u +1 yWhy shouldn't everyone be proud of who they are?
54 Reply- +1 y
@Gal67 There is a diference between being proud of who you are and proud of what you have done.
- +1 y
@Gal67 Okay. It is an indicator. And if someone is inherently a criminal, they should not be proud of that fact. But they could still be proud of being Irish-American, Italian, Japanese, or whatever.
1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I am proud to be me I am proud to make it to where I have made it to you I don't see color because I know that many generations ago we will created equal and we all have 97 percent of the same DNA inside of us
The last 3% we were all giving our gene pool through our parents are thousands of years Generations ago grandparents so on but we were also given the ability to adapt meaning Our God new Earth had mini hard harsh environment conditions and to protect us he gave us all the ability to adapt depending on where our ancestors settled our bodies adapt to the harsh conditions are the non harsh conditions meaning the color of our skin is there to protect us to adapt to the environment no matter where it is where our ancestors settled I'm proud to be human. I'm not proud of ignorant people that cannot did have so much hate inside of them did it clouds your vision I hate that there's followers and not leaders I hate that there are people that are part of the problem and not part of the solution and ignorance is the greatest evil on this planet followers are the same thing I'm proud of every color on this planet I'm proud that there are people that are part of the solution and did love each other and will help each other no matter what and when it boils down to it will also help the ignorant because they need help not for being ignorant I'm talking about in a national disaster or something they can only help themselves when you turn ignorant you're on your own you make the choice to change but I'm proud to be a part of the solution not a part of the problem10 Reply
+1 yIt would make more sense to be proud of your heritage instead of the color of your skin. That's why so many people celebrate their Irish heritage, German heritage, or Scottish heritage (aka the 3 most common forms of white people in the USA and GB)
Saying "I don't care what my heritage is, as long as my skin is white" seems silly, as white culture is so extremely varied throughout Europe.
Most POC are proud of their skin color because at one point not too long ago in the world, you weren't considered a person if you weren't a white man. That's why that sentiment of "black pride" or "hispanic pride" or "Asian pride" exists.
"White pride" existing for the sole purpose of combating people celebrating standing against the tide of racism in a country that kept them down solely for the color of their skin well into the 1960s, which is an unacceptably recent time, is inherently racist.
That doesn't mean anyone who's proud of being white is racist, that's just what it seems like what the entire purpose of "white pride" exists for in popular culture today.01 Reply- +1 y
Not too long ago Irish weren't considered white/human either. The British called us worse than the Black man and we were cheaper than black slaves, in the USA signs had "if Irish, don't apply" on store windows, we were slaves for hundreds of years during during the Roman era and during the medieval ages, et cetera.
+1 yOf course it is. Why shouldn't we be proud. Whites particularly blonde hair blue eyed whites are the most intelligent and have built and invented most things. Us blonde hair blue eyed white girls are by far the most beautiful girls on the planet and the most intelligent too. We're literally worshipped by men of all races. Why the hell shouldn't we be allowed to be proud of being white? I'm very proud of being white and very proud of my beautiful natural platinum blonde hair yhstsylonger than I am y'all and my very bright very light beautiful blue eyes. I most certainly am not racist. I'm the furthest thing from racist. I'm happily married to and have kids with a very dark sexy black man. I wouldn't be married to and have kids with a black man if I was racist. Being proud of being white doesn't make one racist. Just like a white girl being married to a black man doesn't mean she's ashamed of and hates being white.
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Skin color is nothing to be proud or ashamed of its just a fact. It's not a merit of any kind. You didn't need to do anything to get it and you can hardly change it. So anyone being proud of it must rank his or her race higher and be racist. If everyone is equal there is nothing special to belong to either race.

+1 yI have to agree with people who say it’s not an accomplishment. What is being white exactly? White skin? Being a mixture of a bunch of European countries with different languages and cultures? Like I get being French and being proud of I dunno, French wine, or something French, but white? It doesn’t really mean too much except that people with white skin have done some bad shit over the last millennia. I have a mixed “white” background from various northern and Southern European countries and while I enjoy and take pride in some of the customs and cuisines of each, my deathly pallor has not on the list. If anything, yay skin cancer?
00 Reply3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nobody should be proud. Skin color matters not, now if you wanna be proud of your people made guinness or something go ahead but the point here it's not based on color it's based on what your relatives did or culture.
Though if your a person born from relatives who were all slave traders that's not something to be proud of course.
Then personally myself just don't agree with any kind of proudness in any of this because it's just making yourself proud of unproud of something you never effected and it's silly to act like so.00 ReplyI’m definitely proud to be white and proud to wake up every day as being a white , successful male. Color is a state of mind in my opinion and we should never be looked down at no matter what color or race you are. All this racist BS is sickening and just plain ignorant. I don’t care if you are black , brown or yellow, if you work and take care of your family then why would anyone care what color you are. Some people use color as a crutch and that my friends is not the white folks problem. Own your problems and shortcomings because it isn’t the white folks fault or our problem.
00 ReplyThis is what I really do not understand. Why do so many people claim to be proud of a characteristic, an attribute they were born with? I can understand someone being proud of an accomplishment, or who they've become after a great deal of personal development and soul-searching, but skin tone? Really? What next will people say they're proud of? Eye colour?

I’m a really white, almost ginger Hispanic woman from South America.
I’m not proud of it. I feel neutral about it. It’s Not something I can control, just like my pear shape and large hips and tiny feminine hands. It is what is.
( My crush is a muscular black guy)
No I don’t think you should be proud of it. I don’t know who’s teaching you to be proud of something that’s gonna wear off eventually. Pride is a sin. It’s actually the biggest sin. It’s the reason Lucifer became the Devil.03 Reply

+1 yI'm 3rd gen Irish-American with northern European decent. I'm proud of my heritage. (Before anyone says "i bet your family owned slaves" ... no, they didn't. Read up on irish history, they were all farmers who were abused my england for over 700 years. They were literally starving having all little to no aid withheld from them during the famine. They literally fled to America because it was either leave their county or die. Before that my ancestors came from scotland around the time when england was still fighting them for their land, before that they were from all parts of northern Europe, nothing from Russia though.)

+1 yOnly losers are proud of their race. Its like saying "im proud i have a nose" "im proud i have two legs" you got to be real special in the head to be proud of something you didn't work for, you dont choose, that has no special benefit.
Usually only sad people who are total losers with nothing to be proud of think "gee let me be proud of my skin color since i live in a slum or in moms basement, have no morals never did anything good in my life, now i got something"00 Reply 326 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. what's weird is that you have to ask?
you don't see any other race asking if it's okay to be proud lol
this question is weird, be proud of what you are proud of!
I'm proud of my boiled egg that I just boiled to perfection. You see? it doesn't matter if someone else is not proud or doesn't approve of my proudness for this egg. +1 yIt’s okay to be proud of your culture and family but not okay to be proud of the fact that your not a member of another race that you consider is inferior to your own so it depends whether your pride is based on personal collective positives for your own heritage or counter negative views for other races.

+1 yfine, jus aslong as u dont treat black people like theyre all worthless scum, cos were all equal, infact ur family was once black millions of years ago, here's a fact, we all was once the same race, before we evolved, the first humans came from africa, then when we moved to colder countries we no longer needed the sun protection on our skin, thats why you are white, because u dont need sun protection in ur country, ur family was once black thousands of years ago

if you go to Germany, Scotland, Wales, France etc, they have pride of being their nationalities and likely pride in their region.00 Reply
+1 yI never understood the point of being proud to belong to any racial category, but I at least see that as far superior to being apologetic or self-loathing towards an entire race. I would at least prefer someone who is proud of their white heritage to someone who feels the need to apologize for being white.

The amount of slaves your family had? The amount of Hispanic land they stole? Or maybe how much they profiteered from selling opium to the Asians and PoC?01 Reply- +1 y
Hispanic land?
Isn't Hispanic land owned by Spaniards who came from Europe?
Are you fucking stupid?
Yes, if you really care. But honestly, being proud of your race (no matter who) is stupid in my opinion. Don't be proud of anything you were simply born as and did nothing to achieve.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWhy not. After all we did build the world and civilize it. We're responsible for most great inventions and civilizations. Done more good than bad. Look at crime statistics. Tell me who's who. I'm so sick of people being racist these days that I just say these things because they're doing the same thing just the opposite. So they can't say a damn word about it.

However it would not be okay if you believed to be better than others because of it.00 Reply

I’m still here. It wasn’t all of us. Also, each race can be proud of their race’s accomplishments. Whites can be proud of the airplane. Blacks can be proud of the wrench. But seriously, nobody should be proud of their race anyway because they didn’t earn it. They didn’t choose it.
