Chances are I would not know it is stolen, a thief isn't exactly going to state that... because they know someone might report them.

That means if I did buy it, I would think it is a super deal and have no idea it was stolen.

If they told me it was stolen, I'd report them to the police and thus not buy it.

I would be very reluctant. I heard of a case years ago when big powerful speakers were popular where people would buy cheap but large $80 speakers and claim they were stolen $400 speakers and sell them for $150.
