a dominant man. You can't just change hard wired biological things because society now says so. This is why even though what you say is true and in today's society it's not possible to have a one income family, it's still what men feel were supposed to bring to relationships, men provide, men protect. Could women just accept not to be able to be mothers if society said that it wasn't needed anymore? Some things just are what they are. I appreciate you actually taking the time to talk about this with me and listening without name calling and what not because I think it's important that people talk about these things in society instead of just yelling at each other, but I don't have the answers and you don't either. We were placed into this and unfortunately nobody bothered to consider what would happen when societal things changed, how they would affect families and relationships.

If you don’t want to change, then don’t change. Just understand that you might have to wait longer to find what you’re looking for. I say, everyone needs to figure out what works for themselves. I’m a late 30s married woman and I’m happy with a man who is just as untraditional as me. He is supportive of my career and he understands where is value is with me, and it’s not in being a provider, not in being dominant, and my value to him isn’t in being a housewife who cooks, cleans, or watches after kids all day. Neither one of us wants that. That’s us and that’s a lot of other people too. It’s not for everyone and that’s fine.

I'm glad that works for you. I can only say what I feel and what I've read about why a lot of men are having difficulties nowadays and why many decide not to enter LTR or marry. Also, why so many men are lost feeling not needed in today's society that tells men they're not needed. We are told we're supposed to be a certain way, but our feelings and desires are often different than what is expected of us.

But they're not the underdog. They have it better in dating and in health. Men are far more likely to be alone and have physical and mental illness. 80% of suicides are men.
