Well, a couple things. I'm not sure science has anything to do with that. That's a weird thing to say. I'll be honest, I didn't read your whole question because if that. But I did read 130 countries took away weapons and they stopped killing... And I just stopped there. Let me tell you something. If you get someone mad enough where they have made up their mind to kill you, do you think they care if they have a gun or not? Killings didn't stop from happening but maybe murder from a gun did? I don't even k ow how true that is but let's just say that all 130 countries did stop using guns to kill. That's really hard to believe but for the sake of your post we will stick to that.
A murder is a murder. Someone who is sick in the head that wants to kill will kill with what they have available. In most cases I believe people would choose that method to die if they got a choice from a murderer. Its quick. A pyscho without a gun will keep you in a hole in the basement while making you rub lotion on your own skin or else you are forced to be sprayed with a hose. All that so he can eventually skin you like a deer and make a dress out of your skin. I much rather get shot in the face.
My point is taking away guns will not stop people from getting murdered. It's not the gun that kills. It just doesn't make sense to take away guns. And do you think the people who have the guns illegally are going to give them up because the government said so? I think if they gave a fuck about what the government said, they wouldn't have them in the first place. They probably are not known for fully thinking things through.
Another thing is the timing of all this. Is this the best time to take away the guns of americans? Have we forgotten so quickly that we have been feeding weapons to a country the russia is at war with? I can't remember is russia is known to be nice and violence free. Oh, wait, they are currently in a war against somebody we are giving weapons to in hopes they kill the Russians. Jesus, seems like the perfect time to take away guns. Russia isn't known to just go fight other countries because they have something they want.

We all understand that statement just as well as you do. We also understand that if every law abiding citizen turn in their guns, criminals will still have guns, and the wacko left will step up their calls to defund the police. I can understand that argument and still believe it’s nonsense. I’m Nigerian and we have a lot of terrorist attacks and lots of kidnappings burglary blah blah a whole mess. Times like this it would be great to be armed. It begs the question in a country where guns are illegal how are so many people able to get access to them to form these groups. Your science is floored because they will illegally obtain them. Honestly Nigerians aren’t in a sane environment to make arms legal because everyone is frustrated and that would lead to more deaths because people can always pay their way to obtain a gun license without being properly checked. And I’m sure most shooters don’t have gun licenses because they illegally obtained it. So removing the guns would honestly make things worst for your society. To prevent a war is to prepare for war. I live in Nigeria and I can assure you that if it was legal to have arms and people were well assessed it would help curtail our issues with bandits and burglars etc
I am in Japan and citizens do not have guns here. We have never had a school shooting and we don't have to worry about getting shot in the streets. Our crime rate is also one of the lowest in the world, which is pretty amazing since most of the population are in large cities. A lot of people I know joke about the USA being the "Wild Wild West", and it is a valid point. Also, in the entire history of the our police force, there has never been an instance of a police officer shooting and killing someone. They do have guns, but they are all well-trained in their use. Police officers are required to have a college degree and go through intensive training. I researched the police training in the USA, which varies from state to state, and it is only 12 weeks of classes in many areas. Also, what is going on the USA that is causing so many cases of mental health disorders? It is higher than the rest of the world combined! 😯😯😯😳😳😳

Let's see, mass shooting in Norway with a bow and arrow last year. Both are designed to penetrate a target and cause death by bleeding, arrows are far more efficient. You can shoot a deer with a rifle and it might run for a while, shoot one with a hunting tip arrow, just count down from 60 tops. It's also far more conspicuous to be walking around with a compound bow though...

It's not so much as it is hard for people to grasp, as it is that they refuse to accept it. They dont want to let go of their gns just as much as a child doesn't want to let go of their toys. The NRA backs them up. Try and reason with them by showing them statistics ( look at Japan, for example) about countries with low homicide rates due to guns, and they won't listen. That's the issue I have lately because whereas in Europe in the US many people don't trust the police to help them in times of a attack also in central Europe like Germany or UK thefts often flee when they realise that the inhabitants of a house are around and the house isn't empty.
I don't know about the US but here it's less likely to experience a confrontation where the theft has a gun.

You're 100% correct. They don't shoot other people. They use other weapons and articles to do their killing with. Hammers, knives, machetes, home-made bombs, vehicles, chemicals, and rocks... Rocks are especially bad. We ought to take those away too! But the things are EVERY WHERE!

Well if you're talking about America, I think it's about 200 years too late to reverse what's already set in motion, the seal's already broken as the violent criminals already have guns and wouldn't just return them because some new law says so. Meanwhile the law-abiding gun owners would do their lawful duty and become unarmed, thus giving the violent criminals free reign to rape, pillage, kill, and destroy as they see fit. Once you introduce guns into the general population, you have to assume the criminal underworld will become absolutely and permanently saturated with firearms of all varieties. So then the question becomes one of damage limitation -- making sure law-abiding, morally upstanding citizens have the capability to out-gun, out-number, and out-manoeuvre any attempts on their lives or livelihoods by a gun-bearing criminal.

I agree with you 100% I like your argument on gun control and your thoughts about it but what I don't like is I am very responsible with my guns and they're locked up safe and I wouldn't want somebody telling me that I had to give my guns up because of what somebody else did
