People vote with their wallets all the time. This is just another form, just one getting more attention. It's extremely unlikely that they're going to have much of an effect on how well the movie does, and that's unlikely to be their intent, more that they want people to know their reasoning and have others consider the same. They'll have an affect on some, just not all or even many.

Plus, in many nations, protesting is a pretty sacred right. And like most protests, they can be ignored if ya try.

Personally I boycott all live action remakes. Except Beauty and the Beast, and that was just to see Emma. The animated version was still better.

Interesting. I hadn't been aware of the controversy regarding the filming location or the statements of the actress portraying Mulan.

The guy reviewing the movie was a little petty on a couple points, but overall, having not seen the remake and taking his word, I would agree with his assessment. Though it doesn't surprise me when a live action remake turns out vastly inferior to the animation - that seems to be the Disney pattern.

Fortunately I will have no moral dilemma about seeing the movie as I had no intent to do so, and this makes me more determined to not give them money for this crap.

I'm pretty tired of Hollywood trying to appease a murderous communist regime with this kind of blatent pandering too.
