He probably thinks it was unfair, they see the cops just a thugs that regular people call for whatever reason.
In my experience waiting tables, I had several encounters with people doing the same scam, but even the most karen of karens wouldn't call the cops on it. (the threat was always word of mouth negative advertisement.)

Reminds me of cases like this:

That's one of my points. You can't base your morality just on authoritative texts, you need to be able to argue it from a rational standpoint even if it's basically impossible.

I'm not saying revelation has no use, it clearly does, just not when it comes to galvanazing the population from the sophistry of these kinds of people.

Specially with something as obvious as both of these cases.

Think kant. He explicitly tried to recover christian moral foundations without relying on christianity to "some degree" of success because of the inherit non-universal and ontological basis of faith based systems.
You end up relying on an authority, and if there's something these types like is to claim authority for themselves by highlighting the inevitable flaws of existing authority figures, to the point that now they are the authority doing fuck ups never imagined before or thought possible.

Of course, the method which kant used was not functional, at all. But he had the right idea of what was necessary. And it worked, for a while, it was the moral basis of what we would call "west", among with other things, just not strong enough to weather the storms.
