Which nationality do you feel you belong to?

This is a question I always try to not answer lol Cause I don't have an answer...

Like I was born in Germany, but had to grow up a few years in turkey, most horrible and violent time of my life and I would never call myself a turk! I always just say my parents are from there but I never relate myself to that nation.
But I also don't feel comfortable to say I'm German, even tho that's in my papers... like I'm definitely more on the German side and the country has great things but I don't get along so well with germans itself and don't feel like I belong to them (generally speaking)

Great question. I don't know, but I can identify with one more than the other. My parents were both Puerto Rican (father born in the states, according to my brother, but I thought he was born in PR). I was born and raised here. Now I know that Puerto Ricans are also American citizens, but they are a totally different culture on the island. Thats being said, I was raised listening to both American and Latin American music, eating both American and Puerto Rican foods, following traditions assocated with both, reading Spanish novelas, and watching tv novellas with my mother. So, I'm a mix of both, but more fluent in English than in Spanish. I feel I belong to both, as hard as that may seem.

I had my fair share of not knowing where I belong. But to make things easy, I would say Angolan. I spent 27 years of my life in Portugal, but I could never say that I'm Portuguese. I wasn't born here and I'm not white.

but maybe I could go with this... the Mexican culture is VERY distinctive and it can permeate into so many aspects of your life, and that's how I actually feel

the feeling and meaning of "being Mexican" is so much more deep and significant because it is a way way more rooted culture with an actual true identity

so maybe that's my answer...

American feels more like my nationality

but Mexican feels more like my identity, lol

I have not know any country with similar individual stereotypes, maybe there's some more. I'm a German like person. Well, that's what I think. I haven't had the experience living there but have the interest to. I've done my research on their individuals and I found them to be more private and strict on respecting other people's time as how they want to be respected. That's a place with social qualities I want to try to live. If it's as what I'm expecting, I'll settle there (Germany, or somewhere else similar to that quality. But Germany seems nice with their decent tech and living accomodation).
