Guys, Is the government trying to dumb-down us Americans?

I was talking to a fella on this site today, and I was wondering why politicians who impose mask mandates, don't wear the masks, themselves. Also, why do they go out of their way to get filmed in public without masks.

London Breed, mayor of San Francisco, imposed one of the most strict mask mandates in the country, and then went to a jazz club without a mask.

The fella on here said that this is intentional. The government wants to throw it in your face that it's "rules for thee, but not for me." They want you to dumb-down and realize that the government no longer are public servants, but rulers.

In California they're letting criminals out of prison, and breaking into stores and looting is totally acceptable. But just make sure you wear your mask while looting the place, or they will come for you.

That reminds me of what I read in this short book some months ago. It was called 'Unmasking God's Truth' and is a spiritual take on the pandemic. In 'Chapter 1 Unmasking The Truth it said 'If they do not cover their faces, but tell all others to do so, what then does the mask symbolise?'

The rest of the chapters mentions how your leaders laugh at you while not following what they tell you to do. But in answer to your question I'd say yes 100%. What people don't realize is the Government fear them (but not in their dumbed-down state).

Public schools have a rough time motivating students in a country that tends to not emphasize a good education. A lot of people emphasize that they need an education but the quality is where the US in general can fall short. Money and good parenting can sometimes change this but often the society doesn’t have the follow through here. The government throws money at the issue instead of addressing the actual societal issues involved because they are happy to create a nation of workers as there model of education demonstrates — The Prussian education system that has been used which was made to get young people accustomed to a factory life, ex bells for period breaks. The Ford family being so integral on the creation of the education system we have, with Ford famously saying “I want a nation of workers not thinkers”. I’m not saying the a good education can't be obtained here but the government tends to fall short of helping people achieve that. You can even look at the student debt relief they tried to implement in the past - forgiveness for public servants but the program was handled by corporations that basically made it impossible to find out about or apply for.

The US doesn't have more idiots than the rest of the world; the rest of the world are just too arrogant to think they're any smarter than the US. And when it's time to actually make changes and prove your worth to society around you, what do people do? They get cold feet or chicken out. They'd rather be slaves to corrupt leaders than be called a "conspiracy theorist" or "racist" or anything else but blind obedient sheep.

I personally don’t feel that homeschooling is the answer either. I think we should look at how other countries who graduate well educated people run their shit and pick what works and what doesn’t and make a new public schooling system. Something that actually finds peoples aptitudes instead of having them do English or Math when they’re better at something else. Same with college Gen Ed requirements. All that should already be done before college. I don’t need to know Statistics or Shakespeare to be a Geologist

Let the parents take their government school vouchers, and shop around for the school that works best for them.

If you want to send your kid to a school with drag queens teaching, then go for it.
If you're OK sending your kid to a school that isn't obsessed with race, has an American flag in the corner, and allows Christmas trees and decorations, then send your kid to that school.

I guarantee that the insanity would stop if there was competition for the dollars. And the teachers union would have to join a different Mafioso.

I work in higher education and I see the results of how bad the public schools are all the time. A lot of kids end up in college without learning how to write with proper grammar and spelling and they even have spell check to help them.

I talked to a teacher who was born in Hong Kong. He said that college was free, but you did NOT get to pick your major. The government told him he was going to major in electronics, and he did.

I work at a prison work release, and each prisoner has a mailbox slot. I put a flier in everyone's mailbox, telling them that if they had kids, the state would help them out at Christmas. One guy pulled out his flier, glanced at it wadded it up and threw it across the room. Then he said: "This is fucking bullshit."
I told him to get his ass over there and pick it up and throw it in the garbage, and then come talk to me.
When he came over I said: "I feel bad you never learned to read, but if you want, I can maybe get you into a class or at least find someone who can teach you to read." He just stomped off. And he is costing the tax payers about 50K per year to babysit him.

I was in high school with a guy that, SOMEHOW, STILL couldn't read any of the Dick & Jane books!! How the fuck did he get passed through the first 8 or 9 grades of school without being able to read on a 1st grade level?
In Jr. high, there was a kid that was 18 years old because he'd missed a lot of school due to illnesses in his younger years. Why did he have to learn all the stuff he missed to graduate but the kid that couldn't even read at the age of 17 graduated without learning al he needed to learn to pass?

My cousin's wife is a teacher, and we got into a debate on that. She said they have to pass kids in order to make room for the next batch. I told her that no one owes them a high school diploma. Just pat them on the back and give them a ribbon for trying, and send them on their way.

If schools don't do this, then saying you graduated from high school is meaningless.

If everyone gets to win the race, then the race is a waste of time.

If your job is to teach but it doesn't make a difference at all if the kids learn anything from you, what's the point of BEING teacher or even HAVING teachers... or even sending your kids to school? Why do I have to pay school taxes if the teachers aren't gonna bother doing their job because the "powers that be" don't CARE if they do their job? Especially since I don't have any kids!!
As for not having room for the next batch, in the first place, how much room could a handful of repeat students take up? Just build the classes AROUND the POSSIBILITY that it MIGHT happen! If it does, okay! You've got a few extra seats in the class! With that, a teacher's goal might then be to see to it there ARE no repeaters!!
