Why doesn't the USA take away gun rights from crazy alt right people who keep shooting up schools?

And people who shoot up schools usually get killed in the process; few WANT to be taken alive. Those who are are thrown in prison, and in both cases, they no longer have gun rights. What more do you want?

If you take away guns from anyone, then the criminals will be the only ones to have them. A better question in my mind is "why do leftist lash out at good guys who use guns to protect others?" Like the mall thing. I heard someone came out and said the guy who used a gun to take down the shooter "shouldn't have had that gun there." No "thank you for saving everyone else's life?"

Handguns are fine but why do you need an AR or shotgun or grenade launchers? Handguns are the perfect self defense weapon. Anything else is an offense weapon and should only be used for war.

@CAPTAIN-OBVIOUS as has been observed here and elsewhere on this page, giving a politician an inch seems to inspire them to take a mile. There are already existing systems in place to make illegal gun possession a very serious felony. That does not seem to deter the vast majority of shootings which are between illegal handgun owners in cities. That just isn’t talked about because it doesn’t further the leftist narrative of getting the rifles which would allow citizens to resist a revolution more successfully away from said citizens.

That's easier said than done, but yes, there should be a serious background check, a mandatory gun safety class, and a 30 day waiting period before a person is allowed to buy a gun. Weapons like the AR-15 should be illegal to have at home. If people want to fire them, they can store them at the range.

Wrong. Parkland shooter was a proud MAGA kid. The supermarket shooter in Buffalo was a conservative because he came to shoot black
people. Also, the racist church shooter Dylan Roof was a Republican patriot who wanted to start a race war. And all the violent Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are twisted MAGA men.
